I wait for your monthly reading vlogs from 25th of every month and keep checking youtube couple of times a day from the first for the new vlog. Love watching you make coffee and hearing the sounds of grinding and brewing coffee. If you are the heroine, zeus is the hero and books are the plot.

Ooh I'd love to see your library too please! I like to see how libraries differ from country to country :) do you use the Copenhagen library or a local one? And I'm so pleased you picked up some more Bryson, I laugh so much when I'm reading his books (and I'm like you, I don't usually enjoy humour in books).

I am happy to see you using the Library so much these days...I must make at least 3-4 trips a week (I use to work there so it feels like home) Most of my reading comes from the Library..it's great to send a book back when it's just not the right time or the right book. You have me wanting to read some Bill Bryson! Loved the Zues show..he has the most beautiful eyes ever...and definitely a charmer :)

I'm so pleased that you enjoyed "in a sunburnt country". It was my introduction to Bill Bryson and although his other books are enjoyable, none are quite as good as that one imho 😜
I hope you had a great birthday, Helene.---I'm very interested in "The Upstairs Room". My library didn't have a copy last time I checked but it's time to check again.---Great to see Zeus in the cupboard! I used to house-sit for a couple who had cats and the cats would open a cabinet in the kitchen and sit in the dark among the pots and pans.---I'll have to check also for "Hired". It sounds like a counterpart to the American book "NIckel & Dimed" by Dr. Barbara Ehrenreich who took entry level jobs around the United States to experience the life of the working poor.
Yes, I own and have read "Nickel & Dimed" and loved it for those same reasons I'm talking about in the video :) I hope you get a copy of "The Upstairs Room" soon..

Hi there Helene. How are you doing? Thank you so much for another great video. I wanted to let you know that I unfortunately had to put down the audio book Stalking Jack the Ripper because I had a hard time getting into the characters. However, I do have some great news, I am now on chapter 17 of the Great Alone by Kristin Hannah, which I love so much. I am also listening to the book the Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock, which has also been great to read, so thank you so much for telling me about those. Julie
You're very welcome! And I completely understand about the "Jack the Ripper" book. That series is targeted towards YA and is somewhat silly, but I liked how it followed the original story pretty closely :)

My cat knows when we are going to have a tuna sandwich and she berates us until she gets some of her own. Does Zeus do that to you? Or is he more mellow about it? I love your vlogs, in fact when. I feel I need a pick me up, I tend to rewatch your vlogs.
I don't like Phillip Pullman at all, although I read only one book by him (The Golden Compass) . He attacks C.S. Lewis mainly because of Lewis' Christian ideas. I don't like books with a daemon conversing with a young girl (this was her inner self?), and this was presented as a good thing. I'm not sure if my memory is completely accurate, but I think that is at least partially what the book is about. It was about ten year ago that I read that book (my memory may not be completely accurate). C.S. Lewis has always been one of my favorite authors .Why didn't Pullman leave him alone even if he disagreed with him? Pullman is a bit too arrogant for me. Why attack The Chronicles of Narnia because they are Christian and you don't like them? No one is forcing you to read them. Of course I'm basing my opinion on only one book of Pullman and the things I have read about him, but I don't think my views would change if I read more of his stories.
