Definitely the 2nd hardest video I've ever edited. Batista's run was gold simply put. I think it's a shame it never continued past Over the Limit but then again, It could've gotten worse, who knows. He upped his game during this time and I commend him for that. What did you think of Batista's heel turn?
WWE really liked to remind us that Eddie was dead remember the same thing happened in the rivalry with Edge and Rey in 2008
The lights out was a great addition for Batista al thought that would had looked better in 2019 with his Hollywood star gimmick
It was pretty unnecessary. Batista was capable of gaining heat during that time. And regardless, Eddie shouldn't really be involved.
@@wrestlingspremier not only him Edge and Vickie were hate magnets
It should’ve continued
I loved Batista in the mid 2000's. Late 2000's Batista was good, but his mid 2000's run hits different.
Rey come on now dave think about Eddie
Batista: Eddie is dead
Randy Orton: i said that first
Yeah, it like he didn’t have that hunger anymore
Facts.
You mean early 2010's?
@@terrancecarmichael619 nah he means late 2000s. After Armageddon 2007, Batista just wasn’t the same. 2008-2010, he was good, but not great. Technically Batista only spent a few months in WWE in the early 2010s, the first few months of 2010, and the first few months of 2014.
Batista had the most lit entrance out of everyone fr
Facts. Ill never get tired of it
Na not out of everyone his most def was lit tho I’m not taking that away from him
To me Mark Henry's had the most hype and rhythm to it but Batista definitely had a top 3 entrance
@@terrancecarmichael619
Mark Henry had a great theme song, but he simply walked to the ring. No pyro, no grandiose posing. To each their own, I suppose.
@@im2alias202 who had the better entrance then
Svr 2011 vibes right now. THQ should of given him his Road To WrestleMania storyline in the game
I thought about that while making the video. Even mentioned it but decided to cut it out.
Nobullshit
@@wrestlingspremier shoulda left it in there bro 💪🏾💪🏾
@@wrestlingspremier please make an SVR 2008 review
“Rey im going to rip your head off” Was such a legendary line.
YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE MY FRIEND
@@stevendchu 🤣🤣😂😂😭😭
Meh, it was nowhere near legendary.
His heel turn against Rey Mysterio is one of my favorite WWE moments of all time, not even kidding. You're supposed to be my friend!!!!!!!!!!!
"I'm gonna rip your head off" still gives me chills.
And when he said to Rey: Eddie's dead!😳
@@ohlord3650 Yep, he was so calm about it. It was done perfectly.
@@RoxChaseDi9 yet he mentioned how he felt uncomfortable saying that
I can still hear him saying this and I'm sure I haven't heard it more than once or twice since I saw it live
If Batista was WWE Champ longer, this would be appreciated
His wwe tittle reign in 2009 as babyface should be longer(at least 3 months) and he should stayed in smackdown during his heel run and beat the undertaker in tlc 2009 and face edge or rey mysterio for world heavyweight championship
Still one of the best heel runs ever. It's magic, and can't be replicated.
I think Dave turning heel saved his career.
So true
No bro they made him a shit as the guy who couldn't beat Cena and Taker even Rey Mysterio and Edge (even early). In 2005-2008 Batista destroyed them all
I think his heel run help solidify him is one of the true greats !!
@@Itayarav i believe when Vince fined Dave 100k, that was the begining of the end.
The animal was supposed to unleash in 2014 but damn that daniel bryan fans ruined it. Making their guy win a match is so shameful and as a batista fan, it hurtled me
Lemme tell ya man Batista as a kid was easily my favorite I loved him🤣
same lol
"Cena's dream to main event Wrestlemania for like the 5th time...was ruined." Idk why, I thought that was funny as hell
I see Batista, I click.
If only this run was longer.
The only negative thing about it, that it was short.
@@chimeratcg07 exactly
That's not about the run. That's about lose to Cena every match...
He should of beaten cena at wrestlemania .
@@AD-ur1fk yeah I know. If not at WM. He sould've been beat him twice at their rivaly after WM at least once and before in 2010 once.
When he left I was so pissed cause I was enjoying his heel run. This and his 2005 run on top are two of my favorites. Really felt bad for him during 2014 though, wrong place at the wrong time.
2014 was more like the wrong place at the right time
@@MortanAMrk I can understand that since he had the heel run that lead those killer matches with Evolution and the Shield
"Kissing babies and hugging Fat girls"..that line alone sold heel Batista for me
You hated him as a kid but appreciate him now. It was an awesome run.
I like the heel run , his peak was 2005-2007 but I enjoyed his heel run
One of the most underrated heel runs of all time. Batista really shined as a major heel and his mic skills was amazing. He showed the world that he was tired of playing 2nd fiddle to Cena and Mysterio
He wasn’t 2nd fiddle to rey, cena maybe
@@mike04574even to cena no 2005 to 2007 Batista was bigger than cena
Batista is such an underrated mic worker.
His heel promos were very memorable, the spotlight stuff and the ducktape promo was awesome stuff.
Batista's heel run in late 2009 early mid 2010 is so underrated and not appreciated enough
How could it be since wwe lost one of their biggest stars due to it ?
No it's shit. It could be the greatest rivaly of all time Cena vs Batista if they did it rightly and not give Cena to win every match. It was like Stone Cold vs The Rock of the PG era...
@@Itayarav I mean at least Batista smacked Cena at Summerslam 2008.
@@wegoku7274 yeah he destroyed him
I wish Batista entered the chamber match before announcing Cena wins his 8th world championship, since he never won a chamber match
“KISSING BABIES AND HUGGING FAT GIRLS!!!” - best line of the entire PG Era
Major throwback I started watching wrestling during this time.
Batista heel run was underrated and I wished I would of lasted longer but cena didn’t need to beat Batista like 3 times and I thought that was unnecessary.Batista a legend!
That was unnecessary and poor booking on part of WWE, imagining heel Batista continuing his run best thing about him was he didn't depend upon sidekicks for matches. Lone wolf heel was necessary also those three consecutive wins for Cena actually initiated hate for Cena among fans.
I remember this turn disappointing me at first with his feud with Rey and Taker. But once he moved to RAW and feuded with Cena, that's when we got to see some of his best work on the mic. Kissing babies and hugging fat girls line will always be classic.
As a kid you stood for Cena as you grow older you understand Batista.
And i was neither mouahaha Jeff Hardy for the win !
@@MN_2003 facts brotha. _FACTS_
Nah I still loves him
I still love john cena😂😂
Agreed
I was 9-10 years old in batistas heel years. Looking back on it at 20, it must’ve been a good run because i really hated heel batista…or maybe i was just a cena/hardy stan
I was 6 during his heel year and I hated him too, looking back at 17 it not only showed how good it must've been but I think it was also because I was a huge Rey/Cena stan.
He was like Piper/Savage in the 80s, HBK/Hollywood Hogan in the 90s and HHH in the early 2000s. These men made grown adults throw garbage in the ring, but they were the best things in that ring. It's crazy cuz ppl of Batista's archetype aren't usually that good as heels, unless they're monsters or bullies.
Same I'm 9 durinf this time. Wish I could back in those times 😪
Bro same I *HATED* Batista so much
Was 9 too! WWE from mid 2009-2011 was my absolute favourite looking back
I was shocked back in 09 that they even turned him heel with how well they built the leaving evolution storyline in early 05
Batista was the last legit heel in WWE. I see Roman as one of the best after him but WWE lacks super stars. No stars are made, just guys from other companies doing their own thing. Drew and Roman are the only believable guys on the main roster Right now.
Wwe don’t allow no one else to feel legit. It’s the way they booked them
@@ChanBoogie310 100% agree.
Whenever people get over on their own it’s like they punish them for doing that
@@moorekeicephillips Ryder is a prime example.
@@tayyab4696 And Rusev
Batista's heel turn is one of the rare cases of wrestling where few wrestlers are so loved being faces, and so hated being heels, wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Eddie Guerrero, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold and Ric Flair are examples of that
What's your favorite Batista quote?
-YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE MY FRIEND!!!
-Basketballs don't hold grudges
-Give me what I want
-Weapons are not only welcomed, the they're allowed
- I HATE YOU TOO!
- Kissing babies and hugging fat girls
- DEAL WITH IT!
Kissing babies and hugging fat girls takes the cake for me.
I HATE YOU TOO!
Don't forget the ducktape line lol
-HHHUUUUUHHHH
And i drink one of these before a match
Ngl 05-08 Batista hit different 😭 Batista really had one of the greatest careers of all time definitely one of the goat
Agree bro!
I will always be a Batista fan
Batista was my favorite wrestler And I was pissed when he had retired in 2010 that had kind of hurt the company and I lost interest in wwe for a little bit.
The lack of his presence took me out as well
Nah face of smackdown 2005-08 run was something else🔥
The lights out was a great addition for Batista al thought that would had looked better in 2019 with his Hollywood star gimmick
A lot about what Batista said and did in this run was on point. His resentment toward Cena and direction of the business as well as him wanting and deserving more. What man cant relate to this when they worl hard day in and day out but are being passed on for opportunities?
I wish this heel gimmick lasted much longer than it actually did, but for what we got, it was golden.
He needed that turn as his babyface run was running it's course.
Had batista came back as this batista in 2014 he would of had a better run!! But this Batista I remembered was great! But his babyface run was just as good as well i have to say to
yeah would also be better if he feuded with Daniel Bryan After WM back then
Comparing this guys face to today is like looking at 2 completely different people.
Exactly!!!
Video Idea: Was Theodore “Teddy” Long the Best General Manger Ever?
Simple answer: yes.
You really have to question that playa? Well you’ll find out your answer tonight, you got a match with .... THE UNDERTAKER! Holla!
@@haroutdemirjian8831 LMAOOOOO one of my favorite things about Teddy Long is that he would not hesitate to get somebody fucked up. He’d be like “oh you talkin shit? Aight bet, good luck in your match tonight.... against KANE.” Then that person gets their ass beat in 45 seconds
And tonight playah, you get to face... THE Undertakah.
Find that out tonight on yo steel cage match against DA UNDATAKA PLAYA‼️
I was at that Raw he quit. Crazy, couldn't believe it
I thought it was a work for a whole year. Turns out it was legit lol
Batista became ultimate baby face after becoming Drax the destroyer. I only watched WWE when he was in evolution and only watched guardians of galaxy cuz he was in the movie and got me hooked up to the other MCU, I always appreciated his work be it face against hunter or heel turn.
When I was a kid I loved when Batista turned as a heel 🙏🏾
I really wish Batista would've made up with Rey Mysterio before retiring :(
Cena made him look so weak in the end and it still pisses me off
Supercena was in full force back then.
Man I'm glad I'm not the only one.. Dave should've went over at least once. It's the reason why i stopped watching wrestling.
Yeah I wanted Batista to win Cena three times and Cena would retire him in WM 26/27 and it could make the greatest rivaly of all time. Like Stone Cold vs The Rock of the PG era...
2009-2012 cena was the asbolute worse
@@nathancardenas2719 2009 and 2010 he was in his prime Cena's prime 2006-2010.
Batista was my all time favorite was pissed when he turn heel.
So it was supposed to be cena v batista wrestlemania 25? Not bad, so that whole vicky big show and edge thing was plan b? Or they just added cena to it?
if you can see Cena there in that Triple threat match, he's the odd man, it was suppose to be Cena vs Batista II at WM25 but unfortunately Batista couldn't make it on time for the storyline
Little did we all know that he would go on to have the best range of any wrestler-turned-actor. He's got serious acting chops.
Damn . I love how "I walk for miles inside this pit of danger" hits but instead of fireworks it's a spotlight. Love it.
I feel bad for Batista when he quit
“You think I’m playin, Rey, I ain’t playin. I’m gonna rip your head off” I will never forget until the day I die the way those lines made me feel when I first seen it. It’s one of the most impactful moments I’ve ever seen in wrestling.
Heel Batista from 2009-2010 is a classic. How? Because of this awesome line:
*"And while you're out here kissing babies and hugging fat girls, I'm busy hitting the gym, thinking of many ways I'm gonna beat the hell out of you at WrestleMania!"*
Plus, his heel turn is one of the greatest of all time. He really switched up his game.
I do think that he should have won the World Heavyweight Championship at TLC 2009 after everything.
I did hate how he was scripted to say "Eddie's dead" though (granted, it wasn't his decision).
Another great comment was when he looked at the crowd and called them all dollarsigns, and that he didn't see people, but money. The boos were great
7:24 Batista's disappointed father look is hilarious. He legit looks like a disappointed father.
Finally some Batista CONTENT !!!! My second favorite after Edge lol
WWE really liked to remind us that Eddie was dead remember the same thing happened in the rivalry with Edge and Rey in 2008
*RIP EDDIE‼️I LIE I CHEAT I STEAL*
Man, Batista was just scary as hell at this time as a heel! Also I have always DESPISED that spinner belt but I must say, I think it looked best on Batista honestly. Especially in the one promo where he's wearing all that jewelry with it, badass man.
Batista has the best fits and drip in wrestling history
His 2005 run was better than his 2010 run in my opinion
I prefer it too.
After 2007 Batista got boring his prime was from 2005-2007
because he suffered had injury, twice between Dec. 2008 to June 2009
I LOVED his heel run before he left. It ended too fast
I loved the ending to the last man standing match between Cena and Batista. It was hilarious.
And look at Dave now, he starred in the biggest movie of all time 👏🏽👏🏽
yeah I also loved the '05 run, but i'm pretty sure this reign is slighty better, because they made him seem like he was only in the company for the money and didn't care what the outcome was he'd always have to be "right"
A Batista video on my birthday? Today was a good day!!!!!!
I loved that extreme rules match to me it showed that even tho john was a baby face he would do anything 2 win that title i laughed so hard when he ducked taped batista's feet together and taunted him right in his face i loved that heel moment from cena and always will
That Batista heel turn was so genius, god bless him and Rey
Never thought batista should've taken 3 straight L's to cena
Bruh imagine if Batista didn’t quit after the Raw after Over The Limit 👀 he should’ve had a decent heel title run but we all know “Super Cena” wasn’t gonna let that happened😂😂
Get off cena dick. Vince run wwe not cena
@@sweetpetergeda Lol, stop pretending to be tough behind a screen
That heel turn on Rey was so well done, made me a believer. Aaaand then he quit, twice. 😂🤣😂🤣
Batista did a really great job though I didn't like that Batista had lost 3 times in a row to Cena especially with getting duct taped & losing the I Quit match in a humiliating manner
I think they were aware of him departing so they had him do the job. I do think he should've won at Extreme Rules though.
@@wrestlingspremier I'm sure the ending was meant to humiliate Dave before he left as wrestlers usually end up losing a lot or getting humiliated before leaving WWE
They have a tendency to do that to guys who leave on their own terms.
@@wrestlingspremier This rivalry had potential it was like Stone cold vs the rock
They ruined Batista by making him lose every time to John cena
Batista should have won at Wrestlemania 26
and then lose to cena at extreme rules
That would be better
@@elmaz46 I’ve always had a weird feeling that if Batista stayed they would’ve kept the title on him a little longer. Him getting the WWE Championship the way he did at Elimination Chambers always felt like it was the company trying to convince him to not leave and when he didn’t resign they just had Cena go over the way he did in those 3 matches.
“GIMME MY SPOTLIGHT!!!”
Y’all tweakin 05-08 Batista will always be my favorite He was the face of Smackdown during that time and he did a damn good job too ion care wat nobody say he carried smackdown and his feud with Undertaker was legendary
Nah bro Jimmy Wang Yang carried smackdown
As a kid this run was the first time i cheered for the heel since i was and still am such a huge batista stan
The Chairs match build made me forget that this was before the banned head chairshots.
I started watching wrestling during Batista’s prime(2005)so Yk he’s my #1 all time fav.🤝
Been waiting for this!!!!!
Heel Batista is my all time favorite character, the Fiend and tribal chief are close seconds.
Side note so much respect for him not squashing Daniel Bryan.
Little did the majority of us know that this heel run was him making a case for Hollywood.
As a kid I loved Batista and hated cena 😂
I still do.
Main event mafia tna?
When I was a kid I used to light fire crackers and imitate batistas entrance 🤣🤣🤣
Just recently found your channel and I’m loving every second of it! You got a sub from me mate! +1 keep that grind up. Think my favorite video so far has been your two nexus videos
I agree completely and love this heel Batista run
Oh man 2009-10 was Great!!!! ...One of the few Performers that kept me watching...during the "PG era"...🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
They really had Dave come out in the pink polo with the collar popped, as if we wouldn't understand what he was referencing already lol.
Batista 2010 version was best for business. I’m sad during that time, but atlist before left the WWE he entertained us with his spotlight gimmick. 💯
This Batista had real character
I wanted to see Cena turn heel more than Batista at that time, but damn did Batista knock it out of the park. I’d say I wish he stuck around longer, but after taking multiple L’s to Cena, he was looking pretty bad and it probably would’ve gotten worse so it was probably for the best that he left when he did.
Batista in 2009 was struggling with injuries and poor form until his heel turn. One of his best run in WWE right up there with his legendary run in 2005. From turning on Rey Mysterio to winning the WWE championship from John Cena. Too bad he left after the I quit match with John Cena.
Awesome video
Batista 2005 hits different
Still remember this as a 9 year old. Which I could go back in those times 😪
Love from Canada🇨🇦🤟🏾❤️
I think this would’ve been a good time to change the WWE title since he was a rival of Cena
man his story on how almost nobody said goodbye or anything to him on his last night makes me feel so bad for him
Cena & Batista are two of my childhood heroes, I hoped back in the days, that he would win the world title at WWE's TLC 09 & we would have seen the old Batista we all loved. Then when the feud with Cena starts, I was splitted between both sides but more on Cena's. When Dave quits, I feeling bad for cheering Cena. I don't want he leaving WWE for good.
Now a days I wished the storyline between the both were more balanced then it was. Maybe Dave should have won at Wrestlemania XXVI.
When Batista comes back in 2014, I thought he will be the monster heel that I want to see him. I hoped he will be the winner in the main event of wrestlemania XXX.
Welcome to your regularly schedule program. WrestlingsPremier and his awesome videos
More to come!
Batista should have won at Wrestlemania
Simple as that
Even if he lost the title at extreme rules it doesn't matter, he should've had the Mania victory
Batista is always great but 2009-2010 was really batista's best run
His best run was 2005-2007
They ruined him by making him lose every time to John cena in 2010
Batista should have won at Wrestlemania 26
and then lose to cena at extreme rules
That would be better
I liked him in 2007 when he was on his mission to reclaim the world title after losing it to Undertaker at WM23
