INTERNET's GOOD! I'm hyped now because it won't cause me to deviate from my original plans. Month is gonna be filled with some good content including Rated RKO. Regarding this feud, I'm gonna continue the story with Del Rio next week in order to fill the gaps. I enjoyed making it and I hope you guys find some enjoyment in it aswell. What did you guys think of this feud?
It’s kinda funny that cena Attacked Punk just because Punk said that Cena was the New York Yankees
CM Punk returns
A lowkey underated match they had was on raw 2013 i recommend people watch it
Yo could you please do a vid on the jeff hardy heel run from TNA in 2010
William Regal video !
To this day, I still think Punk and Cena were each other’s greatest rivals, and absolutely brought the best out of each other. They’re the Austin and Rock of their time. Opposites really do attract.
yea i highly disagree as theres a guy named edge that wants you to put some respect on his fueds with cena
Randy Orton would like to speak with you
Punk and Cena got the first 5 star match of WWE in a long time. That’s how big their rivalry was. Orton and Edge as Cena’s opponent were awesome, but Punk was definitely a special opponent for Cena.
Tell Edge, Orton and anyone else to get in line behind Punk and shut the f up.
Punk-Cena was the feud that defined the last decade. Easily Cena’s greatest rival.
The magic they created is unmatched to this day.
PERIOD.
Jeff Pryce just because you say it with attitude and the sass of 20 year old women doesn’t make it right. Cena two biggest fueds in his career are Randy Orton. and edge both of which set him up to be the face of the company. The cm punk feud was well done, and super good, but it was less than 6 months and punk was out the wwe a year and half later. It didn’t define shit for cena or his legacy other than give him 1 5 star match which eh already had gotten with facing michaels at wrestlemania. people just like the feud so they think it’s greater than it really was. The crux of that feud had the rock main event in the back ground of it lol. Like while fueding with cena we all knew the end game was the rock/. As a matter of fact when punk went on his streak of holding the title he fought cena one more time during that. Cena had 4 matches with orton during that span like go sit down somewhere lol.
The Goat himself has finally reviewed this rivarly. I think I'm gonna faint!
Underrated opinion: These two should've main evented Wrestlemania 29, it would've been one of the most satisfying ends to a feud of that era.
Absolutely. This should have been the main event of that Wrestlemania without question. Or at the very least, make it a Cena-Punk-Rock triple threat. Punk had earned that match, and instead he became the last guy to have to carry an aging Undertaker before Brock ended the streak. If they had just given Punk his due, he would have never left.
He should’ve definitely be included in that main event, that Wm 29 main event should’ve been a triple threat match
True that. That Raw match should've happened at Wrestlemania 29. Cena winning and ending Punk's title reign and finally beating him would've been satisfying
@@Jeff_Prycecarry 😂stop the cap
@rochitgurung9090 CM Punk did carry that match, Undertaker should've already retired by then. He didn't have what it took to have a 5 star match at that point.
This is the feud that brought me back into Wrestling. That match at Money in the Bank was magical.
Same! I was a lapsed wrestling fan until I saw the CZcams video of Punk's pipebomb.
Punk saved WWE in 2011
It's crazy that it's been almost 10 years since their feud and the Summer of Punk as a whole. I was a long time Cena fan, but once I saw Punk during his ECW days, he quickly become one of my favorite wrestlers even to this day.
I used to like him, but he started the whole smark movement
@@Testingthisnameit's aew's fault
It’s kinda funny that cena Attacked Punk just because Punk said that Cena was the New York Yankees
The most underrated comeback I must say looking back.
And it worked so well for the feud lol.
Lol that’s mad disrespectful I wish a mf would call me the New York Yankees but seriously tho the real reason he punched him because John saw the truth in what punk said and he also disrespected his hometown and basically everything he stood for. Then again who wouldn’t punch cm punk in his smug ass mouth 😂
It’s sacrilegious to utter those words to a Bostonian
Isn't that a compliment since the Yankees always win championships
@@Bsfnelz20 cenas a red Sox fan since he’s from Massachusetts so that a big insult
Punk’s promos from around that time hold up so well in this day and age.
Im still upset about ray losing the title after wat he said about eddie coming home they ruined such a perfect thing for ray imo
vince dropped the ball by making him comeback like a week after. shouldve jus moved on so we “forget” that hes gone. n that return wouldve been gold
Five star match at Money in the bank best match of the decade in my opinion this match had everything that wrestling matches are missing nowadays I love this rivalry
CM Punk was on GOD level during his 2011-2014 run.
HE was cooking everyone on the mic, including the likes of John cena rock and hhh
It's a shame we never got that punk vs cena vs rock main event at wrestlemania 29.
That would've been legendary
In my opinion, no because CENA vs rock 2 should have never happened, at least not at wrestlemania
It was special cause it was “once in a life time”
And it all started when cena spill his soda and phone on the September 26, 2010 episode of raw
Send me a clip or vid of that
This feud was awesome. Made my favorite match of all time happen (Punk vs Cena MITB). Punk is for sure one of Cena’s best rivals.
They're the perfect pairing. Even their weakest matches were great.
I was a 12 or 13 year old kid when this happened. Big Cena fan at the time from my childhood. Became a Punk fan during this feud and it opened my eyes not only to just be a fan of more than the “clean cut” faces, but also all types of wrestling, first through ROH, and then through all kinds of indie wrestling! This feud felt perfectly made for me, as I transitioned from being a young wholesome kid, into a still young, slightly edgier teenager.
I remembered people complaining that R-Truth should have beaten Cena at Capital Punishment that year but if that would have happened, the whole Cm Punk storyline wouldn't have worked at all.
I do think that Truth should've won it but like you said, The CM Punk story wouldn't work.
I think they should’ve treated the Awesome Truth as credible threats to the world title instead of getting destroyed by Rock and Cena. That way Summer of Punk still happens but during Punks Title reign he has more threats to the title.
@@wrestlingspremier really man who shall not be named?😂man just say his goddamn name wwe are not watching you there not gonna take your vedio down
Controversial opinion: John Cena/CM Punk’s best match ever against each other was on an episode of RAW where I think the winner would face The Rock at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship
Both have great chemistry with each other and CM Punk even hit a piledriver (which I think was banned at the time) which fit in well with his rebel character 😃😃😃
I'll never forget watching that match for the first time. Magical stuff.
A lot have said that their match should have taken place at Wrestlemania that year after their performance. I personally would have preferred a triple threat match where Cena would win by pinning The Rock redeeming himself from the previous year.
Yeah they should've went with the Triple Threat. But I guess they feared it wouldn't draw as well as a singles match.
I stopped watching wrestling from 2009-2013, watching WWE again I hated almost everything I saw at that time, but that match really made me remember why I grew up loving it so much in the first place
Ah the infamous piledriver match
The only thing that I am disappointed by is that they never headlined WrestleMania with this feud. The only time I remotely cared about Cena is when he was paired with Punk. They brought out the best in each other.
The best Feud from 2011 all the way up to 2013
Yes and after that daniel bryan storyline

Damn, two straight videos on stuff I actually regret missing from not watching WWE from 2009-2013
The best feud of 2011 next to Christian vs Orton.
Christian and Orton feud is very slept on
This was the best storyline of 2011 ...orton vs christian is second best to it
It's crazy how even in 2011,one of the big dub's worst years it had 2 of it's best feuds lol
This is my first time checking out one of your videos. This was a great overview of their rival. Keep up the great work. I will be checking out some of your other videos as well. 👍🏽
Finally i have been waiting for this since last year
Thank god I’ve been waiting for this vid
Appreciate the vid. Found it while re watching Punks return.
these are the kind of videos i am greatful for
I’m pretty sure Punk responded to Miz the way he did because Mike continually trash talked Punk for 5+ years after he left. I guess that Backstage think was the final straw for Punk.
Plus Punk never really respected Miz. He administered as much back in 2011, he told Miz straight up that they were probably never going to get along. It’s that reality show thing, I think. Punk came up the hard way busting his ass in the independent scene, while Miz was some dude on “The Real World” who just came in to WWE on a whim. And he wrestles a softer style than Punk, so that probably doesn’t sit well with Punk.
@@Jeff_Pryce Tbf, the miz busted his ass too. He was bullied in the locker room by Benoit, jbl etc and had to change in the toilets for months. It took him years to earn the respect of his peers and the fans. Not to mention if wrestling soft means the miz continues to wrestle for 10+ years without injury, then it's a smart decision. .
@@JungleBunkRootsMusic2022 wait Miz used to get bullied?
@@mortalgame6583 yeah
@@mortalgame6583 i mean yeah. Not only was (and somewhat still) bullying common for new guys but Miz was a reality show guy who was seen as soft. Miz didn’t get respect until he went off on Daniel Bryan for calling him a coward (Bryan later stated he and Miz had scripted for Bryan to slap Miz but Bryan instead left the room to give him his moment)
Their MITB match was amazing and the SS match is one of my favourites alongside Chris Benoit vs Randy Orton at SS 2004
When there were weekly celebrity GMs, Cena debuted his orange shirt and summerslam replaced the sharp "S" into stars I knew it wasn't the WWE I knew anymore.
the first time i see one of your videos . sub!!
True fans, no matter what era you are from, know that this feud and everyone involved was just pure down right satisfying entertainment
This feud is what brought me back to watching wrestling in 2011
Damn crazy to think it’s about to be 10 years since this rivalry I was 10 at the time time flies
We need Punk back and we need that Punk vs. Cena match at WrestleMania that we didn't get.
never gonna happen ever...not in this era of wwe anyway...
I started watching wrestling in 2005 when I was 3 stopped in mid 2009 this feud brought me back to wrestling lol
I stopped watching wrestling from 2009-2013, I don't regret it, but I would have liked to see this.
I stopped watching wrestling that day cm punk beat Jeff hardy in that steel cage match I was heart broken
15:30 i’m one of the few people who love the spinner belt but this would’ve been a perfect time to introduce a new WWE title
Well done 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lemme say this cm punk really could’ve started another boom period in wrestling if management had booked the summer of punk
His feud with Brock Lesnar was amazing, he just needed a new opponent of Brock's level after that like Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns but Vince booked him with Curtis Axel which was very stupid move
Brooo you gotta do that ROH Summer of Punk video eventually!!!!
“It’s the song from SanAndreas” 😂 I thought the same thing
They should have let Rey hold the title until summerslam then do all the same stuff at night of champions. Imagine having Punk walk out at summerslam instead of Raw... He could've still been doing indie tours and other things.... An undisputed championship match at night of champions? Writes itself imo. And it would have been nice to give Rey a bit of shine with the belt. Could've still done all the same stuff and stretched this story out more. But they blew their load early.
but why would wwe let a guy who’s red hot leave for a month? I’m also assuming WWE would’ve already signed CM Punk’s extension but allowed him to go to RoH but still Vince is protective of the WWE brand for a reason
This is probably is the GREATEST FUED OF ALL TIME
Man this Fued could Had Main evented WRESTLEMAINA
Man Good matches and promos
Both men brought the best out of each other 🔥
LMFAO 😆🤣😂😆🤣😂
@@austin6735 what's so Funny 🤔
"Fine speech" 😅😂
Bcoz of punk promo , I came back to watch wrestling again
They could've got so much mileage with the CM Punk/John Cena feud but nope. We just can't have nice things.
What are you on about? Another case of WWE fans complaining all the time I guess, typical.
Great video 👍 can you make the rivalry of JBL VS Eddie Guerrero???
Almost at 60k subscribers
Found the “fine speech” compilation 😂 hilarious
This rivalry was so damn amazing.
I'm begging you to do a 2011-2013 bobby roode tna run
Legendary rivalry.
Here before it blew up
One of my all time favorite feuds
Love this feud
Please do some aew stories I would love to see that in your video style
Do a video on Edge last title run before retirement
I swear that Cena and Punk could’ve been the Austin/Rock of the PG Era, the opportunity was really right there!
I will never be tired to say this, but CM Punk got the best of John Cena in every single aspect. That's what makes you the best rival. Not AJ Styles, not Edge... obviously I am not saying that rivalries are not important
Not in the long run. John Cena is top5 wrestlers of all time
@@OVO-Adolf you mean top 5 sports entertainer
Video Idea: Ricochet’s days in NXT.
Yo could you please do a vid on the jeff hardy heel run from TNA in 2010
CM Punk and John Cena iconic rivals, their rivalry was so memorable, I will never forget the summer of 2011, the epic WWE championship match at Money in the Bank in Chicago is my all time favorite wrestling match, whenever they wrestled they had good matches, brought the best out of each other, they were polar opposites, one was the face of the company, the other was a outspoken rebel.
At the start of 2023 I played the WWE2K15 showcase mode highlighting their rivalry and it felt like a trip down memory lane ❤
July 15th is my birthday how is that iconic birthday 😂❤
Is no one gonna talk about the fact that superkick studios and wrestling premier talked about the same thing and uploaded around the same time ?
John Cena vs CM Punk was Basically WWE's version of Batman vs Joker
This feud was the time that wrestling changed in 2011
I play 2K15 just to relive this rivalry and put these 2 against each other at a mania
The Summer of Punk was something special 💪💯
One of my favorite feud
Imagine having a wrestlemania match with The Undertaker and feeling like you never got a wrestlemania moment
Kofis rise to the title
The feud itself was really, really great though the ending sucked and Punk lost to HHH/Kliq because of course even though HHH I think was no longer a full-time wrestler
i don't think it was that great tho. c.m. wasn't a main event guy, but kept getting pushed there
@@jctslice wasn't a main event? the dude made noise in the wrestling world again when it was his time that even the likes of stone cold praised him for such a promo. if that wasn't main event material, idk what is.
You knooooooow, im not sure how long it'd be, but I don't see many people talking about the walk out.
WWE dropped the ball with CM Punk.
That Money in the Bank title match between CM Punk and John Cena in 2011 could have easily headlined Wrestlemania.
Finally yo
Punk Truly Outclassed Cena In Wrestling And Promos Chicagos Best ☝️
Before I typed this in I was wondering if any CZcamsr thought to do this video
Best thing to happen in PG Era, probably saved wwe in 2011-2012
Wwe 2k15 showcase mode 🔥🔥
That and 16 were the only good showcases on Xbox one and ps4
Punk’s character was such a product of the early to mid 2000’s so it only made sense that he was the last champion to rock the spinning edge belt
15:32 That was my reaction as well lol
Plzzzzz make the summer of punk in ring of honor, plzz
Yeah make a ROH summer of Punk
In 2011 i switched my hair style to punk's and it looked quite cool on me.
I don’t even believe their MITB match is their best showing just how great all their matches were together
Please make a video on Cm punks final run in RoH
This would've been the best time to change belts
I played thru this storyline on the WWE games and read up on this whole fued and i hate that i got into wrestling after this story cuz I never to got to experience it
But the tweet he sent to the miz was pretty funny
Who else remember this from 2k15
Showcase mode was soooo good
Hustle loyalty and disrespect showcase
Not to be that guy but super kick studios dropped this video like 6 hours ago 😭
I’m glad Punk pointed out how Vince surrounds himself with yes men. Vince fails to realize that he’s his own worst enemy
22:45 why didn’t you say Chris Benoit?
This feud>Cena v. Orton
Imo Cena's best rival is CM Punk, not Orton, Cena-Orton feud was overrared. This feud actually improved Cena in ring ability where a WWE trained wrestler started to embrace indie styled wrestling.
you must be young lol EDGE and either hhh/angle were FAR better rivals for cena
@@jctslice Edge was great but his best rival was Undertaker, HHH best rival will always gonna be HBK, Angle best rival was Brock
While Cena's feud with them was good but none compared to this, you have great story(where this blurred the line between a face and a heel) with great matches (first 5 WWE star match since the Bret Hart days).
Funny how you mentioned em and called me young, cause Cena's wrestling ability on that RE era where nowhere near what he was in Punk-Cena rivalry. None of you spend the time watching back RE era Cena, all y'all have is nostalgic, he was awful in the ring. his best feud in those period imo was not even those name you mentioned, it was against HBK.
@@Sendoh32 Pretry much all they needs to be said.
I liked the Cena/Edge matches as well as the Cena/Angle matches which the latter really helped John grow as a wrestler.
But they had better rivals.
@@Sendoh32 idk bro... that edge/cena rivalry was one of the best ones of the 2000s. hhh/hbk has LENGTHY AF history actually, so agreed. angle was so damn dominant that he could make ANYONE look good. i lowkey wanted angle and Jericho to become more of a rivalry
@@NWOWCW4Life1 edge was who brought out cena's TRUE prime. edge made him bring it all emotionally, physically, and mentally
I was 14 in 2011 I believe Cm punk was actually leaving not a storyline due to the way wwe management had been treating him since he been there but three years later in 2014 he left permanently.
I don't watch wrestling religiously like I use to. If it wasn't for CM Punk, I would have turned out sooner. IMO, he was the last interesting thing that was enough to keep me watching.
Gargano and Ciampa next...........right?............please?? :)
