@@jeffe2267 I mean I only remember because of watching so much that you kind of just learn it. I mean some of the arenas have been named the same for so long it just sticks in your head if you watch enough lol.
@@jeffe2267now knowing previous arenas teams played in if they weren't extremely popular arenas, that's a little different lol.
I remember just a few of the original 6 arenas, the Olympia in detroit, boston gardens, the montreal forum, the maple leaf gardens, madison square garden for the rangers, but I don't remember the chicago blackhawks old arena. Again those arenas have been talked about a lot though. Now ask me where most teams played when they first joined the league I won't remember those names lol

Played the trivia game with Adam and Steve, i missed Winnepeg, Florida, Columbus, and the Buffalo. The only reason why i know the rest is because I've been watching most of the games on ESPN+, where i can watch every team except the Hurricanes, which is crazy since I live in NC. Make it make sense.

I agree what ur saying about brodeur but Brodeur acknowledged the average goalie now is better than when he played but said it's harder to trust younger netminders, so experience often wins out

In terms of the Sabres downfall from last season to this one, while MOST of the blame should be put on the GM for doing little to nothing last offseason, the coaching staff does deserve their share of the blame with how the team has played on a nightly basis. Last years Sabres team would SMOKE this years Sabres team (with improved goaltending and defense) hence why there should be some changes behind the bench.
Overall heading into next season, if you were to tell us Sabres fans to be excited with guys like Dahlin, Power, and Byram, having the top prospect pool in the league, and a bunch of cap space to make moves, we honestly don't care at this point because we're expecting this team no matter what to find a way to mess this all up. Thus going back all the way to Step 1 of the Rebuild once again. With playoffs, i'll believe it when i see it.

One current player/legend that I think could definitely offer a lot in terms of intelligence, especially when it comes to hockey, whether in a front office setting or broadcasting is Patty Kane. He is such a student of the game, very well spoken and intelligent, and truly loves the game. He strikes me as being a lot more like Yzerman or Sakic than Brodeur and I really hope he becomes an exec. I am excited for the current and soon to be retiring players getting involved in the business side at some point because they are a lot more understanding about the future of the game than older guys like Brodeur.
Some interesting stats I found today that wanted to share
TJ Brodie is top 10 in shifts this season by any player
Conner Bedard has the 4th worst +/- in the league
Sam Reinhart leads the league with a 26% shooting percentage (next closest is Point at 21.4%)

I got 26 arena names and I was disappointed in myself. I think a huge part of it is American branding. Theres a Wells Fargo or Enterprise commercial on TV every 12 seconds so they're sort of difficult to forget.
Also, as far as the Lightning hitting their stride. Have to mention Vasy. Over his last 7 games his GAA is 2.15. With a .926 save percentage. Playoff Vasy is rounding into form!

I think its funny how little time they spent on the pacific division winner lol. The Canucks are now 6 points up, the Oilers have 2 games in hand, and one more head to head matchup. I think the Canucks will hold on to top spot, but these guys sure made it sound like there will be a 9 point gap at the end of the season.

I really only watch EDM games, I got 18 arena's correct. Also, Steve is right. It doesn't matter. (I didn't include the Canucks or Winnipeg that I didn't know before they said them.) (I played at the same time they did, mine only counted if I named them before Steve or Adam did)
The only issue with Steve’s take, comparing the Sens first round forfeiture to player discipline, is that franchise malfeasance is FAR less prevalent than player transgressions. There isn’t much of a precedent standard to apply. Plus you have other extenuating circumstances like intent, cover up, scale of involvement, etc to consider. It’s nigh impossible to have comparables at that level.

I am trying to do the 32 arenas visited by 32 years of age (currently 26 and at 21) and i was only able to get 27 so 21 really is not bad

No. Buffalo doesn’t have a system! They play like a really talented beer league team. The roster is good, but they need a real coach, not a first time project coach. Just look how Buffalo players play without the puck. Purposeless and confused. Don will be fired as soon as the season is done or Mullet Arena will have a higher attendance record.

I don't know how they think the Leafs would face the Rangers if the Leafs fell to the 1st wildcard. That would mean they would play the 2nd division winner which with the Rangers currently 1st would mean either Boston or Florida

At least how it looks today, dropping down to the first Wildcard doesn't put the Leafs into a matchup with the Rangers. The Rangers are on their way of winning the east, they have a 3 point cushion on the Bruins, Panthers and Carolina (with a game in hand on both Boston and Carolina). And if the Rangers get the top spot, the Leafs would play the Bruins or the Panthers anyways.
