Who's still listening to this amazing man in 2024❤?
Love Phil Collins. He's the man.
I'm still listening this song in 2024.❤❤ Phil Collins songs
Follow you follow me, is great on guitar.. im back looking for more songs i can play.. the band is no slouch!
me and im 63 this year i will always listen to genesis or phil collins
Phil is great, but Genesis wouldn't be Genesis without Mike and Tony as well.
Born in 1983, now I am 40. Our mother is white and father is black. We did not grow up with the “perfect” upbringing, but that only made us stronger.
Fast forward to the age of 8, my mother and stepfather gave us two choices (to go to our first concert ever) gensis or MC Hammer. Conflicted, for various reasons. My twin brother and I choose gensis. Some kids made fun of us, and I often thought to myself “I don’t belong”
However, we loved it! And never ONCE thought otherwise it was a bad decision. Madison, Wisconsin… I will always remember it.
Listening to this song decades later brings back so many good memories! All of their songs just felt different, and this song always hits home! When you know good music, you just know 🙏🏽
From another 40 80 man, I'm glad you stayed strong. And followed what heart. I personally never had a chance to go to any concerts till I was a adult. But I was blessed to some times watch MTV. And for me that was a concert in my eyes. Hope your next 40 yrs are a great experience.
Lucky you! I think you made the right choice. They still play Phil Collins and Genesis on the radio. THAT'S STANDING POWER!
La musique n'appartient à aucune race. Elle est pleine de couleurs, dont une ou plusieurs peuvent avoir plus de chances de te saisir, et t'envouter. Et c'est mieux ainsi

You like Phil Collins? I'm a big Genesis fan, especially after the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I never really understood them. They were too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke, however, where Phil Collins presence became more apparent.

I graduated high school 1987. Only 6 days later, my mom loaded all 3 my younger siblings in my car that she bought me😢 - stopped by my work - said they were leaving my dad - did I want to stay or go.. this song was on the air waves that summer - things were never the same as we felt the slow, agonizing end of their marriage, my childhood. My siblings lived a very different life. Mom and Dad are both gone now, and I am the only one old enough to remember.

For anybody brought up in the 80s. Phil Collins and genesis was the soundtrack to our lives. That's the best comment I can give them need I say more
Well said, say no more. Namibian
Phil Collins voice cannot be replicated by anyone. Man was one of a kind, best thing Genesis did in terms of making it big and commercial. One of the most successful artists in history, even rappers have wanted to and have worked with him. Disney was obsessed with the man, he did music for almost all movies in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Definitely one of a kind.
Is one of a kind. Phil's still not too shabby for a man in his early 70s. It's a shame about his back issues though.
“Spend my life caring about somebody else...” powerful stuff...

There's so much you promised, how could I ever forget?
Hello, how are you?
Probably the best singer/ Performer in the world at the 80's
Collins has always had his critics...been laughed at and the butt of many jokes. Talent is talent...Phil, as with all of the band members of Genesis, were awesome in their time...musicianship of the very best kind......it's been far too long since I've played this deeply moving song.
Many only recall the Gabriel days...I've seen both, many, many times. Both have their merits. Phil made the band explode internationally, and Peter did his own great things.
Superb stuff..well posted!
+Lindsay Buttery
I'm gonna be honest, I actually think Peter Gabriel is overrated. Now don't get me wrong, I will ALWAYS love Peter, and I have absolutely NOTHING against him as a performer. However, from my point of view, I feel that Phil's critics have built Peter up too much, to the point where I can't really see what all the hype is about.
Morrissey was better but Collins is a god!
I agree with you. I love Collins' stuff with Genesis and his solo hits, wow! I think this is one of my two favorite songs and "Land of Confusion," is my favorite video. (The latter because of the political idiocy that is seen in the video, yet very relevant in recent years, the former because it calms me down at times.)
My favorite Genesis track, by the way, is "Follow You, Follow Me." I also love Peter Gabriel's solo songs, "Sledgehammer," and "In Your Eyes," and I enjoy Mike and the Mechanics' "Silent Running," yet I should look more into some of the band's other hits and more Peter Gabriel songs.
Same with Sam Fox in the 80''s. She sure had her knockers - but I wasn't one of them 😁

Take the lyrics to land of confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority.
Some songs take you back to that special place and time you thought would never end. I clearly remember the first time I heard this. My best friend and sister (R.I.P) said ... "Check this out!" and she popped in Genesis' "Land of Confusion" cassette and played this song for me. I remember I was a little high, not too much. I had just sparked up a joint, and we were in our backyard waiting on the rest of our buddies to show up. My parents had just left for the evening and we were gonna BBQ and chill by the pool. It's weird how I can still remember every detail of that day by memory. Some songs have that effect on us I guess. It was the 80s and a great time to be a kid in school, and most of all the music was incredible. My sister passed away in 2017 (cancer) she was only 48, and here I am, grateful to still be here, thanks to God of course. Also thankful to CZcams that I'm able to look back with all this great music. Peace to all of you ✌

Polished … Tight … Neither a note too many or a phrase too few … Perfect
All that time I was searching
And nowhere to run to
It started me thinking
Wondering what I could make of my life
And who'd be waiting
Asking all kinds of questions to myself
But never finding the answers
Crying at the top of my voice
And no one listening
All this time, I still remember everything you said
Oh, oh, and there's so much you promised
How could I ever forget
Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep
So listen, listen to me
Ooh, you must believe me
I can feel your eyes go through me
But I don't know why
Oh, I know you're going, but I can't believe
It's the way that you're leaving
It's like we never knew each other at all
And it may be my fault
I gave you too many reasons, being alone
When I didn't want to
I thought you'd always be there
And I almost believed you
All this time, I still remember everything you said
Oh, oh, oh, oh
And there's so much you promised, how could I ever forget
Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep
So listen, listen to me
'Cause I can feel your eyes go through me
It seems I've spent too long
Only thinking about myself, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Now I want to spend my life
Just caring 'bout somebody else
Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep
You know I love
I love you, but I just can't take this

You know I love you, love you
I love, love, love, love, you
But I can't take this anymore
You know I love, I love you
I love you, love you, love you
I can't take this anymore
You know I love, I love, love you, love, love you
But I can't take this no more
You know I love
I love but I can't take this no
No, no, no, no, no, oh, oh, more
Ah, ah, ah
Luis_Thank You for this. Bill, Phoenix, USA
Thank you.
All that time I was searching, nowhere to run to, it started me thinking,
Wondering what I could make of my life, who'd be waiting,
Asking all kinds of questions, to myself, but never finding the answers,
Crying at the top of my voice, no one listening,
All this time, I still remember everything you said
There's so much you promised, how could I ever forget.
Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this,
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps,
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this,
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep.
So listen, listen to me,
You must believe me,
I can feel your eyes go through me,
But I don't know why.
I know you're going, but I can't believe it's the way that you're leaving,
It's like we never knew each other at all, it may be my fault,
I gave you too many reasons, being alone, when I didn't want to
I thought you'd always be there, I almost believed you,
All this time, I still remember everything you said,
There's so much you promised, how could I ever forget.
Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this,
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps,
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this,
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep.
So listen, listen to me,
I can feel your eyes go through me
It seems I've spent too long
Only thinking about myself
Now I want to spend my life
Just caring bout somebody else.
Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this,
You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps,
Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this,
You know I want to, but I'm in too deep.
Phil Collins is killing it.

Transported back to the 1980's with this talented guy.
The 70s to Pre about 1993 was the best time in music history..
Timeless..
Nobody will know who lil wayne is in 100 years .
But they will know the 70s and 80s classics.
Invisible Touch has always been my favorite Genesis album. Every... single... song... is fantastic.
100% agreed. Takes me back to 87’ and 16 years old.
It is their undisputed masterpiece
Sometimes I wish I could go back to the 80's to hear all the great songs when they were new. But then I realize I'll be a child again, and I don't want to go backwards in life. At 41 I think that my best life is right around the corner.
Me too... without a doubt.xx
Could be....or????
Negative....slam the breaks on do a U'ie and don't look back....
Phil is/uber talented.
Phil Collins an ICON
Phil was such a huge part of the 80's. His song's will always resonate throughout my life. Thanks Phil.
This song is so underrated!
Gen X here, I find myself listening to 80's music lately❤️🔥✝️
IAM from 83 and I love this song!!!!
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard 🎼 🎼 🎶 ❤
You should check out another song Phil wrote: "Please Don't Ask". It really conveys a person's feelings after divorce. Sad, but beautiful.
@@minty_Joe i absolutely love that song 🎶 ❤
@@LaFaRa-LoVe Yes, it's great! Another good one from Genesis is "Undertow". The chorus is like a poem. 🥰 Also forgot "Your Own Special Way". ( czcams.com/video/mvjY5HiutOE/video.html )
I'm a fan of him and his beautiful music and also when he was part of the band Gênesis, he really sings with the soul of how beautiful his songs are, this song plays deep in my heart ❤️.
A hug, I wish you a happy New Year and a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2024 to come.
This song is everything good in my life. A hug from here in Brazil. Brasil
@@leo3637 Thank you wishing you a happy blessed holiday and a blessed 2024 ❤️
A man who has truly loved and been broken by love understands this song in his core. Why do i?
Because you understand as I do
Yeah.
You're human
We are all people........
Cause it happen to you as well
I would put Phil Collins up with all the greats - alongside the Beatles, Cliff Richard, Elton John etc. He's a legend
No doubt!!
He not dead yet.
He's good, but I preferred the hits when he was with Genesis. The songs had more of a punch with less sappiness.
I'd drop Elton John and put Phil on his place.
Wtf is cliff richard?
I love phil Collins, Hes always been a top act. God bless you phil .wish you good health and happiness throughout .
I love you Phil!!❤
It's sooo sad that u can't find this type of music anymore😩. I miss my old skool😓

Sorry for your loss. I care
🙏
I turned 19 in 1980. The rest of the 80s in my 20s. Songs like this and alot of other Genesis tunes helped me while I was getting my ass going. Lots of relationships in that decade and memories.
Happy 73rd to this Legend
