    John, lots of construction happening in Culver City, might be worth checking out. Amazon Studios is building a campus on Ince Blvd, it’s taking up about 4-5 blocks. It’s down the street from Trader Joe’s. Approx 85% complete. HBO moved their HQ to Venice and National, it’s a brand new structure. Apple took up some office space one block down on Washington and National. Signage is out front. North of Culver City, Google is taking over the Westside Pavilion shopping mall and converting it to office space.
    Just a FYI if you need some points of interest for content.

      @@derickcastro3637 Depends on what you plan to use the line for. Los Angeles World Airways will have their entire elevated, 6-station, two-and-a quarter mile People Mover up and running years before Metro gets their connecting station built. In other words, if you plan to ride the Crenshaw Line directly to the airport connection without taking yet another interim shuttle, forget it for at least the next four years.
      A second issue--which initially wasn't Metro's fault--is the necessity to build a bridge for the line at Centinela due to anticipated traffic to and from Sofi Stadium. The planning and even partial construction of the line predates that massive development. Let's just say that Metro has been slow to come up with the solution and completely out of whack when coordinating planning and construction around existing delays--i.e., the 96th St People Mover transfer station.
      This project really is the poor stepchild of Metro service priorities. Be happy if you can ride the line from end to end in time for the 2028 Olympics.

    This will not open for like 2 more years

  • @ES-hr6vg
    @ES-hr6vg Před 3 lety +1

    The project will open over 3 years later than projected completion date. I’m over it. Metro and all associated construction agencies have shit the bed on this one. And they’re going to have to shut a large portion of it down after it’s open very shortly anyway. If this is a prelude of things to come with other metro projects we are in for a lot of other disappointments regarding project timelines.

      This is nothing new.
      What ever the government is in charge of takes so long, like the freaking unemployment office now.

    • @theexmann
      @theexmann Před 3 lety

      I agree, a lot has gone wrong with this line, but most of that is not Metro's fault per se. The construction repairs are not their fault, it's the contractors'. That after-the-fact grade separation is happening because of pushback from the city of Inglewood based on data that it would seriously negatively impact traffic from the new stadium and proposed arena going forward. Of course, both of those projects weren't in the picture when the light rail route design had already been approved. Still, the end result, is a much delayed opening even if it is for good reasons.

    • @ES-hr6vg
      @ES-hr6vg Před 3 lety

      @@theexmann you could argue the NO construction delay is ever Metro’s fault by that metric then. The bridge at Centinela is one thing, but we’re basically going to be down nearly 5 full years of complete use of the line during this decade. That’s inexcusable whether you fault Metro, LAWA, Turner, Inglewood or Randy’s Donuts. Ultimately it will have taken 11 YEARS for the line to be fully operational.

      @theexmann Před 3 lety

      @@ES-hr6vg True, and I said as much. I'm just saying that it's not all Metro's fault either. There is a lot of blame to go around.
