Hollow Knight- How to Find Tuk and All Lore Dialogue

- Tuk is a is a Merchant in Hollow Knight and she sells Rancid Eggs for Geo. If you have never found Tuk before I will show you how to find this NPC, all dialogue and explain some lore.
If you didn't know there is a Hollow Knight Prequel Comic. In this comic you will see Quirrel come in contact with another character and make his way into Hollownest:

Tuk can be found scavenging in a hidden room in the Royal Waterways, behind a breakable wall in the upper-right corner of the uppermost section. She sells the Knight Rancid Eggs for 80-100 geo. She will not sell eggs if the Knight has 80 or more in their inventory. She also gives them one for free if they are wearing the Defender's Crest, stating the smell reminds her of the Dung Defender, to whom she is grateful for helping her.
In Steel Soul Mode, Rancid Eggs are no longer required to pay Confessor Jiji and thus no longer useful to buy. As well as the possibility of being able to generate infinite amounts of Geo if it were possible to buys from Tuk and then sell them to Jinn at a higher price. Instead, Tuk is found dead, her corpse infected and cannot be bartered with for eggs. She cannot be interacted with, and only one Rancid Egg is found on her body.

Tuk’s friend is Jinn, Jinn makes a reference saying his friend loves to eat the nasties(rancid eggs). Tuk gives you rancid eggs, calling them food. Jinn only accepts the eggs because it reminds him of a friend.
Tuk is searching for Jinn

How do you even use them?
Pixel Treason You give them to Confessor Jiji in Dirtmouth, when you do, she can summon your unrecovered shade, so you don’t have to go for it in case it’s too far or it’s in a dangerous zone you don’t want to go back

Through my playthrough of hollow knight I have NEVER heard of or seen tuk thru the game or across the hk community. Nice to know thats theres an npc that I never knew about

I always thought that Tuk was looking for the fluke merchant (an npc that occasionally spawns where the god seeker is found) as the fluke merchant mentions fleeing from an infected person (steelsoul tuk) and tuk may be looking for the fluke merchant and wants her to apologize for fleeing
Edit: the fluke merchant also says that the person she fled from used to sell things (rancid eggs)
Edit edit: Yes, I believe the merchant refers to her as mother and believe it or not, tuk is female

Perhaps the leg eater is the friend tuk is talking about. The leg eater is greedy for geo and tuk seems paranoid about his things being stolen. The leg eater and tuk could have been friends once but the leg eater stole geo from tuk and ran off, leaving tuk to search for the leg eater in Royal waterways when the leg eater actually resides in greenpath. (idk if the lore contradicts this or not, I'm just going off of what lore I do know)

Could be one of the 5 kings knight and maybe someone had took his armor (False Knight) and he is searching for it and that smell remebers his friend (Dung the defender) who left them.
An interesting theory for sure!

- after you’ve completed the patheon of Hollownest, or once the infection started to happen
Then maybe he died to some type of enemy or hollow Knight boss?
But my best guess would be like, he got infected by someone or something...?

I did find him myself, but had to put a mark on the map to remember where he was. XD
And damn! the Defender's Crest combines with everything and gets extra dialogues from every character. XDDDD

Finally a good way to get rid of my geo. I constantly worry about losing all of my geo in a place where I cant reach it, and I cant use jiji since I dont have any simple keys to unlock them. '-'

Nice. I found Tuk but didnt give him Geo for whatever reason and after finding all the wild rancid eggs I only have 2 or 3 left 😭 definitely will be going back to him and getting a lot more reckless against the bosses I'm stuck on 😈🙏🏽
I think I only ever recovered my shade once in the game.
I'm pretty sure Tuk dies of infection even in Normal mode, but later in the game
I bought so many eggs from this dude lol I was sick and tired of dying trying to get back to my shade
Going all the way back to jiji is not fun though

Worth it though for me while geo still mattered since if I died somewhere once it's highly likely I'll die there again before I get my shade back lol also somewhat likely I'll just die somewhere random on my way because I'm freaking terrible haha I think I have like over 200 hours in the game between 2 different save files and I still can't time a pogo perfectly every time

Apparently Tuk is a She.... I guess. I don’t know. I get a lot of info for the description (and this corrections) from the hollow knight wiki. They are bugs so I just mindlessly default to “he”. I really am not marking a comment about their gender or sex or whatever

I remembered buying a yellow egg from sly thinking that it will grow to a big bug. Then until I beat Radiance I never had the chance to use it
But... It'swayyy easier to access the royal waterway from the king station as you only have to go left until you reach the entrance...
I have made videos going from the kings station and people tell me to go from this other way.
I personally though the kings station was easier but just a tiny bit slower. They both work

I found this NPC and didn't have any geo on me, and I had no use for her anyway because I usually didn't use confessor Jiji. I used her once and I have 9 leftover eggs.

Just as a way to bring your shade sole back if it gets stuck in a bad area with a lot of geo. You can give a rancid egg to jiji who will then bring you your shade. I didn’t use it much at all but it is there

You can take them to an NPC named jiji in dirtmouth.
If you die and your shade is left on the map in a place you cant get to,
Give jiji a rancid egg and she will call your shade back to you and allow you to get all your money too.

You can give rancid eggs to Jiji, a vendor in dirtmouth (far right, requires a simple key). If your shade soul is anywhere on the map, she will return it to you for one rancid egg
