It's definitely foolish for Celtic fans to claim there is a massive gap. Look at how Rangers won the league in 2021 and completely blew Celtic apart and ended up winning the league by 15 points. Take nothing for granted. Clement makes a few good signings in the key areas and then rangers could turn it around again. Also the fact Rangers took it till the last 2 games shows they can still put up a challenge. You just have to take your games against Celtic If you are gonna win the title as it's those games where you win or lose the title. Souness and then the likes of Kenny Miller definitely embarrassing themselves this past week, Kris Boyd actually not so much this time. 😂

I'll just remind Martin that when he came into Celtic, he spoke up the Dick Advocaat Rangers team that were light years ahead of Celtic at that time. However, if you recall, Martin's team overcame that Rangers team in his first season. So, ever since then I've realised that apart from when Rangers came back into the league and Gerrard won the title, there is not enough of a gap to think Celtic will continue on winning the title with little trouble. I believe they are a better team and have a better squad. They probably play more attractive football. But that is this season. Teams change. And the gap between either team is now not big enough to think it can't be overturned. That's naive, and Martin knows it to be untrue.

We were in great place after the Europa final and again we failed to invest - we’d still have got our arses handed to us in the CL games but domestically we fell apart then as well. I can't stand Souness and I much prefer Celtic to Rangers.
However, I have to sympathise with Souness to an extent. The difference in points is not much, 6 points.
Celtic have a much stronger old firm record this season, getting 9 extra points than Rangers. However, if you take away the old firm fixtures then Rangers have more points than Celtic. Also, even though Celtic won at the weekend, at 2-1 up against 10 men they were somewhat holding on at the end. Rangers were also the ones chasing the winner down in the recent 3-3 draw. The results are lobsided but the balance of play was not.
So while Celtic are the superior team and deservedly won the league, it's just wrong to state there is a gulf in class between the 2 squads. It's this season that matters and there hasn't been a big difference.

I don't agree with Jordan. Rangers' European results over the last 5 years or so do not equate to such a dismal analysis of their quality; their 2022 Champions League group stage performances notwithstanding. That is being objective. I am a Celtic fan and do think there is a quality gap between the two teams but it has been greatly exacerbated by an horrendous injury-list at Ibrox over the last couple of months. Celtic and Rangers are definitely inferior to the sides of 2000, but I think this Celtic side is pretty much on par with most Celtic sides post-2010. I think Celtic are only 3-4 top quality players off from challenging for second and third places again in ECL groups and the club has the money to get them.

I think Desmond and Rodgers has got that sorted out between them and is not good enough ..Only Celtic do well
against the mediocre sides in Spl ..And Celtic lose many goals via high balls into their box ..The club have many millions of £s in the bank now around £70m before winning this title ..and now another £60 m pounds on top with winning this very title
in which hands Celtic Champs league group games ..and season tickets shall be renewed which hands many more millions
    to the clubs board
And also Merchandise the club are rolling in it with around £150 m as seems also Oriley maybe away this Summer to Epl ?
But Celtic are still rolling in many millions of £s even without player sales out the door ..and are sitting on a tidy sum and should be a good fair millions of £s put away towards some better calibre of players in need for Europe , and from goalie to Centre back them priorities are well in need . Why are Celtic board always stingy ? This Q/ when they have many millions in their bank and in a very healthy state ..They have not played game with team or fans for many yrs now regards signings ..recent yrs singings have been because they sold one of their better players and they never touched any of their millions within bank to buy odd player as hardly spent out ..When they did it was half if that millions spent which came to them via player sale/s out door only . Nothing has come out of their bank at all Celtic fc .
