This morning my 7yr old daughter was singing this in the shower word for word and I don't why this made me so proud. But it did❤❤ Anyone listening in 2024???
listening still at 41 thanks to my mammie
Yes. I used to work at an electronic repair shop in the late 80s. The stereo guy had a Cyndi Lauper CD as his "test CD," so I heard this song often.
That's great! ❤
At least twice a week for me! My kids hate it though smh

I'd be honored if some 80s fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal YT performances of SISTER CHRISTIAN by Night Ranger, IS THIS LOVE by Whitesnake, and RADIO GA-GA by Queen in tribute to the age of legendary power ballads. One of your best songs...thank you for this lovely music....
This song will always remind me of my mother. I remember that I would stay up late at night hoping to catch this song on the radio to record it for weeks after hearing it in the movie theater. Then one day, getting us home from school, it was suddenly playing on my radio. I went running to my room to record it. When I got to the radio I saw there was a cassette tape playing inside. She bought the album for me as a surprise.
What a wonderful memory to have. Made me smile, thank you!
Wowwww :)
😍Thank you so much for sharing💕 I really love this ^

My soul mate got me through the difficult times and we all have someone we are truly destined to be with...
Mum, fly with the Angels and your Mother and Father. My Father and little baby Sister.

"Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper is not just a song; it's a timeless journey that transcends generations. Today, as we celebrate its 40th anniversary, it's hard not to be moved by the enduring charm and emotional depth of this masterpiece. For someone who grew up in the 1990s, this song was more than just a melody from the past; it was a bridge to an era of heartfelt music. Listening to Cyndi's soulful voice, it felt like she was speaking directly to us, sharing a story of love and resilience that resonated deeply. Her unique style and genuine emotion in every note made "Time After Time" a comforting friend and a source of inspiration. It's a reminder of the power of music to connect, to heal, and to bring joy across time. Thank you, Cyndi Lauper, for gifting the world with this beautiful anthem that continues to touch hearts, decades later. #TimeAfterTime40 #CyndiLauperLegacy 🌟🎶💖"

My best friend passed away in 2007, and her husband just passed last November. Both were way too young to depart the planet. I had been the maid of honor at their wedding back in 1986, and this had been their song. Whenever I hear it played (which is seldom), I feel as though they are both smiling down on me. Thanks, Cyndi!

I know right. I wasn’t born during the 80s rather the 90s. But love contemporary music. Various styles
I’ve always thought this was low key one of the best songs of the entire 80s. Simple, melodic, catchy, and pretty.
It was a huge hit when it came out....and has been well-known ever since
Definitely!!!
@@BritishBloke66 Surrrrrrre but Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is by far her biggest hit. And the 80s had a lot of popular songs (like every decade). I was just making an argument that it’s one of the best song of the entire decade. Just my opinion though.
It also went with a classy video too as many 80's videos were, but this one was probably one of the best.
One of those songs that defined the decade.
Happy 40 to "Time After Time" ❤
This song was always so incongruous because on one hand you have this new wave punk rocker with red hair and half her scalp shaved.
On the other side, you had these deeply thoughtful lyrics filled with youthful bravado and angst laden harmonies.
Cyndi Lauper was one of a kind ❤😂

I dedicate this song to my sons and daughters, because of their harsh life I prayed so hard to be perfected and happiness and they’re such good children, I cannot stand the guilt anymore or I will fall lower into insanity. Please pick your heads up and find forgiveness in your heart and hope that one day we will be together.
I'm almost 51 but I'll never forget where I was when first heard this song. It was 1985, I was just 12 and was mesmerized. I was learning English at the time and didn't get any of the lyrics but good music is universal. As far as I'm concerned, this is one of the best songs that's ever made and it will never get old. What a nasty wall of noise we've all been subjected to for the last two decades in the pop charts, utter junk.
This type of music always makes me feel like crying, its amazing how talented and passionate these artist were in their music. I wish I was born in the 70s or the 80s just so I could of fully admired this music. its a shame that as the generations go on this music will eventually just die out... its sad if you think about it.
I agree especially Jazz genre there's a lot of jazz music in 80s
Michelle Jonathan thats why its our job to blast their music in our cars when were driving ahah. even if you get weird faces
+cjsaintrow You'd have had to be born in the 40's or 50's to really appreciate the impact because you then may have made it to Montery for the pop festival, the first great rock festival, during the "Summer of Love". The next stop on the bus was Woodstock in upstate N.Y. which was a once in a lifetime event. I got free tickets but didn't have the $68 round trip air fare from Chicago. What a boner that was. Anyway being 20 or so at the start of the 70's was a rockin roaring ride that has had no equal before or since. I saw the Stones 3 times when they were good, Zeppelin 9 times, The who, Queen, and got paid to do it shooting photos of 12 years of the worlds best bands. What a great ride it was.
i only listen to Jazz, alternative and Indie even i like music that has 60s or 80s vibe I love Lana Del Rey she is great

Forever wonderful songs that remind us the best years of humanity so far 80s 90s.
Pure emotions.
Full interactions.

We were very lucky.
My brother, who was also my best friend, and I, used to camp all the time when Time After Time came out on the radio in 1983. We were in our early twenties. He died on Christmas Day 2 years ago,and this song is like a time portal. I close my eyes and see the flashes of color in the changing mountain trees, snowy peaks, the rush of sparkling melt water rushing down in rivulets. I know he will be waiting for me.
You just made me think. I’d like dying on 4th of January or something, when the Christmas is clearly over. Happy & fulfilled by the greetings of the season

I believe the 80's just had so many truly romantic and heartbreaking songs- so much more than what came after in later decades.
Well, when you've already covered everything, logically, there wouldn't be a lot more to do. People actually pull from older songs a lot because those are the songs that inspired them, but you don't want to make a complete copy. Also, there's a generational element involved. Being stuck in your time will not allow you to enjoy what comes later, as much.
TheUltimateKIC that made very little sense 🤦🏻♂️
@@StMichael7 Well, then, I don't know what to tell you, pal. Because I just reread it without any issues.

I used to listen to this song all the time with my sister, but she was riding her bike and got hit by a school bus, her arms and legs were mangled and had to be amputated. It broke my heart because she was such a beautiful girl. Ten years later I was struck by a dump truck and my arms and legs had to be amputated. Its funny how life works, because now my sister and I share an apartment and blast this song so loud! Fondly remembering a time when neither of us were quadruple amputees.....
Once in a while, I go back to this song! It made me quit my job in Belgium in late 90's to Join a Boston grunge band for several years /insane years of recklessness. Met my future wife before moving back to Belgium. Hearing this song makes me wonder how, why music can push you to do such amazing thing?! When I explain this story to my son while we're listening to this! He just shrugs! & say " you are crazy!" (Tim Boston)

This song has so much meaning for me. I remember so clearly listening to it on my Walkman, soon after it came out, after going to visit the site where our new house was being built. It was the fall of 1984 and I was only 8 years old, but it had been one of the most eventful years of my life. My grandmother had died, my little sister was born, I moved to a new school, and we were about to move into a new house. Even at that very young age, I was feeling nostalgic and wistful, thinking about how much things were changing in my life. Now at 46 years old, every time I hear this song I feel like time loops back on itself and I can reach out and touch that little girl.
@elizabethwall8063 : If you have not already listened, check out the version by the late, Eva Cassidy. She puts in something extra from the heart, the lyrics are enriched tugging on our memories from deep within.
@@danjarvis6980 Wow, thanks for the recommendation. That is a beautiful version!!
What happens to the house 🏠
Tears in my eyes reading this. I was born in 84 but the song still held so much meaning for me. And yes! Eva Cassidy was incredible! Such a voice! Anyway, thanks for sharing this little snippet of your life ❤️

As I listen to "Time After Time," a flood of nostalgia washes over me. I remember dancing carefree under the stars with friends, laughing until our sides hurt. Each note of the song carries me back to those summer nights, filled with warmth and happiness. Even now, as I listen, I can't help but smile, grateful for the memories that this song brings back to life. It's a reminder that no matter where life takes me, those cherished moments will always be a part of who I am.
2023, 45 years old and this song is still with me. It's truly a perfect piece of music.

If music has any chance of making a meanful comeback, the '80s vibe needs to be part of the mix.

This song immediately brings me to the 80's. What can I say, 80's music is mysteriously amazingly incomparable!
That’s how you know this is a banger
Major facts.
I feel exactly the same, and I'm a 28-year-old 90s kid!
This song makes me wish I could close my eyes, and go back to that point in time.
This all this

Are you a time traveller?
@@iminyourhead9936 Seems your the time traveller my friend because it is April 3 today....and i actually said "April 2022" by the way so please read properly. Thank you
I'm always amazed at how simple this song's arregengement is: a drum machine, keyboards and a chorus guitar. The bass enters only in the chorus to interact with the harmonized singing. They could have overdone it, but they kept it simple. Love it.
Você foi perfeito em sua análise.
Thats actually what i hum to everytime..that bass. Consistent
less is more!
She excels at that type of minimalist musical style. (Heading West, True Colors, At Last)
Vote for Cyndi at the rock and roll hall of fame vote! She needs you!
wow is crazy to find out that this girl made 2 of the most famous songs ever made in human history.
GENIUS tune Cyndi Lauper!!
Time after time hearts will be broken and hearts will be mended..
iyaloo akuunda That is true
