The case lights are on and the USB mouse lights are also turn on as soon as I plug the PC in the wall, before I even press the power button. I've tried changing the CMOS battery and switching the RAM, breadboarding the motherboard, trying to turn on the computer just with the basic stuff connected, but no luck

So my pc turned on for a split second like the main problem was. So I unplugged the 24 pin cable, the ssd cable, the ram, and gpu. Then plugged them back in. It then ran longer for like ten seconds. If someone could help me with what’s going on please do

Could it also be caused by a CPU chip not being seated right in its socket?

  • @HappyHappyPanda88

this is not specifically the problem with turning on and off. This is basic troubleshooting for all types of issue to see if maybe by chance you've resolved it by one of the steps. I'm sorry but i was looking for a solution to your title not basic troubleshooting for everything else.

Ok, I have watched lots of videos and read lots of solutions and nothing seem to work for me. I press the start button CPU fan spins and speaker beeps continuously and no display. In seconds it shuts down and restarts over and over again. I have changed CPU, PSU, ram and hard drive. The one thing I have notice is when I take off the CPU cooler and start the motherboard, the CPU does not get warm or hot to the touch., is that a sign of something ? I really hope you can help me if not I will just buy another motherboard. Thank you for your time.

Not gonna lie, i tried installing a led strip while the pc is on, then it suddenly turned off and open for half a second, after searching a lot i saw a comment to unplug the cpu power cable and turn on the pc ( it won't turn off ) then put back the cable while it's still on but after putting it back it will be just the same issue, btw i did every solution in the video and tested the ps works fine, do u think its a mobo problem ):?

Hey i had the same problem i started after there was a power fluctuation at home. I had spare PSU and i plugged it in to see if the same problem occur and it did, so i guess my power supply is fine. I tried unplugging my ram and re inserted it into different slots still no change same problem. Now i have my system completely dis assembled. I am going to try replacing the thermal gel now and if this doesnt work i am going to perform a post test.. Any comments? do you think i am missing anything basic ?
