I enjoy watching your videos. This one is very well done, very understandable. Thanks for what you do.
I appreciate that gteam53! This is the type of video that I'd like to do more often. I really enjoy making build videos. They take a little more time but are fun to do! THanks so much for watching!
I like your tool reviews; I much more enjoy the build videos. Nice build... thank you.
Thanks so much martinne, Those are some of my favorite one's to do as well. I'd like to do many more of these in the future. Thanks so much for watching!
I have watched your videos mainly for the tool updates. I really liked this video, although I will not be making any planters. I enjoyed your step by step explanation of what you were doing and the reasoning behind the steps. I also enjoyed a video without your obnoxious cousin in the background. I think you did a fantastic teaching job, please keep up the great work.
Thanks so much Pat! I appreciate it. I have fun doing these build videos. They take a little more time to make but they are fun to make. I'm trying to put one out about every other week or so if I can. Thanks for watching!
I’ve probably seen 100 planter builds… yet, I still find myself watching the whole video. Love watching the process and seeing the progression to a final result.
Thanks so much for making it through the entire build. I really like doing these build videos quite a bit. Hope to do more of them in the near future. I've got a laundry list of projects I need to do! Thanks so much for watching as always Damon!
Very well done....easy to follow. A true DIYer's dream. Thanks for all the hard work you put into each vid. Love your property too. I'm jealous.
I appreciate that John! Thanks so much for watching. We love it here too! :)
Great design, ilike the simplicity of the planter
Thanks so much Scott! I appreciate it! Has a little bit of a modern feel to it. That's why I like it. Plus super simple to make! Thanks so much for watching!
speechless!! going to give it a go thanks for the video!!
Oh nice! Best of luck to you sergio! Thanks so much for waching!
Great job Bryan it turned out great. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Jim! I appreciate you watching as always! Have a great weekend!
Very nice! Nice to see your land and the gator too!
Thanks so much Jason! I appreciate you watching!
Great video man. Enjoyed the build. You have a very good presence on your video.
You are very kind! thank you for the compliment and thanks for watching thewesternwoodworker!
Nice looking flower boxes.... cedar is a fun wood to play with, but it is brittle. Happy Weekend!
Thank so much Pat! Yes, you are very correct. Especially when their dried out a bit! Have a great weekend!
I love the camera work during the intro. Very nice. Man I need a planer. Gorgeous planer. (I honestly thought that planter was gonna jump off on the back of the gator on the way down the hill, glad it didn't)
Thanks so much Corby! Really apprecaite it. Hope your doing well. I'm actually thinking about smoking some ribs this afternoon. I need to dust off my old smoker!
This was a great build brother. Great job on the video.
Thanks so much Scott, I had fun building it! :). I appreciate you watching!
I really enjoyed this video! Thank you for making a very clear step by step planter build. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
P.s. you have an amazing property. You must have fun mowing all that grass 😅
Thank you so much John! :) Yes, mowing can be a real bear in the summer time. I just mowed for the first time last week. It usually takes me about 3 hours! :(
Good job
Thanks so much Vern! I appreciate it!
Looks great glad to see ya back to your roots of building the wife wants a couple of these and it’s definitely spring here in Florida. What’s the saying I just need more time!😂
Haha! Don't we all. Well, I may be joining you in Florida soon. My wife and I are exploring the options of moving down to Ft. Myers. Of course as soon as I get my shop built she wants to move! :(
Nice!
Thanks so much Timothy! I appreciate you watching!
Nice build! I've built several raised planters but haven't stained them. Going to have to give this a try. I usually shoot mine with a clear coat just to keep them from weathering as quickly as they can here in Central Texas.
Great idea! I really like that gunstock stain. I've used it on oak as well and it gives a really warm look. Almost looks like elm. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watchign as always Jim!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork Love the gunstock stain. We're considering it for the wood flooring we are talking about doing over the next year or two.
@@Jimc4007 Oh nice! That would look really nice I bet. I'm sure it would give a room a really warm look!
Love it! I'm going to "steal" your idea and make one for our patio. By the way, my Deez Nutz T-Shirt arrives today!
Please steal it and make it better! That’s what I did with someone else’s idea a few years ago! Thanks again for getting the shirt! Really appreciate it afpittbull!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork Creativity is great, but plagiarism is quicker. LOL I look forward to wearing the shirt. I'm sure to get a double-take or two. Have a great day!
@@afpitbull60 Haha! One of the reasons pintrest is my best friend! :)
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I won't tell anyone. LOL
Are you located in Charlotte?
Hey Flynndogg do you have a link for that black tape measure?
Hewy Corby - I sure do. I've been using this one more and more because it is much easier to see on the camera. Really like how easy it is to read: amzn.to/3Ufcfet
Dogg, man, spring is when a man's fancy turns to...we're sure it's not woodworking. Flower boxes, ugh...can you eat the flowers? It's a nice build and a great looking box. We are wondering why you needed to carry the box down to the shop. Heck you have at least a hundred tapes and/or lasers and, we assume, a note pad. We're going to tell you the truth...this video was killing us. No push-up opportunities and we will, most likely, never make something like this. However, we did think that these could be made into pet caskets. You'd make a killing because you know how folks love their animals. Hope we helped the algorithm by watching til the end.
OMG, I about lost it with the pet caskets! I’m rolling over here too funny. I’m not a flower guy either. Maybe h should put some tomatoes in these guys. Last time I tried to do a garden it produced really well…. For the chickens. Didn’t think that chickens would be so interested in gardening. 😂. Thanks as always for making me smile this afternoon!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork Well, we here, really enjoy your stuff and you. I'm telling you pet caskets are a money maker. Problem could become that you'd need to have a production shop to keep up with the demand.
@@themeat5053 I can only imagine. Old Batesville Castket isn't too far from me. Just about an hour away. They make half the worlds caskets! :)
I don't know where you get your Cedar pickets, but they are not anywhere close to 3/4 of an inch anymore, they are more like a 1/2 to 5/8 of an inch, and rough on both sides.
That's how thick mine were. The 3/4 inch material came from the cedar dimensional lumber, not the planks. All the plans were .55 inches.
