This feud was almost one sided from a result standpoint. That said, I loved seeing Christian in the main event scene, he was a great rival to Orton and contributed to 2011 being one of his best years. What did you think of this feud?
The Feud Was awesome. It was the first feud i watched when i got into WWE. Im glad that Orton and Christian convinced Vince to let the Feud keep going until Summerslam

Definitely one of Christian's best years for sure. Work rate, character work helped Randy Orton carry that feud and it never got boring. Man, they made the World Heavyweight Championship important. Feuds like this don't come too often.

You know Christian has been in the main event scene before, he was literally upper midcarder to main eventer.
Randy vs Christian & Cena vs Punk in 2011 was what brought me back to WWE.
This feud is what started off the most underrated year of smackdown ever. I was surprisingly more into this feud than the punk cena one when I was a kid watching it live, the title was at stake not just between these two I mean sheamus and henry both made it into the main event spotlight because of this feud and how they felt it was their time. 2011 was just a special time to be a wwe fan I sure do miss it.
Sheamus was such a underrated part of the world tittle picture in this era
This was such an enjoyable feud. After Edge’s sudden retirement, Christian was perfect to continue his legacy and Randy was a perfect opponent for him, making his life hell and this rivalry definitely was a high point of 2011. Very nostalgic.👍😊
I thought this storyline was awful. Christian immediately put Orton over instead of holding the belt for awhile and then they just buried him left and right.
@@jakethomas_419 Seth lost to Cody 3 times already this year does this make Seth “buried”? Hell no, same in here with Christian sure almost a lot of ppl didn’t like that he lost too soon after 2 days of winning the title but it led to this great rivalry which proved that Christian is actually a great main eventer in the WWE.

@@incognitoking9704 But the difference is obvious between how WWE showcases Seth Rollins compared to Christian. WWE actually did put stock on Seth Rollins in their main shows with ending the Shield, staying in main events for years and competing and beating top superstars like Roman Reigns, John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Seth Rollins was one of WWE's chosen ones, always having some sort of program even if he's not in main events or semi-main events. As long as he has a storyline, it's nearly impossible for Seth Rollins to be buried almost like how John Cena can get squashed by Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker and still retain credibility. But for Christian, WWE has consistently been seemingly trepidatious with him throughout the years where they prematurely ended his feud with Cena in 2005, gave Christian ECW which we know was a bastardized C-show already on life support, had no actual storyline for him in 2010, finally gave him a world title WWE acknowledges AFTER Edge retired, immediately lost it in 2 days, won it back by DQ, and lost nearly every single match against Orton and Sheamus in their feuds. When Christian had to retire, it was only a brief mention on commentary. No big deal, no tribute or anything. WWE literally did not care for Christian half as much as they do for Seth Rollins.

When I was a kid Christian was my and still is my favorite wrestler. When he finally won the world heavyweight championship I was on top of the world. When he lost it so soon to Randy I legitimately felt crushed and stopped watching WWE for awhile shortly afterwards. This video brought back many memories. Thanks man

I’m sorry but this feud made me hate Orton for a short period of time as a kid. He was Superman Cena but on Smackdown. This feud made Christian look so weak in the long run and he didn’t get at least one pinfall victory over Orton.
It made Christian look smart and he pinned Orton cleanly many times on smack down so try again

Strangely i remember this because of the matches and for christian being the only man to win the WOH champion in DQ which to this day is still nuts. For me best feud of 2011 imo

@Steven Cook triple h won because the rules of an iron man match are to have more falls than your opponent, while normally a dq wouldn’t allow the title to change hands but because he was dq’d at the end rock wasn’t able to get another fall so he lost by one less fall.
Man Christian was my favorite when I first started watching WWE. He's the reason why I started watching TNA.

What’s crazy is that I just rewatched smackdown from 2011 and the episodes I watched was where Christian turned heel and that’s where the rivalry hit it’s climax

Ive absolutely love this feud. I remember one of the 2k’s they made a DLC for this story line and I got it right away
In my opinion, this was the 2nd biggest storyline of 2011 behind the Summer of Punk. I do wish Christian had a lengthy run with the World Heavyweight Championship.

While John Cena vs. CM Punk was an amazing feud with great matches, I honestly preferred this feud and its matches. It was my fave feud from 2011 and it deserves to be celebrated as much as Cena vs. Punk so thanks for putting this video out. Amazing video!

This is my favorite feud of all time as this feud was starting the same time I started watching the WWE again. This feud also had one of my favorite segments on Raw, the one after Capitol Punishment, along with the 6-man Tag Team Match. Their Smackdown Steel Cage match is one of my favorite.
In my opinion, 2011 was also Randy Orton's year. From the feud with the New Nexus/CM Punk that focused on the Punt, to this, to another underrated feud with Wade Barret (loved the finish of their match in TLC, and the RKO on the car). Oh and the Christmas match with David Otunga had the iconic "Ho ho ho"
I was more excited for their match in SS than Punk vs Cena. I was a kid then so I didn't quite understand the lead up to Punk v Cena in MITB, but it did got me hooked on it after seeing Punk leave with the title xD

This was the best feud in 2011. Cena and Punk had the best match in 2011 but Randy and Christian had the better feud. I really enjoyed their matches.

The height of Christian Cages career and one of the best people to put Randy over as a face. Some of the best matches I have ever seen! To this day I still go back and watch them from time to time.
It's a shame how Christian never gets enough push in WWE. His promo skills great and I always enjoyed him.

I was a british kid in 2011, so I could only watch SmackDown. In hindsight, I'm so glad I started watching when I did because 2011 SmackDown was actually really good which you can't say about every year of smackdown around the time.

I remember being pissed that Orton beat Christian. That Over the Limit match was one of my fav matches at the time, everybody was cheering for Christian to reclaim the title.
If I were to book Christian in 2011, I would have wanted him to not turn heel, but just more savage, going against other heels and being more brutal. Have him fight people like Khali, Sheamus, Barrett, with Randy losing to Mark Henry at Night of Champions
Mark Henry then defends the title as usual, but he loses the championship to Christian instead of Big Show at TLC.
Christian then gets attacked by Mark Henry, cash-in from Bryan, and Daniel feuds with Christian until Elimination Chamber

Their match at Over The Limit is one of the best title-bouts and one of the best matches I’ve ever seen in pro-wrestling/sports entertainment. Not a single dull moment, both of them were digging deep into their inventory, the crowd was hot, no outside interference bullshit, didn’t spam finishers, and the ending came out of nowhere, yet still in a way it made perfect sense.
Christian was screwed over big time by Vince and the creative-team at the time. They turned him into a glorified midcarder who Jobbed when it mattered, even though he was easily a main-eventer 😢

Christian and his fued with Randy Orton was unforgettable. Christian stepping in to replace the then retired Edge as the World Heavyweight Champion only to lose it to Orton 5 days later after beating Del Rio for it. It was a great heel run for Christian to win back the title from Orton. WWE in 2011 was underrated to be honest, the rise of CM Punk, Zac Ryder, Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry to Sheamus getting over with the fans for his best run in 2012.

I gotta say this watching this feud in real time it was the one of the best feuds in 2011 next to Punk/Cena in terms of in ring it’s better then Punk/Cena in terms of in ring match performance. Randy being at the peak of his run 2009-2011 imo is prime Randy and Christian is one of the best workers. Watching that SD after Extreme Rules live with my mom was an incredible match and the results was shocking.
