🤔 ABOUT LOCATION REBEL 👇
For the past 10 years at www.locationrebel.com I've taught people just like you how to build a lifestyle business and become a digital nomad. There are a lot of ways we do this depending on your goals, skills and interests, but some of the most common businesses are built around freelance writing, niche sites, affiliate marketing and blogging.
Our primary goal is to help you get to the point where you're making $3-5k a month as quickly as possible, because after that? You have options.
My name is Sean Ogle, and I'm the founder of Location Rebel. I'm a location independent entrepreneur from Portland, Oregon and I travel 3-4 months out of the year and take my business with me wherever I go. On this channel you'll learn exactly how to build a similar business and do it from some pretty sweet destinations as well.

This is really great info. I especially like the point about being a generalist. Almost every freelance video I watched said to "niche down." While it has its place as you further explained, there is plenty of room for the generalist. Being able to do some research and come up with a stellar article about a topic you knew nothing about, is indeed a unique gift.
I always get stuck on choosing a niche. And trying to find the confidence to move forward.
Absolutely just made my day with that Proofreading credit! :D
Btw, love the new background from the treehouse!
A LOT of great information, thank you!
Enjoyed the video! Very entertaining! Thanks for the information.
You are a natural my friend. Love your videos; the pitch, the setting, the background, all of it. So informative.
I would love to write for your golf site.
Thanks George! That means a lot!
LOVE your treehouse office!
Just found your videos this afternoon. Devouring them! Thank you!
7 content types:
1) Content generalist
2) Niche blogging
3) B2B writing
4) Technical writing
5) Copy writing
6) Ghost writing
7) SEO; Search Engine Optimization writing
Thank you!
Thank you very much!
I would love to see updated videos. Your information is very valuable
I did two ghost writings unknowingly when I was a young teenager. It was for two funerals. I am really good at emotional writing I just never thought to get into writing as a career until now at 31 years old. So excited to begin this journey. ☺️
Ghosts n funerals do add up!
How can I get a ghost writing link
Eye opener for me, a newbie. I hope to learn more about writing. Love the background.
Concise, informative and exciting - just like a true writer!!!
Love the treehouse Sean😁👍🏿
Excellent Video! The Ghostwriter show reference made me laugh hysterically. Heavy nostalgia vibes.
I'm loving your videos and just subscribed. I write for an agency, but your videos are giving me ideas for side hustles, etc.
Hey Sean, like the info.
Super helpful. You filled in the gaps for me, and you increased my confidence. I have a niche in mind, but I like hearing you say that a generalist can do well too. Onward!
Great information. New sub here!
Thank you!! I could write in that treehouse all day!!! Subbed!
Your treehouse background is interesting 👍
Thanks a lot
Love the trees in the background... but how do you get any writing done? Ha. I would just sit and stare out those windows at the beauty outside! You are fortunate.
I would say, Location Rebel rocks!!!
Love the setup and the tips! Thanks :)
Thanks Hava!
Sean! Great video, as they all are. Have you done all of these types of writing? Just curious. Thanks!
Well done...a little education, entertainment and encouragement all for 12 minutes! Gonna move from my PI biz into one of the Big 7. Peace.
You're the best brother! I actually just finished the book you recommended in a different video called Persuasion. It was excellent and definitely just one of the many books that I'll continue to read, along with my ongoing work to building a freelance writing business one day at a time! 💪
thank YOU for saying b2b!!! this has opened up a brand new category for me to pitch! YAY! I am pitching blog writing and LinkedIn article writing service.
Sweet office! Thanks for the info, great video.
Appreciate it Gregory!
thanks bro
Ghostwriting. Hmmm. I spent nearly 20 years in recruiting. Last few years spent interviewing experienced, high-level candidates--and then writing up the notes from those interviews. Received _countless_ compliments from hiring managers on my ability to ask the "right" questions and elicit insightful/revealing answers. I love engaging with people this way, so maybe...ghostwriting could be a way for me to go..? First I've thought of it--thank you, Sean! ❤️
I'm digging the tree house vibe.
Every time I watch your channel, I'm amazed by how much it helps and entertains me! Your content not only provides valuable insights but also never fails to bring a smile to my face. Thank you for creating such a fantastic and enjoyable experience. Keep up the great work! and maybe i will find your contents valuable and start making money .
Tree house office looks great
This video has been 2 years!? Gosh.... didn't feel that quite a long time ago... Your video really helps me bro. A nobody from Southeast Asia who do freelance writing and not it become my main source of income. Although I haven't made six figures yet because most of my clients are from local.
I like the tree house background 😊
It's our favorite part about the new house, feels like we live in a treehouse! ha
How do you market yourself as a generalist?
Top notch advice brother, been following it for years and living the dream. Always willing to write something for ya for golf or whiskey 🥃
Thanks dude! I may just have some whiskey stuff for you....
@@LocationRebel how about whiskey and cigars?!?!
Where can we find a job related to general specialist?
Although I'm still heading down the path of technical writing, B2B writing has captured my interest. I can even see doing both in the industries I'm interested and experienced in. Thanks for the continued info and encouragement that this is a great path to follow!
You can absolutely do both! And those are ones where there's definitely some crossover.
@@LocationRebel I can definitely see them combining well. Sounds like an ideal direction for me because I find that kind of stuff more interesting than what a lot of other writers are going after.
I love u pal my favorite topics r investment firms & weed thank you.
that spin around in the chair actually made me like your video.
Interesting...
Working on developing #5 myself. Definitely not for the faint of heart. It's the hardest to learn, but super rewarding once you get into it. And the $$$$ is there :)
100%! One of the best things you can do is be aware of the things that persuade you. What headlines got you to click? What emails sold you on something? Make notes of that and ask yourself what about it hooked you - and then use those things in your own writing.
@@LocationRebel thank you for the advice 🙏
Thank you God.
I think the background is cool as hell
Still have some tweaks, but I've got a pretty good canvas to work from ha
My college degree is in Criminal Justice- I'm not sure if I can and how I can use it to find writing jobs.
I would elbow people out of my way for an office with that kind of view! 😍 I love it!
Yeah I'm pretty stoked on it. Just have to figure out what to do with the rest of the room!
Hey I'm a beginner in email copy writing, how do I start learning?
How do I start practicing??
How do I start training?
And be hired by clients ?
So I don't know nothing about golf , is it something I can learn about and write about in a moderate time span ?
how can no one talk about the place wow!
I'm really wanting to give Freelance Writing a shot, but my self esteeme and anxiety is like; "are you sure about that?"
I missed your videos.
You're not the only one! I've missed doing them. Excited to get back into a better routine in the next week or so.
Hey can I learn copywrite from you ?
Plzz give me some idea as a new writer what should i do first
That depends are you just trying to become a better writer, or are you trying to get freelance clients?
@@LocationRebel Sir,give me some better idea! How to start content writing? And I am from Bangladesh?
1) Subscribe to the LocationRebel Channel.
2) Watch relevant videos on 'what to do first'.
3) Go to locationrebel.com/hi, register, and get to work on living your dream!
Oh god...🙄
So I've gotta ask:
If you've "gotten really good at building businesses that can get to the $100-200k threshold" (which, by the way, that LRA article has a typo and reads "2ook"... *SMH* ...how are we supposed to trust a Writer who uses letters where numbers should be?! 🤔), and presumably you're raking in over $1M by now, how's come your wife had to go back to work from Maternity Leave?
Did you mean, like, doing laundry and dishes and shit, as a goodly wife should!
{I'm being facetious, people. Don't hate!}
It's a rhetorical question, of course; I assume she's partnering with you in LRA (as well as TLF, and TLA), but it seemed an odd insight coming from a man of such implied success, especially given the subject matter for this video.
Anyway, if not, I hope she properly presses and folds. 😃
Congrats on the baby!
In all sincerity, I wish you, your hard-working wife, and your family The Best!
Assuming a bite is what you were after, here's one for you... could be his wife enjoys working, some people do. She may be a devoted teacher, lawyer, or, I dunno, has a passion for her own catering business. Not to mention, it feels good to get out of the house, especially if there's a baby in it. Might sound strange to some, but there are plenty of us out here who enjoy working.
