One thing I learned from this video... No matter religion, ethnicity, language, background, or geographical location, old men in groups always love to challenge and complicate the most simplest questions.

I wouldn’t say it’s complicating the simplest question necessarily. That is a really complicated question in itself to both races (Israeli and Palestinian) and in that context. I thought they actually had the most interesting dialogue in the whole video. I didn’t necessarily agree with some of it but there were also parts I agreed with. That is the point of this project I’d imagine; to gather different opinions on a really controversial matter. Personally, I believe Israel and Palestine should learn to share the land for the sake of stopping the violence however it is obvious and a complete fact that the Palestinian side is being oppressed and forced away from what is also their holy ground. That is not fair. That is why the war will never stop. Both sides are incredibly passionate about their religious beliefs and sites.
The same way I wouldn’t judge every Jew through stereotypes, I would not judge a Muslim. We are all human. Period. And so one part in that conversation that really bothered me was the 1000 cups of wine analogy. That is how holocausts, genocide, “extremist” attacks” and general war/violence begin. Ignorance and stereotypes.
It actually saddens me because though Islam and Judaism are the two closest religions, they seem to have the biggest rift.

My grandpa was Palestinian born in Yaffa 1925. He was forced out of his land and home. I was so hurt about that for my whole life, but today I see that the only solution for both of us is peace. For the next generations, for our kids. I don't hate Israeli people, and I know many of them don't hate me as well. Stay safe you all. Much love and respect.

The question is very framing. When you ask 'how much do you hate' someone, people's reaction will obvioulsy be 'i dont hate'. If you had asked about their perceptions, you'd get a more sincere answer. Their prejudice shows when they say 'i dont hate them, BUT...' and then proceed to call them violent, extremist, terrorists, claiming israel treats them fairly and employs them. The level of arrogance of the settler saying 'yea palestinians probably dont like going through the checkpoint but then at my house we drink tea' yea dude, they're actually respectful people who just want freedom and the fact you live in their land surrounded by walls and army outposts takes their right to being free. Some of these people seem genuinely tolerant, but most seem hypocrites afraid to let their bigotry and intolerance show.

Your voice to recognize the similarities between 1930s propaganda indoctrinating Germans to a hateful ideology, rhetoric and behaviour and those in Islamic Hamas control or circles is valued and needed. Peace comes through our shared humanity, which requires interaction not divisionist tribalism. Sadly, social media allows us to exit, block, silence, turn off voices we don't agree with and isolate ourselves in the comfort of echo chambers.
One of my most cherished memories is solo travelling in Germany at age 20. I was chatting with a group of 18/19 year old German guys and I told them how my grandpa escaped Germany in 1939. They made me feel comfortable enough to share that and had such a mature outlook on how it was their great-grandfathers and grandfathers not them, never them and never again.
There still are a lot of Nazis in some parts of Germany, unfortunately.

I’ve worked in an Arabic restaurant for 3 years, my closest friends are Muslim and I speak Arabic, not fluently but conversationally. I moved last year and for this last year I have been working in a predominantly Jewish restaurant, and I’ve learned a small amount of Hebrew and I have dozens of Jewish regulars I see everyday. I’ve had lots of conversations with both sides, and from my perspective I haven’t seen any hate. It gives me so much hope, as I have had long conversations with my Palestinian brothers and sisters as well as my Israeli brothers and sisters and I get the same thing, from old and young. They don’t want violence, they want peace. That’s what the people say. This has been my personal experience but it’s one that I cherish, and to this day I’ve heard this more than any other line, “we’re all people.”

At the end of the day, almost all people no matter their religion and beliefs just want to live peaceful lives. Politics and government foster the hatred because they ultimately profit off of the people's suffering.. No different for any country or governing body in the world. If things were left to the people, there would be hardly any conflict and I wager that most situations would be settled peacefully. BUT the modern world has always been this way.
Anarchy is a strong word. Never did I say that law and order didnt apply. Eliminate the politicians that are for sale. And if you dont think corruption is EVERYWHERE in the world, or that governments and their leaders dont profit off of unrest and are only interested in giving the appearance of having ppls the best interests...dont know what to tell you.

The responses in the videos from Arabs Israelis and Israeli Jews is insanely different; Jews are not raised to hate the people who hate us. My whole childhood we were told people hated us but I never understood why. Its learnt hate. Blind hate. Delusional hate.
