The spoon curve is an alternate to the short hook for basic SPP. It is more maneuverable, but has slightly less reach for high/low bitting. It follows a similar line to a DeForrest offset half diamond, but has a fixed radius of 1.5", rather than an angular presentation, which helps make it the ace of maneuverability. I use it almost all the time as my go to SPP tool, and migrate to medium hooks as needed, rather than starting with a short hook.
Thank you for sharing your design and expertise on these tools :)
I second this. I’m no where close to Christina Palmer league, but I feel exactly like what she posted above.
Nice looking set. You can tell why it’s priced a bit more than others. The finish looks great vs cheap sets that are often pretty roughly finished. That twisted tensioner is a great idea.
What a beautiful kit. Quite an impressive collection of tension tools with that kit. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for checking it out! I look forward to getting some more experience with it and sharing :)
What locks have you been working on?
stepping up your game I think -- glad to see you doing some videos again
Thanks Ken. It has been quite busy at home / work. I just got a new laptop which will make livestreams come back.
I look forward to getting back into videos. I don't think I will be doing twice per week anymore but maybe once every other week or so :)
A city rake would have been a nice addition.
Hi,
I am new in this job. A few days ago I found at work a falling apart padlock. My imediate thought was this: if I would know how this kind of things are build, it will be much easier to understand how to ...
awesome video! iv missed you! but i understand life, and you must take care of you and ur fam. iv wanted some multipicks and the flags for a while but just not in the budget right now, but they are in my wish list lol but i do have others that get the job done just fine!
Thank you for sharing. I am happy to start trying to make more videos. I look forward to getting more experience with this set.
Wow.. This is the set I should have started with. Tension tools aren't "sexy" and kits rarely have a good amount. This kit has everything yo need. I hope things are going well for you and your family.
Thank you for sharing. I also like the added bonus of it all fitting well into a small portable case
Multipick are there at the top in my opinion. The quality of their picks oozes class.
I like using hybrid long reach picks and the spoon pick looks very similar. I would imagine it works the same and feels the same.
Cheers for the review HLP.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I look forward to getting to use this set more and sharing my experience.
what would recommend for a beginner's pick set?
I would get a short hook in 0.025" and 0.018". I would get a top of keyway tensioner in 0.40" and 0.50", bottom of the key way tensioners, and some rakes.
Get what make sense for your area. Peterson and Southord is good for US, Sparrow is good for Canada, Multipick is great for Europe
nice profile... just a question are you also part of the belt system for lockpickers?
expensive...
Yes, I am. I am a moderator on reddit just not very active these days
