GOOD MORNING AMERICA'S HOMEPAGE:

He killed his granddaughter, plead guilty to killing her but now is suing the cruise line. Only in America SMDH
The law suit was first, he pleaded guilty, to spare the family. They released a video supposedly leaning out the window.
to be fair it's the little people who bear the brunt of this litigious society by far
@@solgato5186midgets?
It is so unbelievable that these people are trying to sue the cruise line when the grandfather is on video leaning out of the window. Makes zero sense. And anyone who has been on a cruise knows how obvious it is when a window is open. Makes it hard to sympathize.
An open window is an open window. Regardless where it is. The baby couldnt reach the window in this instance to climb or look out of it. An if she could she dosent really know what she is looking at. So how the grandpa could possibly not realize the window was open is a total lie. He leaned out an over it look himself before picking up the baby an putting her out the window. If it was closed. Duh he would of hit the window. An not of been able to go thru an lean out of it. He is a bad lier, an idiot and a killer. Poor little baby.
He's a grandfather..... he probably had a bad memory
@@jessv221Then he should not have been entrusted with childcare, at all.
They acted like they just wanted this horrible trial in the past. But now they’re suing the cruise ship. You gotta be kidding me. “My daughters dead, let me see how much money I can make off this.”
Go mourn your child, you have no one else to blame but grandpa
So what, you're saying they should go home empty-handed while their kid is dead? That's stupid. Get something out of it at least
Why are they suing the cruise line? It's not their fault
@Andrew Kiss my ass I'm not American but I noticed that people in America love to sue everyone. I would hate to be a business owner there because of fear of being sued for the slightest things even if it was clearly not my fault! I think it's ridiculous tbh
Why are they suing the cruise line when it is clearly his fault?
Potentially negligent and violation of regulations regarding ship procedures as to window glass being in place, not missing, and or secured. It looks like although there was no window glass, there maybe should have been. take a look at the adjacent windows with glass in place. Thay would be the gist of the claim
@@miketabacco5436Regulations do not ban open windows, as long as up to three feet off the ground is enclosed, or has railings. I hope that they lose their suit, they should.
He leaned out the window to look outside how is he saying he thought it was closed?
Idk man 🤷♂️
What? He leaned out the window oh know
Exactly! This makes no sense. And then the family is suing the cruise line!

Or standing your toddler inside the cart and they fall out and die even though they have signs posted not to in multiple languages. . I have seen this way too many times and then people will blame Walmart. Ridiculous.
he wasn’t the little girl’s grandfather. he was the grandmother’s boyfriend.
The grandfather goes to the window put his head out the window, than picks up the little girl and hold her out the window and she falls....in the video that you didn’t show...his head out the window... come on now....grandpa should have tried to say he accidental dropped her verses saying there was a window he stuffed his head and her little body through but thought there was a window....I guess now the family is going to blame the cruise line to sue for money. There is something wrong with this family...
The kid probably got startled and suddenly shifted out of his hands this was a accident caused by not thinking it's no one's fault but the grandfather he will be scarred be this and feel like crude for the rest of his life.
You're right. I felt really bad for him at first. But then I saw the video and no getting around it, it totally looks like he did it on purpose.
@@resablue I sincerely hope that he feels much worse than crude for what he did. He literally murdered this sweet baby girl.
@Ismael Ausua the whole family seems super sketchy. the grandpa and how the woman cried.
Yup,I feel for them grieving and it truly is an accident yet grandpa still seems to lie since the plea deal already states no jailtime and he wants full closure, for what definite reason he has to lie still? All I can think of is the lawsuit on the cruiseship co.they are filing. They want closure and appeasement yet he derailed the story for what intentions...uhh $$$$$? My eldest baby was born with bone deficiency and broke her leg the day after she was born in the hospital so they put her in a half body cast, they admitted it was during the nurse’s handling to my wife that’s why she was crying a lot.A friend got me an attorney for lawsuit and told me they were ready to settle out of court for big sum money then. But upon discovery of the deficiency which was rare then Ostheo genessis that she was born with,I decided not to push thru with the lawsuit. It’s the right thing to do,I just asked the hospital to help us look for a specialist doctor and assure us that we’ll always be welcomed in case we bring her there. She did suffered a lot almost every other month she has fracture and got surgeries putting metal rods inside the bones legs and arms.Still fractures occured and thank God she overcame them after puberty. Now even if she’s in a wheelchair she’s doing great and studying law in Maryland. She’s even driving her own car. I really believe that I did the right thing, not going for the lawsuit and it feels great too! Don’t let money blind you, even if life is hard it’s better to live with a clear conscience all the time.🙏✌️
The family and grandpa seemed sketchy when they sued the cruise ship. Grandpa seemed to lie about being colorblind and not knowing window was open. They lost the case because of the video showing he lied to the media. And pleading guilty only to escape jail time because the jury would convict him for sure. The video was crucial evidence to expose liars. The only innocent was the girl and the cruise ship.
Perfectly said.
i made a comment above before i looked into this.. straight away i thought are they trying to claim for negligence? and then i do some research and i yes they was.. wow.. he should and the whole family involved in this..should face jail time.. sounds to me like a plan.. gone wrong
I'm shocked! No prison time for granddad?! What an age we live in.
Crimes and murder are not punishable anymore. If you are punished, its little time an slapped on the hand. An forget about dialing 911. Nobody will come. The only thing you can rely on is you an ya better be packin.
I knew all along the grandfather was lying, terrible terrible terrible what happened to that poor little girl, I felt for the grandfather until I heard they were trying to sue the cruise line for negligence when all along it was him.
That is the problem with Americans It's never their fault its always someone else's fault.. sue sue sue
@Trains Planes and Other Things that's rude. I'm going to sue.
Wiping away those tears with cash.
So he lost his grip?
He knew it was open.
He made a horrible mistake.
He lied to shift blame & sue for millions of $$$.
Imagine suing the cruise line for something they didn't do.
Happens all the time and people actually win
Very sad situation but I hope the family doesn't get a dime for what the grandfather did!!
Life in prison, his last last name and papers shredded, and all his money to the mother and father sick
Imagine them winning the case, and the grandfather goes on a vacation with the blood money.
I'd be supportive of the cruise line recovering libel money from the grandfather.
I don't sympathize with stupid.
I do, if the stupidity is acknowledged and the experience is used for personal growth.
Sam Anello has never taken responsibility for his action. I have no pity for him.
Not even a little. I don't think he intended to let her slip from his grip, but he knew that window was open. He knew.
@@anniejuan1817 Blow it out your a-hole! He lied for years that he didn't know the window was open. They even tried to sue the cruise liners. He hasn't learned anything!

Yeah, don't care. There needs to be laws against stupid. I also don't feel sympathy for people who feel sorry for a lying idiot who dropped his baby off the side of a ship.
this sounds like a murder? he lied about the window being open.. how could you not tell anyway.. he lied and said he didn't realise it was open but cctv showed that he leaned over out of the window before he got his grand daughter ? why ? did he want to do it and make it look like an accident.. was they trying to sue the cruise company for negligence? this doesn't sound right at all.. and courts needed to be tougher.. a little girl has died..
I wouldn't even let my cat get anywhere near an open 11th floor window. 🐱
The cruise line should counter sue the family for all they put the company through.
Good no jail time. That's a good judge.
He shouldn't have been charged in the first place but this is the best ultimate outcome.

He dropped a baby. Who drops a baby?
Not something I've ever seen.
People drop babies sometimes. Just not out of open windows.
Yeah, we saw the video, old man... The only negligence was on his part, I'd say he went beyond just negligence, like an alcoholic driving a car, crashing and killing people, it's negligence but you definitely have a lot of blame. I mean, he threw her out of a window! He got away with murder.
@G V Did you see the video? I did. He totally threw the kid out the window.
The bible and forgiveness to sooth the soul only way
The grandfather knew their was no glass because he stuck his head out. It was like he was checking to make sure their was no glass. This is murder. The parents are either in on it for money through a lawsuit or they love grandpa more then their own daughter.
He is not even the biological grandfather , he is the stepdad of the baby mother .
I agree with above statement. The grandfather did it either for money or perhaps he was psychologically unbalanced...
I don’t point the gun at anyone or myself even if it’s not loaded or on safety.

@Agent J you’re so stupid did. He said he never points a gun at someone unloaded or loaded. I said that’s what you’re supposed to do. How does that promote suicide?
If it was a genuine accident, the grandfather will be jailed for life in his mind. There is no way to come back from something like this. May the family find peace one day.
jailed for life he should be.. but he is a white man and the parents standing by him.. sounds like a plan they all had to sue cruise liner.. i would not be surprised if this family has money issues all round...
That wasn't an accident. He picked up and put they baby out the window.
Maybe he could use a couple years alone time to get over his grief.
I cannot believe he murdered this child in front of all those people, rest in peace little girl, somebody should be in jail.

If they had not sued the cruise line, the father would probably not have been charged.
They were greedy, and this is the result.
The only reason he was charged is so that the Cruise Ship will have leverage in the civil suite.
That's terrible.. even in a tragedy like this when you boil away the bullshit it's still about the money 😢
@Shaz Why was the window open?
No, that is not true. The DA in San Juan was already investigating with the scope of pressing charges before anyone even dreamed of them filing a civil law suit.
@@Iamrightyouarewrong why though? He's right!
What a sad story all around.
Very unfortunate situation for everyone but it was the grandpa's fault. Why did he even pick her up and hold her up that high many feet in the air? It was negligence on his part and HOW DARE the family try to sue or even say that it was the cruise lines fault....... Take responsibility for your own actions and stop trying to hurt others (the cruise line) that were not at fault to begin with!!😔😕
It's entirely possible for grandpa and the cruise line to both be guilty of negligence. At least I'm sure that's what they will argue.
@@jacksonheathen2092 This situation is REALLY hard I get it but let me get this straight the cruise line is at fault just for having the windows that are up high open??🤔🤔🤔 The grandpa was the one who lifted her up, his fault and I would even argue if the baby is able to climb up on his/her own he/she should still be watched by an adult. I understand it's a hard situation but I'm sorry it's the grandpas fault.....
@@britneysprsfan1forever415 I'm not defending baby tossing grandpa. He's definitely responsible (in fact he should probably be in prison). Even though it was clearly an accident, that grandfather is an idiot for even placing his granddaughter over a cruise ship window in the first place. I find this case heartbreaking. It was clearly an accident, but the parents suing Carnival forced their hand in filing suit against the grandpa. Now these poor parents have lost their daughter and father. It most likely would have been declared an accident if the parents hadn't sued. Grandpa plead guilty to avoid any more pain to the family. Poor little baby girl. Never really experienced anything. I hope her soul becomes a mermaid on a journey of love and happiness!!!
I saw the video from another angle 1:12 First of all he CLEARLY leaned out the window for 9 seconds before picking her up. The fact that he claims he didn't know it was open is a red flag. The fact that the family immediately took his side then blamed the airline (especially after seeing the video) shows that if he was a covert narcissist he's got them right where he wants them and could easily plan an accident knowing they're firmly manipulated into sticking up for him. No one's is going to suspect you if the victims only family is convincing everyone your innocent. Only God knows the truth but people need to stop assuming just because someone looks innocent in pictures and acts nice in front of others doesn't mean you should believe them. You all really think he intentionally meant for the child to fall? Ridiculous. He's taking responsibility for his negligence and you guys claim it's a plot. Crazy.
@David DeVito Sick? Honestly, give some logic to the situation. People play around with their kid all the time. Toss a toddler in the air while making silly faces. The toddler would have fallen upside down and broke his/her neck, would the parent be a monster for just playing with his/her child? It's good that he's taking responsibility. That's the actions of a man that's know what he's done and will regret every moment of his life. Your opinion, is your opinion.
I saw this a year and a half ago, at first he said he did not know the window was open so he was lying, then they try to sue the cruise line for negligence, it was his fault he knew the window was open when he put his granddaughter out there and dropped her.
