Good nutrition is the secret to both losing fat and gaining muscle, in this video I show you how to eat 6 inexpensive, nutritious meals a day without cooking or shopping. This video is in response to the hundreds of people who have written me saying they knew their nutrition was horrible but felt powerless to improve it because of the schedule constraints of their work, school, or life. Eating 6 small, well balanced meals a day is easy when you know how and once your nutrition is on track you will find it easy to reduce bodyfat to show those 8-pack abs and gain muscle too.
The one thing you need to do though is get rid of the idea that food always has to be tasty. Jack LaLane had a great saying "If it tastes good, spit it out!" and its so true. If something is that good then its most likely got too much sugar, salt, fat or artificial flavors. When something tastes really, really good your first thought should be - "whats in this?". Think about what you are eating! If what makes it taste good is the nasty stuff mentioned above then spit it out. Obviously if you are eating a carrot or an apple and it tastes good this doesnt apply. The saying is designed to make you think about everything you eat. If you dont know what is on the list of ingredients and its nutritional content then SPIT IT OUT!
Here are the meals I eat during the video:
5:00am coffee and protein powder mixed in water (about 100 cals)
6:30am oatmeal with flax and protein powder (about 400 cals)
9:30am mixed frozen vegetables with spaghetti sauce and protein powder mixed in water (about 400 cals)
12:00 shredded wheat with nonfat milk, flax, and protein powder (about 400 cals)
2:30pm can of kidney beans and raisins (about 300 cals)
5:00pm dried soybeans and raisins (about 300 cals)
7:30pm mixed frozen vegetables with spaghetti sauce and protein powder mixed in water (about 300 cals)
9:00pm protein powder mixed in water (100 cals)

Good show Scooby you look your very best without a shirt or undershirt. With a physique like that along with a nice skin tone you should never wear a shirt or undershirt. Using them for rags in the shop is a good use for them. Your physique is what really sells your videos. Respectively.

+lusteraliaszero What exactly has Scooby said that is "pseudo-science" ? You don't know that there is not much bodybuilding research out there because is it not profitable? as the drug industry for example and most money invested is to make fake research to "market" some supplement? Scooby has over 30 years of "real experience" and that is worth more than the opinion of some out of shape so called "scientist".

The benefit to eating this way exemplifies the # 1 mistake I see most people who don't obtain their desired physique make all of the time..KNOWING how much you've eaten. Everything Scooby has eaten here has a fairly accurate nutritional label mapped to it. I HATE going out to eat, you have no idea how many calories were really in that burger or Chicken Alfredo, NONE.. You can't just eat the RIGHT food, you need to know how MUCH you've eaten. If you don't know exactly what you've eaten, how can you be so naïve as to expect to achieve the exact physique that you want ?

The best discovery for me is called intermittent fasting. I used to do the 6 meals a day and I used to be all day long hungry and with bad mood. Now I only do 2 main meals a day and everything is fine. A lot of the times I even train in a fasted state and my strength levels are still in place. For me, knowing that after the sacrifice of not eating during the whole first half of the day I will have a feast that will make me feel full and satisfied, makes me feel relaxed. While eating healthy is a must for overall health (what is the definition of healthy by the way?), we shouldn't forget eating for the soul as well (some "junk food" won't kill you, and it even may make you happier).
Now: definition of healthy --> Why do we consider protein powder as healthy, and then label white rice or white bread as not so healthy?
And: definition of "junk food" --> If you are, let's hypothesize, in a desert in a survival situation and you can choose between having plenty of water and only lettuce (very healthy) to eat, or have plenty of water as well but instead of plenty of lettuce you have plenty of doughnuts ("junk food"). My question is: after 3 months what will make you be still alive the lettuce (very healthy but very very scarce of macros) or the doughnuts?
I would never consider any food whatsoever as something that should go into the bin, which is where we usually put junk. Food is food.

Cheapest and easiest breakfast in a bowl that I have come up with. Throw everything in together -
8 oz plain non fat Greek yogurt, half scoop of whey protein, half cup of uncooked oats, a few scoops of a fiber supplement, a little 2% milk to thin it up a bit, otherwise it is too thick.

Remember, they are busy, they dont have time to cook. They dont have time to wait in line at restaurants because right now they eat out of vending machines. The protein has to be non-perishable because they dont have time to shop more than once a month either. See why protein powder is looking so good????

Scooby thank you for all that you do. I'm not trying to make you angry but I have one question. I want to be in decent shape, I'm 5'7 and 225, but I don't think I want it that bad enough to endure a strict diet. I do run and work out, I can't lift about 300 pounds, run 5 miles, I just love junk food. If I eat healthy meals with a occasional unhealthy meal or snack every two to three days, would that be enough to get into decent shape? I know this is unusual but I figure 1 or 2 bad meals a week won't kill me if I'm eating healthy the rest of the week. I don't want to be ripped but I would like to get down to 180. I hope this doesn't anger you.

+louisianabeast At least you are honest with yourself, that does not make me unhappy. With health and physique you get out of it what you put into it. Just put in as much as you are willing for a year and see what results you get. If you dont get what you want, you may have to 'pay' more

    • @r3n736
      @r3n736 Před 8 lety +2

+louisianabeast I can tell you that you don't have to eat these meals
and can make delicious healthy food if you invest the time to learn too.
There are so many possibilities to make food tastier. If you are not
pseudo vegetarian like scooby is you can make very delicious meat like
Chicken breast. There are so many different methods to cook it. (I
prefer BBQ and sear meat) Also so many ways to marinade and give it
different taste. Just adding lemon can make it taste totally different.
Other alternatives mustard(make sure is not honey mustard),salsa,
peppers etc. Just avoid Sugar,Salt, Mayonnaise, butter. There are other
condiments you can use. Another this is the type of coking you use! Its
amazing how a type of food can taste totally different depending of
method you used to cook it. Example boil, steam, pressure cooking,BBQ, pan
      searing, oven etc.
I don't like boiled broccoli at all but steamed broccoli that is not over cooked taste so delicious. There are many methods to make healthy delicious food but of course takes time and effort. Remember you can also microwave that BBQ chicken you made on Sunday to eat it over the week if you store it in the refrigerator.

For me right now it's difficult having 6 meals because mum doesn't seem to get the 'small portions at dinner' idea. But this is my target eventually.
2 egg, 50g bacon, 15g onions. Omlette for breakfast around 7am
    break 1: Rolled oats + protein + milk. 10am
    Lunch turkey breast sandwich. 1pm
break 2: Bag of mixed nuts, 3pm
Dinner (before gym) instant noodles / light pasta with homemade sauce 5:45pm
Post gym dinner = protein shake, whenever I get back from the gym (usually 9ish)

A mentor of mine told me if ~80% of the people approve of what you do and ~15% hate you for it, then you are doing GREAT. Everything you do affects other people, that will hate you for it. If you are off, and say 50% of people hate you, there is something wrong, if just 1% hate you, then there is something wrong too. 85/15 is a good ratio. I really like Scooby's videos. I just made the math. As of today (12 700 / 2000), Scooby has ~85% approval rate, which really means something in my book!

+violet erin This video is so wrong. 6 scoops of protein per day? U serious? One protein is gonna last you for how long, one week? Do you really want to have all of your protein source from dust? Real food bro, real food. I already lost 8kg, from 87 to 79, and I take 1 scoop of protein per day, after workout ONLY. Im student with low income and I prep my meals. Its not about powder, its about nutrients and he is completely wrong. You only need a lot of protein an fats (good ones, like nuts, olive/coconut oil, avocado, olives/eggs) and less (complex) carbs - around 100 and less for me.

+Grant K and if you care more about what your food tastes like than how much time you waste with all that crap then YES .. but everyone does not have the same lifestyle .. can you agree on that ? some people work and go to school and haven families ect ..and they don't wanna spend hours on what might possibly be the only free day they have cooking and preparing 10 days worth .. he is right food is fuel not a treat or reward .. that's the mindset that causes weight issues and eating problems .. if we are reprogrammed to believe food is fuel ..and reward ourself in other ways then obesity will cease to be an issue .. you just simply have no point in other words.. the OP is out of line .. people know what they can and cannot and will or will not do..
I am not a student at all . I am a house wife .. but my priorities are my church my piano and my husband and house work .. I keep a 5700 sq ft home on 20,acres with no hired help.. BUT yes I COULD cook that way 3 meals a day. .but I have other priorities .. if my priority was food that tasted good I would do a differnt search ..eh?? look for differnt things .. there is a demand for this type thing and I have used ms y of there Ideas myself ..like eating beans from a can..
I lost 45 pounds from July to October without skipping meal and exersize every day ..lifting and cardio..and I never bought 1 pack I f fresh salmon or a bundle of fesh rosemary or any of that crap ..but I could if I wanted to... my time and m I money are just more important. .. I'm teach every week at church I have to study I play the piano at church I have to Practice I sing in church I have to learn new songs ..I also like to loft weights .. so why would I waste time driving to 15 differnt stores to find salmon at a bargain price , when I an eat a cam of beans and take my omega and healthy fats in a pill? ?
just doesn't make sense TO ME .. you people do what makes sense TO YOU and leave the rest of us alone ..AND anyone who has not actually succeeded needs to just shut up anyway (not implying you haven't just saying anyone )
hope I made my comment a little more clear . God bless and remember Jesus loves you..every acre of you ;)

a note on the last part: Often (as I've heard) froxen vegetable are more healthy than those "fresh" ones bought in super markets. That is due to the fact, that they are frozen quite fast after they have been picked. And because they are frozen, more vitamins are conserved.
