I always carry my Leatherman Wave, in a leather sheath, a full compliment of the Leatherman bits.
I need to think harder about using my sheath
I do also carry my Wave in my Leatherman (leather) sheath, but i also fitted a smaller flashlight on its side where you can fit bits, flashlight is a Suprabeam M6xr.
I carry the Free P4 almost everyday. At a minimum I have the Squirt. It’s amazing how often you’ll use a multi tool when you have one available. Just this morning I noticed a handle was loose on a cabinet drawer and instead of making a mental note to fix it later I just pulled out my tool and fixed it. My wife has even asked for one to keep in her purse because she has gotten so used to me having one that she doesn’t like when I’m not around and she needs something (usually scissors) lol.
Scissors are so clutch
I carry a Gerber Dime in my purse. Nice small size, has the basic tools I need (including spring loaded scissors), and the knife is sharp but small enough that if I pull it out at work nobody looses their mind.
@@katt9338 That’s what I was looking to get her. I also wanted to see how it compared to the squirt
I've never been a Leatherman fan, but a great video as usual. I used to carry a Gerber Suspension(I know a lot of people dont like them)at my night job as a janitor, because the cheap ass equipment they had kept breaking down. I would make minor repairs so to make them serviceable. The strangest thing is that after I finished using the equipment, they miraculously unfixed themselves. Thanks for sharing, you Mighty Awesome Devil Dog. ERRAH! Battalion!
Battalion!
I have the leatherman surge and Skeletool. One for work and one for church haha
For my EDC I carry a knifeless Leatherman Rebar in a belt sheath beside my C3 Torch. In my pocket I carry a Gerber Armbar Driver. I keep a regular Rebar in my go-bag with my ditch kit.
Nice setup
Excellent review 👏 👌🏾 👍
I own the Leatherman Curl
And i edc this tool over my Leatherman Wave I used to own.
Reason being that the Curl has the same functionality as the Wave but thinner chassis and I didn't really use the saw and serrated blade as much.
I have to add that the Wave is still an amazing multitool especially the Wave ➕ plus😎
For a more minimalist approach the Curl is perfect!
Urban carry tool, the Curl, that is slightly heavier than the Skeletool but packs way more 👊 punch 👊
I was out the otherday at a game of airsoft, the camera guy for the field came over to our group and was like "does anyone have a screwdriver?" I had my Gerber Vise in my pocket and offered it too him. I was actually sorta shocked with how absolutely no one except for me had one.
Awesome content, Brother. Appreciate you.
As a man, there is no worse feeling than being out and about, needing a basic tool for a menial task and not having one… I always carry my edc (covers quite a few bases) and always have a tool kit, fire extinguisher, road flare LEDs and first aid kit in my trunk.
Highly useful and regular vids man... loving it - I carry a Leatherman on me most days (Wave, Free P4, Skeletool CX or most likely my all around favorite the Signal) when I leave the house which isn’t much since C19 but I feel naked without multitool and flashlight (and fixed blade + pistol). Signal is standard equipment with my kids bugout bags and my fave because I’ve often got a kid in tow so it’s a training opportunity on the rare occasion I actually need it.
Thanks for sticking with me
I will admit the warranty with leatherman is brilliant no questions asked replacements but after 4 claims I went back to using my victorinox swiss tool I have used over the last 20 years its been everywhere and never let me down.
I am a brand new here. I found Your videos last week and like them all... In my rotation are Leatherman SURGE and Viktorinox SWISS TOOL. Outstanding hard working multitools with full load of tools. I prefer a sheat carry. Thank You for videos. Greetings from SLOVAKIA.
Welcome aboard!
Hey man thanks for the great info. I've been carrying just a standard blade for my EDC for about the last 15 years and I'm just now starting to stretch my general preparedness mindset. I've started digging into multi tool research because it just makes sense. I've owned a Gerber plyer multi tool for probably the same 15 year time frame but I rarely carry it because it's bulky and I hate the hip pouch look. It's just not for me. So, thanks for opening my mind to the plyer style multi tool again. Didn't know Leatherman started putting a pocket clip on their tools.
I usually have a Gerber Armbar Drive on me as it fits into my pocket or 5th pocket pretty easy and has the tools I use most, screw driver and blade.
I have my Signal, Rebar or Skeletool in my bag all the time as part of my EDC and either the Rebar or Sidekick in my GHB, car kit, hiking/outdoor/bushcraft bag. Each of the family's bags also had a Sidekick or Rev in it.
When I comes to my kits and bags I feel like Oprah "You get a Leatherman! You get a Leatherman and you get a Leatherman"
I need to snag an Armbar
@@MarineX they are nice. You don't always need pliers (probably the tool I use least) and the Armbar covers most of what I need on a regular basis. I've seen some reviewers complain that the drive doesn't lock, but I've never had an issue with it. Added advantage is that it's pretty light and compact so I can drop it in my 5th pocket/change pocket and forget about it.
Love the content!
I had a Skeletool. Great multi tool. I now carry the Leatherman Signal. I really like it.
Lately I've been rotating between a Signal, a 2006 Wave, and a Rebar when I carry a larger Leatherman. My Rev and Wingman see occasional carry time, too. There are also a few discontinued Leatherman tools in my collection that I carry occasionally. I'll hopefully be adding a black oxide one soon (trying to decide between a Wave or a Rebar). A great video, and you've gained a new subscriber!
My current Leatherman is the Surge and Wave. Was recently gifted a Rebar with a mini version of the multi tool from Leatherman. I prefer my older Leatherman the name was never stamped into it.
Good comparison vid Marine X....really like my MUT --especially when I"m on the road ...but lately for versatility and light weight I"ve been EDCing my SOG Powerpint.
Wow! Been following you for a while now! Congrats on breaking 10k subs!
Thanks so much!!
Have been carrying a Surge w/bit kit and extra blades along with a folding knife for years. Who doesn't?
Just subscribed..came across your video and I love your channel.. Since the Pandemic started I really paying attention to these survival information..
Thank you for your service.. Safe Holloween from Miami, Florida..
I have the Rebar. Sits in my front pocket.
I gotta say, the skeletool is my favorite EDC, but I always keep a wave within reach. Check it out.
Great video. Thanks.
My surge never leaves my pocket
You gotta think of leathermans like legos. I just picked up the curl a few months ago myself, knowing it was the platform I wanted. The slimmer feel and better pocket clip are on point, I took my 154 cm blade from a charge and the saw and replaced the cheaper steel blade and the file. Much more usable and now it’s the leather man I always wanted. Don’t be intimidated to take them apart, but I would suggest doing it over a magnetic tray. Rah!
Cool channel! My go to is the Surge, all day everyday!
For me, it's the Leatherman Crunch. A brilliant piece of engineering and a great size. No pocket carry (sorry Marine-X), but for those who don't care, a great piece of kit.
Leatheman say (we shall see!) that they will be making them again soon.
True true
Been carrying a multi tool since 1999, yes it was a sak but it was the start. I bought my Leatherman PST at an army navy store around 2001. Still carry my pst with all my other multi tools, a must for a self sufficient person
I won't leave home without it.
Leatherman T4 is my EDC. Blade is nice and short and doesn't scare people. Flathead screwdriver is thick and strong enough to be a serious pry bar. Bit driver extension can be slotted sideways into the T4's blade lock. Used to carry a Wave, rarely used the pliers.
I love that T4
Suggestions for an EDC pocket carry multitool that has a quick and easily accessible knife blade, pliers (spring loaded if possible)?
I have several charge tti but after getting the p4 free its my go to. There are certain features I like on the charge but the free is better overall for me, the clip on every single one of my charge's broke withing weeks.
I would like to see a vid of the gerber dual force if you get your hands on one 👍🏻 I keep on me the sog powerpint and a victorinox walker
Get the best and make Jodi jealous. The Charge TTI with the ratchet adapter. One shot. One kill. Ready to die, but never will. Oh, don't forget that nice leather sheath upgrade. I have both, but think I prefer the light tan one. I use the dark brown one for when I'm wearing a sport coat or belts/shoes that match.
I would love the TTI
Just a now discontinued leatherman crator c33t for me. Luckily I bought spares.
Love my skeletool. I just wish the little bit was a flathead/Phillips not two different size Phillips or two flat heads.
I got the leatherman skeletal multitool 🤘🏼
hell yea. Every man needs to carry a multi tool.
I keep the Gerber dime in my coin pocket edc, the gerber centerpoint in my truck ghb, a leatherman in my garage, an an old gerber 600 on my gun bench.. not sure I would carry any of them daily in addition to the dime and the different folder dedicated knives I rotate. Might give it a try down the road
Sounds like a nice setup
I currently have the leatherman charge and surge in the military black oxide color. I also have a skeletool my latest purchase is the P3 with the magnets. I was looking into getting one of those one handed ones for Christmas to add to my collection. Also do you recommend any of the Gerber multitools?
I use these Gerber Gear 07400 amzn.to/3azLCcm
LOVE THIS (and long overdue) - seems like noone wants to carry multitools anymore - I carry the Leatherman Signal (mainly because of having the ferro rod on it)
I so need to pick one of those up
@@MarineX it cool BUT i feel it does lack in the amount of tools on it - would love to pick up the MUT and the CRUNCH (hard to find though)
Love the video! The only critique I have is the Curl is the little brother of the Wave (older, but IMO better generation of Leatherman). The Free P4 is the big brother of the Free P2 (newer, but IMO worse generation of Leatherman).
Good catch.
i agree the Curl might be the best EDC option among those...but I would get a different pouch...switch it with one of the better ones from your others. The Skeletool might be the best one for on the go because of the weight and versatility options...again..get a pouch for it. I have a dinky little Gerber in my man purse...it's an old Dime or Vise...for $10 can't go wrong. Bought a old Gerber big multitool years ago from an army surplus store...$30 for a $180 tool about 20 years ago was a deal...still got it somewhere...
I love the older Gerbers
Ok the curl does not lock the blades etc. great video. Also what watch are you wearing thanks 😊
Thanks much. I'm wearing the TicWatch Pro 3 with a after market silicon band
I love my leatherman rebar
All are great.
Leatherman Wave and Gerber
I rotate between the Wave+ and the Skeletool. The Wave is an awesome tool but it does weigh a good bit if you're carrying it in your pocket.
Very true. I think that's what prompted leatherman to come out with the Curl
I finally came to the realization that there is not a single multi-tool for every situation. I love my Surge--I LOVE it--but it is a monster; there is simply no realistic way to carry it in pocket (and I am used to carrying large pocketknives, over 4" closed) so it has to be carried on a belt, and there are a lot of environments where you don't want to carry a tool on your belt. I ended up going with the combination of a SAK Explorer and a Leatherman Sidekick for pocket carry. I've got 3 plain blades, a (tiny) serrated blade, scissors, a GOOD pair of pliers, a 2d and a 3d Phillips, different flatheads, a really crappy file (but better than none), a saw, a magnifying glass, and admittedly some redundancy--I don't think anyone is ever going to need a "backup can opener." It might be too much for some, but I don't mind pocketing both a SAK and a multi-tool the size of the Sidekick. I'll say this--the Sidekick is overpriced at $60. It used to be in the $40 range just a few years ago; I think it would be high, but still worth, $50. It's not worth $60, but it had the tools I wanted in a size I wanted.
Good insights
Usually rock with my victorinox just because of the scissors
New Venezuelan follower my friend!
Can't wait to visit there
My father in law edc’s the leatherman wingman which has the knife and scissors (arguably the most used items) accessible from the outside
Love your content #battalion
Give the leatherman surge a try.
My Wave+ always on me. Considering getting the Leatherman Signal.
That will be a nice addition 👍
SEMPER FI Brother,
I like the leatherman tools. But they're just so expensive. I have bought some Gerber tools years ago. Because of the price. I also have a couple of schrade tools. As well as a few cheap Chinese tools.
SEMPER FIDELIS again,
Gunny Reed
RAH, Gunny.
Thanks Gunns.
How someone can live without pliers?
I’ve been carrying a leathermen for over 10 years. I gotta have it in a sheath. The fancy “pocket clip”, or the “Deep carry clip” … will ruin my expensive pants … 🤦🏻🤷🏻♂️
I carry a sak and a small pliers mutli
Huh... my Mut has the pocket in the front...im gonna find that spot in the back, ive never noticed it
Glad I could point it out.
Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit XC
Beasty?
Great content bro. You are knowledgeable and very well spoken too. Subscribe!
Thanks for the sub!
Please for the love of god, skip the curl. Just buy the wave plus, it's the exact same form factor plus two more tools. A nice 3 sided file and a nice serrated blade.
If you want to get fancy, by its fancier brother the charge Plus which has all the same tools but an upgraded knife steel 154cm or s30v, and the addition of a gut hook.
I carry 2 leathermans on me everyday.
Hi
I carry the wave
Curl is the baby brother of the Wave. Both are great.
I'm always cary knife, and last feu month I both Skeletool CX, and it has ewry thing I need and I'm using him more then I tooth. Also,I,both bits and with bits I'm hood . And when I don't hawe Skeletool I hawe on keys Squirt PS4 and knife Benchmade Osborne 940 . But I'm using it ewry day and if I'm forget him I'm going to the house. And I didn't expect that. Also in EU Leatherman Skeletool CX cost 140€ and 50€bits but haw guaranty 25 ares so I don't like when people buy som Chines crap for 30% price and after 2month trow them for my tool I'm set for 2,5 decades also I cooled Leatherman in Croatia and they are all pleasant and very nice and they told me if something hepend one mail and send it and newe is on the way. And that is worth . Also Leatherman is name and they are first and I like too buy from wery good companies like Leatherman, Victorinox, Microtech, Benchmade and all of them haw premium guarantee center so I'm set for life with that products.
I love multitool specially leatherman but they are too pricey.
They really can be
A Snap-on multi tool I bought at a flea market for $5 along with my SAK will handle Armageddon if needed. Can I process wood for a fire?? I can break it vs. cutting it... Sry but paying hundreds $$ is not possible in my reality...
What model, I'd love to check that out
Can't be bothered with 💩 knuckle busting multi-tool pliers, Knipex or nothing.
I love the Knipex
@@MarineX Am I wrong about multi-tools, have you ever had multitool pliers slip off the fastener and pinch your the palm of your hand or crash your knuckles into something?
Ummm.... never seen chuck norris pull out a multitool.....😂😂
Never ever!
I carry a Skeletool. Light. Practical. Minimalist
