The nickname was given to him by teammates because he had an interest in the arts, literature and music that didn't involve Phil Collins. A slight figure who jinked and twisted his way into fans' affections.
Used to watch him at St Jude’s primary school in Barlanark doing the crossbar challenge back in the early 80’s and my family lived next door to his all those years ago
Used to be one of my all time favourite 3 Chelsea players in my years supporting the club. Hazard and Drogba’s inclusion makes it a top 5 nowadays, but there’ll always be a place for wee Pat. John Neal has been largely forgotten by subsequent generations of blues, I will always consider him the man who did as much as anybody to save the club during the utter shite years.
Yes definitely the Scottish Maradona.I think when he was at Everton,PSG try to buy him.He could be the star playmaker in 86(under ferguson),90,96 WC if fergie & roxburgh select him.
Fave player at Chelsea back in the day proper talent even got hes autograph as a kid bunking of school on a Friday and going stamford bridge to watch the team train

Wee pat still loved and adored by all who went to Stamford Bridge in the 1980s football genius💙
How can we have forgotten the genius of this guy. Nearest I ever saw to Jimmy Johnstone.
Always enjoyed his audio musings and take on life . Great guy and that's from a Spurs fan. Take a bow Mr Nevin 👍
