- Here is a look at the construction and demolition progress of NASCAR's former Auto Club Speedway. Built in the 90s with its final race in Feb. of 2023, it has now begun a transformation due to much of the land being bought and redevelopment. There is talk of a short track that will be built but nothing yet is in concrete.

Rest in Peace... Greg Moore
I used to love all the exotic cars driving up and down cherry ave
It’s a shame too. They’re basically taking away the speedway and turning it into a Frankenstein monster short track combining Martinsville and Bristol. Like how and why? At least I saw a race there before it closed.
Good music choice for a construction video shot in Fontana
Thanks for the video. I drove by there about a month ago and saw that everything was being torn up. I had no idea that it had been shut down.
It's weird to see a stadium abandoned, but not really abandoned.
Should have made it the west coast version of Talladega
I say at this point, try to take the remaining assets of the track, and ship them to Irwindale Speedway. I feel that Irwindale had tremendous potential, and the opportunity is there for the track to become NASCAR and Southern California's premier racing destination.
Kind of sad. Good racing was here.
I agree with you . Nascar is dying.
@@liogonzalez8813that’s why I moved to IndyCar. And I never looked back
Are they still planning on building a short track there?
Yea, I don't know. The newly graded pad for Bldg 1 looks really close to the end of pit road. Im not sure this track will ever be built. Plus, the amount of noise that will bounce off of those tilt up buildings will drive the residents crazy!
John, this is best . catch ya later-🤓
they should build a new speedway like from the Pixar movie Cars of LA international speedway.
That was loosely based on the colosseum which, ironically enough, hosts nascar races now.
Why did they close this track down?
This track could be bigger than Talladega if they use there right
California had one chance they would never allow anther superspeedway unless maybe electric cars!
Fontana…the place where Sammy Hagar grew up.
