I have this set. Bought it years ago.
Oh nice! Thanks for watching Joseph!
I bumped my plastic push stick on the table saw blade as I finished cutting a board and then blade was still running (I looked down to turn off the saw.) It splintered and a piece hit my goggles!! Thank goodness I was wearing them, I always do!! So I made one out of wood just because I find lately I cut smaller pieces close to the top of the piece of wood and I feel it’s better to cut wood than plastic! But believe me, I’ll never take my eyes off the push stick again!!!
Thanks so much for sharing Jelias! Glad you are ok! Thank goodness you were wearing your safety goggles! :)
Great advice 👍. With the current lack of vocational training available in public schools. Things like this are very necessary. Some older woodworkers may feel like no duh. They just take such safety advice as being secondary. Younger people just don't know enough about working with power equipment. For that matter a lot of older woodworkers were never trained. Just watch some of the content online.
I know right. One of my favorite classes in junior high was shop and I actually enjoyed home ec too. Although I did make some biscuits and gravy with sugar in that class. Probably best i stuck with the shop stuff than the home ec stuff! :) THanks for watching cwb8047!
Dogg, man, good advice for novice woodworkers. I like the price point; although it seems like a lot of new woodworkers have more money than we do starting out as they have some of the most expensive tools on the market. I'm glad you're not really a Festool guy (way too pricey for what it is).
Yeah, Festool is pretty pricy. Kind of like in that woodpeckers range. There are two tools that I do think are quite worth it from festool and that is the track saw and the domino joiner. Although, I don't use my domino joiner nearly enough to justify how much I spent on it. So maybe just the track saw. I'd like to try out that Wen track saw, and really see how well it compares to the festool.
@@FlynndoggWoodwork The WEN seems to perform pretty well. You could watch our buddy, Mike, from "Projects for All." He gave it pretty good marks. Then there is another CZcamsr, with too much money, named John Malecki, he also reviews the WEN vs. Festool. Have a great weekend!
@@themeat5053 Haha! I'll have to check out Mike's video. I haven't watched John in a while! Ever since he lost his two assistants, I kind of lost interest. I think one of them has their own youtube channel now.
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I didn't know that and sometimes John just spews woodworking misinformation; but he is entertaining (and has too much money).
@@themeat5053 Playing for the steelers I guess pays off! :)
I heard horror stories about those plastic push sticks. And by the look of it so have you my friend, just take a look what kind of what’s behind you that (green push) push stick looks like a certain higher end and way more expensive than these orange color ones. And are made of totally different materials
I’ve heard those stories too, but I still think these push sticks are better than not having them. Thanks so much for watching
@@FlynndoggWoodwork very true but still dose not answer my question. Keep on keeping on…
@@bibiyeya5388 Oh sorry I've got a variety of them. The green ones are made by Bow, they are great, have a hard rubber surface. Here is a link if you want to check them out: amzn.to/43UODyZ
Get the rust off your jointer tables!!!
I know right. This is the first summer where I’ve had all my equipment in a climate controlled environment. Time to break out the wd40 and sand paper!
