  • Computer is fixed, and I busted out Time Paradox Ghostwriter as fast as I could.
This was the 2nd script I actually wrote for Seamoore Manga, and I re-recorded it all almost 4 times. I'm glad I could finally release it!
Look forward to more videos in the future, I think I'm starting to get the hang of it all...

Glad to see the upload especially after what just happened. Now that's out of the way, I'm surprised with how many people actually liked TPGW. Don't get me wrong, the art is nice but that's where my compliment ends. Mind you, I'm looking through an editor lense.
The character isn't immediately gripping, even the main character. Yeah sure, Itsuki might die but I'm not attached to her. Next, there's no clear arc of where the manga would go. The direction is conflicted between two focus, either go sports shonen and compete with other manga in TOC like Bakuman or zero in the time travel aspect, both of which going to degrade the story if it wasn't balanced correctly.
It's ironic how the MC struggle to put his own identity in his manga just like this lacks the author's. Maybe its meta? Who knows.
Judging from the latest chapter, it seems more obvious that they are trying to pull up their rankings from the bottom. Which, in return only manage to heighten the stakes while still not telling what's the manga direction. Sasaki needs to figure out his story and makes it better than Aino's? They didn't even let the readers knows what's the manga they're making like what Bakuman did. Oh no, Aino's is still better. How? How is it hers is still better? Where did she went with her manga? We don't know, they just tell that it is without letting the readers judge for themselves.

Honestly, I don't disagree with anything you said. I can see it going cliche, or just plain boring, but im along for the ride

@@SeamooreManga The sad part is, I'm going along with the ride too. I won't say this much if it's not on WSJ. It'll be serialized for far much longer and probably won't have to worry about the constant looming axe on it's neck.
I'm tired of Jump axing decent series, but at the same time, I'm conflicted since they need to find their next big hit and almost none of any new series hits that spot

I really hope TPGW can find its footing in jump and continue on for a while- I’ve heard that Japanese readers really didn’t like the “glorification of plagiarism” in the earlier chapters. I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops though! Jump needs well written stories like this especially now that Act-Age might be getting axed because of the author’s arrest.

It’s an interesting hook/premise & I really liked how you framed the mc’s struggles. I haven’t read the lastest chapters but I don’t see it lasting mostly bc of the “plagiarism” lense & Japanese readers not liking that. The art is beautiful & is it does get axed I’d love for this duo to get another shot at a series

I disagree with the vid, not really a fan of TPG or its MC but I'm dropping a like for your great editing.
Personally I feel this author needs to step back, take a break and maybe look at more things beside manga. Time Paradox feels so narrow minded that we dont even get to see the manga progression like in Bakuman and the side characters are there for one panel to praise the MC or give some exposition. The story progression feels odd and at times I'm not even sure how the author expects us to find the MC continuing White Knight a noble deed.
If the MC is so good at art but bad at stories, maybe he should have become a pair with the girl just like the mangaka in real life? That was my initial idea in chapter 1, but instead she immediately joins and leaves his studio to instantly make some masterpiece manga. It's just odd to me. After the latest chapter, I cant help but feel the manga will be cancelled, which is even sadder when the author literally reached into the manga to help it along

Honestly it accelerated the story too much and skipped out on answering all the interesting questions raised by the premise. What happens when a writer finds himself tasked with carrying on the well established vision of someone else? The answer ends up being "eh it's not as good but it's fine" and all we ever have to go on is what vague statements other characters make about the story. We don't know what made White Knight so special in the first place and how Teppei's style of writing influences it. We never really see enough of him trying to cover up his lack of the talent and insight that went into actually making White Knight. The series also buries Aino's feeling of understandable bitterness immediately and becomes friends with the guy who took the vision she had away from her in a way that didn't feel believable to me.
There's also the problem of latest chapters being more concerned about some silly Stein;s Gatesque save the girl plot then it is with what I had hoped for.
As far as being a story about up and coming creator's, I wish this series could've been a lot more like Bakuman, which actually gave a shit about showing the fictional manga that the characters in it used to compete against each other. I'd rather be reading Muto Ashirogi's Perfect Crime Party than what this became. This series is way too quick to sprint over the weekly grind that Bakuman painstakingly dragged it's author through so it doesn't feel as earned to know that Teppei is doing well for himself after not having any material to steal when I don't how exactly he went about adapting to Aino's universe. It's just so terribly rushed.
First volume sold horribly so it's likely getting axed too
