Shock result? Newcastle have beaten arsenal, city, PSG, Man Utd, Villa, Chelsea and Spurs, at st James this season alone. How is it a shock result?😂😂
A) Spurs haven't lost this bad all season that's why it's a shock result
B) This season Newcastle have lost 12 games
C) New castle didn't beat City in the league home or away
D) Chelsea and Utd can't be in the same bracket as Arsenal Villa or Spurs
E) Beating PSG was a group stage match and you still were knocked out
F) You can't include 'spurs' in the shock result rationale because it is the shock result? You're being circular and it makes no sense
G) Therefore your phrase should be, Newcastle have beaten Arsenal, PSG in the EFL Cup, PSG (Although we still got knocked out), Villa, and somehow we've still lost 12 games this season.
@@garyc2630 1) Newcastle have beaten City in the cup this season at home, Newcastle played their B team in that game. I never stated they beat city in the league, I just said they have beaten them
2) PSG was a group stage match? And what?? Still champions league and they got hammered at St James. Newcastle we’re also beating them 1-0 away until the 98th minute when PSG were awarded a penalty that should not of stood, the ref has also admitted it was a mistake - this means Newcastle should of went through in the CL if it wasn’t for this VAR decision.
3) it’s not a shock result to put 4 past Spurs, Newcastle are one of the highest scorers in the league.
4) Chelsea and Man Utd are both still classed as the big teams in the league with the most expensive squads so of course they are in the same bracket.
5) Newcastle have lost 12 games with the worst injury record since the premier league began (according to the stat Sky put out) but can still finish above Spurs, what does that say about Spurs?
6) By the next time Spurs play, Newcastle could be 4 points away from them even with all the injuries. This is another reason it isn’t a shock result.
@@HolloMollo8he's a 🔔🔚
@@HolloMollo8 1) Yes but comparing an EFL game to the prem is not a good comparison. I just looked at the lineup and there are 7 non-starter players in Man City's lineup too in that game. They were clearly not taking it seriously. They also beat newcastle in the FA Cup. So in total, Newcaslte have lost 3 times to city, twice at home. They beat them once in the EFL cup when both teams were not taking it seriously.
2) Teams lose in the group stage and then win the champion's league. That's why it's inconsequential. This points to the theme I'm running with. Newcastle beat PSG hard, and got knocked out. That's why it's a 'shock' they beat them to begin with. Newcastle are 10 points behind Spurs. That's why it's a fair surprise they won at all, then a 'shock' they won 4-0.
3) Yes it is a shock result to put 4 past Spurs. This has happened one time this season. Newcastle have conceded 4 goals 3 times this season and lost 12 compared to Tottenham's 8 games.
4) It doesn't take a genius to realise that this season the top 3 have set themselves apart from the rest. And to that point, Villa and Spurs have put themselves above the rest. Those are just the facts.
5) Every team has had injury problems. Spurs lost 6 players from one match (2 from reds) and lost the player with the highest G+A in the league for the first 12 games, in fact one of the highest G+A in Europe. They then lost the best peforming CB in the league stats wise for 3 months. This is an even playing field. Finally, what are you on about could finish above Spurs? In the top 6 table Spurs are tied first on points. They are performing exceedingly well against Arsenal (2-2), Villa (W/L), City (3-3), United (W/D), Liverpool (2-1) and Newcastle (W/L 4-1 and 4-0).
6) This is a dumb comment. Every game can only cause a deficit of 3 points of the teams don't play against each other. Newcastle aren't playing Spurs again. The 'next time' doesn't matter, all that matters is results against matches played. You really think Newcastle will get a +10 over Spurs with 6 games remaining? There's only 18 points up for grabs.
I'm a gooner and I agree. Newcastle amazing at home!!!
Whenever Newcastle embarass somebody, they never get any credit on Talksport. Was the same both times we pumped Villa this season as an example
Toon fans dont need praise from media muppets!! HTLs 🏳🏴
Not one mention about Gordon this weekend who by the way is the best English forward in the league. Makes me laugh if palmer had played like Gordon they’d be piping him off.
Brighton and Fulham did the same thing to Spurs so get real. Thats where you're at. Spurs lost more or less their best defenders and their playmaker overnight and have never played as well as they were the first 10 games. They lost momentum and are too easy to nullify with the way they defend.
@@tago69mago671 🤣🤣🤣tool
@@jamesmilligan2797 that your argument? Tool? Typical hardman keyboard warrior. Go back in the corner and finish off eating the rest of your crayons!
Jim, you should check your facts before talking rubbish. Firstly, Spurs were not on the same number of points after 32 games last season. Spurs were on 53 points after 32 games last season and finished the season on 60 pts, which is the amount Spurs have now. Secondly, Conte was sacked after the 28th game last season, so wasn't even manager at the 32nd game, and they were on 49 pts when he left.
He was only taking the mickey

Technicalities
Come. On guy's,it was Newcastle s brilliance and creativity and tactical genius that thumped Tottenham, give Newcastle and Eddie Howe their due,ffs
its called counter attacking football
"Brilliance and creativity" - Newcastle are highest rank team in terms of winning 4-0 with the least possession.
I can't say I know 100% why Tottenham conceded 4 against Newcastle. But from what I saw it really boiled down to two poor defensive errors in VDV who slipped twice within 2 minutes. The third was a high line beaten by a single overhead ball. And the fourth was from a corner than Spurs have been victim to all season.
Considering Newcastle are still 10 points or so behind Tottenham, which this late in the season isn't a matter of circumstance but more a matter of patterns of play. And also considering Fulham beat Spurs 3-0 doing the exact same tactic (the matches were almost mirrors of each other), I really wouldn't put it down to "brilliance and creativity". This comes down to individual errors, and some teams willing to play against Tottenham in a certain way that does not work against other teams. So that is what adaptability and tactical prowess is.
The reality is, without the two VDV slips (and I mean individual errors happen - it doesn't make a player bad. Steven Gerrard comes to mind. As well as mistakes Ederson has made. Look at the goals Liverpool conceded against UTD as well - they just shot themselves in the foot due to individual errors). Then drawing analysis from the game is difficult.
What can you really take away from Newcastle's performance this game? Well in short-term, they beat Spurs. They countered them perfectly. They pressured when the ball was not in their half, man to man, and then when they did not have the ball in their half, they put 11 men behind the ball and waited.
The reality is, without the two individual errors, Newcastle would have probably won 1-0, 2-0, or it would have been 0-0. The issue with individual errors is that it kind of ruins games from a tactical standpoint. This is evident when it is only a single goal, and sometimes can be brushed off. But when it is two, from the same player, the entire game gets washed. Just look at the champions league final and Karius. That entire game was effectively ruined. That's because when a CB or a GK makes an error, it's really game over.
Long-term, something isn't right at Newcastle still. And that's why they're 10 points behind Spurs. This game was clearly a one-off considering Newcastle are quite behind Spurs in the league, and on top of that, Tottenham haven't lost this bad all season, combined with Newcastle's astonishingly low possession.
In total, this is why this is more about Spurs than Newcastle. Newcastle weren't 'amazing'. Isaak was clinical. And above that, Spurs made 3-4 errors leading directly to goals.
haha noooooo..wake up from your dreams
Two slips from defenders is creative genius? You Newcastle fans need to get off the packet it’s Monday now you sad lowlifes
@@garyc2630nonsense. The two mistakes came from players pressuring the defence. That’s a tactic - high press.
Possession means nothing - how many shots did Spurs have?
Newcastle made Spurs poor... We get no credit off talksport!
Same old story. Whenever Newcastle win it's because the other team played badly, not that they looked bad against Newcastle.
Exactly
When did Newcastle last win a trophy??? Spurs get hammered for not winning trophies despite being the 6th most decorated club in the country. Anyone would think our cabinet is empty and your worried about not getting recognition for one game? Sums the world up

The media's love affair with Tottenham is ridiculous. Newcastle United caused Tottenham to play poorly. Eddie Howe got his tactics spot on, but all across the media for the last couple of days it's been about how bad Tottenham played. Tottenham probably wouldn't even be in a champions league race if Newcastle didnt have the worst injury list I've ever seen since I started watching football. Apparently the injury list works out to be on avarage 14 players a game have been missing through injury so far this season. Surely that's unprecedented, and must have cost Newcastle at least 15 points. Nick Pope on his own is probably worth a good ten points, because Dubravka has caused Newcastle to drop points with his flapping and fumbling around in the box.
At the end of the season they’ll have ~1600 man/days lost to injury… in a 200 day long season. That’s insane to be 6th and only getting stronger.

What did he say that was wrong here? Am I missing something?
Celtic fans called it when Spurs got Ange, that his first season will have some blips. He needs time, get in his players and move from there. Quite frankly, getting spurs to 5th or 4th after the last few years of disjointed management and losing the clubs talisman is an achievement that not many managers would pull off. Spurs need to back him in the Summer and then go from there. Think people forget he's not been at Spurs for even a season yet. Klopp and Arteta didnt exactly have fantastic first years.

Newcastle hitting a bit of good form. Players coming in playing well. Barnes is a great asset. Gordon on fire bruno is exceptional. Isak is sheer class. It’s no shame in losing to a quality team like Newcastle utd.
All credit to Newcastle played bloody well with a skeleton squad . Would be higher up the table but for injuries . It’s no disgrace losing at ST James park but my side are SO easy and predictable to play against . We MUST give Big Ange time can’t keep sacking managers after all . However he has to realise this is England not Scotland ( no disrespect intended ) . The premier league is the toughest in world football and his naivety is becoming worryingly apparent . Our players also need to take a bloody hard look at themselves , reluctant to go into battle on Saturday ,poor attitude and even poorer application .
We need Bissouma back to his best or for him to be rested and someone stronger playing in his position instead. It’s not the only reason and I really don’t like to dig out players, but ever since that second red card Bissouma received he’s been a shadow of the player he was before.
@@christianbrienesse. Biss form or lack of it is extremely worrying I agree , also Madders is well off it , I swear he’s not fit despite what Ange says .Too many passengers in this team right now , too little effort or desire… we’ve been here before . As a neutral you had to be at St James’ park to see just how bad Spurs were. I am surprised that they eventually got one shot on target.
True, although should have been 1-0 up with Werner’s latest sitter. Was just as bad a performance as Newcastle’s at Tottenham in December!
Spurs didn't show up but Newcastle were really good. Ange's first season after selling their best striker within the Top 6 is decent finish.
Big Ange and Kevin Keegan seem to have the same philosophy of management. They both prefer to coach their teams on their own style of play and have the opposition worry about them and not focus to much on the other team. This worked for Keegan when it was going well but he was lacking when it was going against him and he only had one style of play with no plan B and I see exactly the same with The big Aussie
That's a very good observation.
We always batter tottenham at St James. It'd have been a shock if we lost tbf.
Spurs and Newcastle batter each other at home. Last 3 seasons Spurs have beaten Newcastle 5-1 and 4-1 and Newcastle have beaten Spurs 6-1 and 4-0. The other two games in those seasons were low scoring away wins for both if my memory serves me right.

All indications are they’ll likely finish 5th but they are making hard for themselves.
One Newcastle didn’t get enough credit for being the way they were tactically too, and two spurs didn’t sort things out prior to the game tactically. That’s asking for trouble. Newcastle have beaten city, Man U twice, Chelsea, spurs, Paris etc and only marginally lost to Milan Dortmund and city again. Ofc they know what to do but they prepare. If they don’t have the energy to they drop points. When they have the energy they leather ya. Spurs should have learnt at this stage of the Season when they’ve worked hard and have players fit they needed to tweak things and they didn’t.
Also, this video. Pointless. No one answered the question, Martin takes a year to get a sentence out and doesn’t answer the question it’s like having Steve Bruce on.

What's the difference between Conte refusing to adapt and Ange refusing to adapt?
It's exactly the same from both managers except one was defensive. The other is attack (so the majority are happy)
There’s a big difference. One is a positive mentality and the other is a negative one. I’d rather tinker with positivity.

So your answer is to basically repeat my post 🤡
One has a new and improved back line, and the other had Dier, Lloris, Davies, and Emerson as a wingback for half a season.
Sadly Ange is either slow on the uptake or stubborn, decent managers will rip apart that high line, it happened at Fulham and now Newcastle, his attitude about top 4 is way off. He does talk about challenging top 3 for the prem NEXT season, stay humble Ange !

Don’t care if we don’t make champions league, it is this squad that are looking like some new transfers haven’t done well consistently! Player like Maddison I was expecting a 10/10 goals assist season,Kulu has had major issues shooting or setup passes to the FC and should be scoring a lot more,Pape Sarr struggling as what position is he playing needs more assists and his spacing going forward in the box,Johnson a young talented player needs to back himself for shooting and prefer him play RW, Bissiuma not taking on players not running the ball into the opp half quick enough on counter and should shoot more, most guys need to take the ball forward by foot and lay off to me the football is there but the players still fearing losing the ball or mistake!! As a Fan I like to see players moving the ball quicker and get Udogie driving into box wanna see good shooters taking chance shots at goal, but with players we have taking on players through middle of the park and chip pass over the line for son and company.?

Get a grip they were a shambles wen ange walked in, so its his second season that counts...
The title is outrageously misleading, how is Simon Jordan ok with this kind of headline?
The tide is turning on Big Ange. No plan A, didn't have one at celtic and got away with it (until they played in the champions league), teams have worked them out in the prem, you can see that in the amount of goals they concede, he's the aussie kevin keegan.
Flange postenoclue
Tottenham fan here....Top 4th qualifying for a competition we can't win. BTW Jim your facts are wrong and Dier mate love you but your legs had gone, don't set the place of fire on your way out.
Saying what he thinks and his observations
What is wrong with that?
Dier was asked a question
Clearly u don't like it
@@loudmouthdiaries5188 couldn't careless about the question tbh, Dier's comments are based on his previous managers methods none of which won anything, coming from a player who is long past his best....did I say anything was wrong with that?? No!
@@ducati916SPS he shared his observations
Don't get snippy
"They lost Harry Kane" They did? What did they win with That player and the system the team played with him as the front guy? The same as what Bayern will win this season. So please. They didnt lose anything. They finally got rid.
If the EPL get 5 champions league teams for the first time ever, and Newcastle overtake Tottenham for 5th (which could happen given Spurs remaining schedule) taking the final CL spot, that would be the most Spursy thing ever 😂 HWTL
Oneil nails it again
NUFC'S First 11 Smokes Tottenhams strongest 11 and we done it with our 3rd string
My concern with Postecoglou is his tactical naivety and his lack of a plan B.
The guy's 58, it's too late for him to become tactically astute.
I think other teams have started to figure out 'Angeball' and with the extra fixtures we're likely to have next season, the team will struggle.
I would be very surprised if Tottenham finish higher in the table next season than this season.
Might work for Celtic, but not down south 😢
Is Jim back on the grog?
🎶can we play Spurs everyweek!! HTLs 🏴🏳
At home preferably 😅
@@Yorkshiregod88 home is a good idea because I am pretty sure Spurs battered your mob 4 - 1 at our place. But let's forget about that 🙄
Sorry, what have Spurs won? What is top 4? champions league? and then what? more games but never a cup.
Big Ange won't lose any sleep over Simon 😴
Ange as a manager has been found out.
Why is Simon so bricked up for Ange?? weird
U know what will b funny? Tottenham lose their 10 points lead to Newcastle United by the end of the season 😂😂😂
As a spurs fan I fail to see the humor 😢
Postecoglou knows he has a weak team and isn't ready for challenging for the premiership. I think we will get no more than six points with the difficult fixtures we have remaining.
It’s who we are mate
A great analogy from Martin O'Neil ..... and a stupid headline on this thread by the way !!
Similar to a group of nuns v whirling dervishes
One game the are amazing. Next they're tripe lol. Getting sick of football and the bloody media. Sack every manager and do it now lol. The entire thing is Utopia.
Talk sport is soooo bias but then again plastic Jordan does have candlelight dinners with Levy of Tottenham
Tottenham well beating
Maybe Simon would like Conte back!
Ange is copping it, fair enough, but give Newcastle their dues
Postecoglu is achieving exactly what every Spurs manager has done for over a decade 😂. Zero progress at Spurs for YEARS 😂😂😂😂.
Ange and spurs have been found out.
Oh, you fell for the bait as well. Welcome to the bottomless pit, it’s amazing 😑
Spurs been found out now
Chellini😂😂😂😂😂 It's the history of the Tottenham
the bloom is off the rose a lot of our fanbase are only now realizing how out of his depth Ange is :(
