One of the biggest myths about the Israel-Palestine conflict is that it's been going on for centuries, that this is all about ancient religious hatreds.
In fact, while religion is involved, the conflict is mostly about two groups of people who claim the same land. And it really only goes back about a century, to the early 1900s. At its heart, it is a conflict between two self-determination movements - the Jewish Zionist project and the Palestinian nationalist project - that lay claim to the same territory.

Thank you for this video. It really cleared things up because I was misinformed by one of my acquaintances regarding the history of Palestine-Israel. I'd like to be educated more about this conflict.
The video starts in the middle of the story and makes numerous lies of omission. You should do more research.
Important details is that the Jewish people are from the land of Israel, and they returned because they were facing global genocide, predominantly in Europe and the Arab countries.
Vitally important is the fact that the Jewish people adhered to all international rules and standards for their return and the re-establishment of the state of Israel. They didn't steal land, and they didn't start the military conflicts between the Arabs and themselves. Every military confrontation between the Arabs and Israel was started by Arabs attacking Israeli civilians, and the attacks never stopped from the founding of Israel to today. That's why the situation there is what it is.
People who accuse Israel of wrongdoing have to ignore the context of their actions to make that claim, and misrepresent what Israel is actually doing. There's no apartheid, and the Arab terrorists are the only ones attempting to commit genocide upon their enemies. Israel only attacks military targets. Hamas and the other Arab terrorist organizations use their own civilians as human shields (which is a war crime in and of itself), resulting in civilian casualties.
@@lennardchurch8483 that's very informative, thank you. Yes. I'm currently watching more videos. Right now I'm watching a video from History on Maps. I want to understand this conflict or war better. The real problem was the british occupation
Oh but i need to apologize to blacks because of what my grand grand grand father did, right.
That's not remotely the situation.
The Jews are the only people to have ever had a country within that land in all of human history. The Arabs never had a country within what is now the modern state of Israel. No state of "Palestine" ever existed.
And the Jews have had a presence in the land continually for over 3,000 years. The Arabs living in the land are descended from colonizers, mostly Egyptian and Jordanian, who colonized the land within a century of the establishment of the modern state of Israel.
But when the Jews returned from exile to their ancestral homeland after WW2, they did so by legally buying land from the previous landowners, and it's on that land they legally purchased that they established the modern state of Israel on. Their history is their reason for wanting the land, not the basis for their legal claim to it.
Every single military confrontation between Israel and the Arabs was instigated by the Arabs.
Every single expansion of Israel was in a defensive war, pushing back the Arab aggressors to establish defensible borders, which under the international laws of war is a legal acquisition of land.

Every single military conflict between the "Palestinians" and Israel was started by the "Palestinians". If they wanted peace and safety, all they would have to do would be prevent their own people from launching terrorist attacks against Israel, instigating war. It's that simple.
I put "Palestinian" in quotation marks because they don't have the deep connection to the land they claim. They're ethnically Arab Jordanians and Egyptians mostly descended from colonizers who colonized the land in the century preceding the return of the Jews. In contrast, the Jews have had a continual presence in the land for over 3,000 years, and are the only people to have ever had a sovereign state in the land in the whole of recorded history, making them objectively the land's indigenous population, even as many of them returned from an exceedingly long exile in other parts of the world after WW2.

This was made 7 1/2 years ago, and now , October 2023 war has been declared. You weren’t lying when you said at the end of the video, “unless something dramatic changes, whatever comes next will be much worse.” Well, we’re witnessing what “much worse” looks like and it’s absolutely heartbreaking. I wish both sides could find some kind of peaceful resolution rather than continue to murder one another generation after generation.
Palestine has tried. Israel doesn’t want a peaceful resolution. They want the genocide of the Palestinian people. I know this is hard to see and accept, but it’s the truth.

I appreciate the knowledge but I can't listen without feeling such grief for the Palestinian people.
Keep in mind the video is half-truths at best, starting in the middle of the story, and making numerous lies of omission. The children of Gaza and the West Bank are innocents, but the adults there created the situation they live in, by repeatedly launching unprovoked attacks against Israel, or supporting those that do. Israel doesn't target civilians, and it doesn't instigate military confrontations. Every time, the Arab terrorists attack Israeli civilians, then hide behind the Arab civilians as human shields, so when Israel targets the terrorists, the civilians are in the way, which is why Israel puts more effort into warning the civilians to get them out of harms way than any other country in Earth's history.
@@lennardchurch8483you saying Israel doesn't Target children is a complete fabrication 😂
@@toastyc9935 You're a liar. Hamas uses children as human shields, because Hamas knows Israel does everything humanly possible to avoid and minimize civilian casualties. Israel targets the terrorists, and gives the civilians every possible chance to get out of the area before attacking.

It hasnt changed for about 70 years
The Balfour declaration prohibits the removal or relocation of existing citizens. International law prohibits the removal or relocation of existing citizens. In 1878 the Jewish population of Palestine was a minuscule 0.2% . It was only just prior to the creation of Israel that the UN in an unprecedented resolution created Israel. The UN gave 55% of Palestine to the 30% new immigrants. But that wasn’t enough. Jewish professor Ilan pappe Phd researched and proved that no Palestinian leaders asked their people to leave willingly, they were violently forced to leave.
This is the official Ottoman census of 1878 indicated the following demographics for the Jerusalem, Nablus, and acre districts:
Muslim. 403,795. 85.5%
Christian. 43,659. 9.2%
Jewish. 15,001. 3.2% (3% are Palestinian jews)

Those people and civilians being killed after the recent Hamas-Isreal violence were going to be kicked out of there homes once Israel gets their hands on them.

British foreign policy was pretty much a teacher leaving the class and telling the kids to stay quiet and get along
What inspired this approach? It was the anti-imperialists who were desperate to get out and just abandon these places to their fate. @@benjames5423 what’s incorrect about anything I’ve said? I’m no imperialist if that’s what you’re thinking. Its a fact that it was a Labour government who pulled out of India and negotiated the Palestine mandate. Both were botched because they were done hastily partly due to the significant pressure from anti-imperialist elements on the left to grant independence immediately. After WW2 the days of the empire were numbered, but the speed and rushed manner with which independence was granted is undoubtedly a factor in many of the conflicts today.
