Comedy Central is the reason Chappelle's Show ended, they wouldn't give him a cut of the dvd sales for his own show which at the time were the highest gross sales for a tv show.
voyager40 I’m pretty sure it was more to do with them trying to take some creative control over his show when it became a hit.
When he first started it, CC let him do whatever he wanted since they didn’t really care. Once it became a HUGE hit, they started meddling and “suggesting” a few things here and there he should do on the show. Also things he shouldn’t. When they offered him the $50 million dollar deal it also came with the understanding that CC would be a little more hands on with their new “golden goose”.

He didn’t want to be a puppet to the Hollywood system, so he bounced.
Dave chapelle admitted that he felt that they were telling him how to make jokes rather than allowing him. He said they offered him 50 million for season 3, he joked about it recently saying “you’d think my wife would be proud of me for doing what I wanted, but she was more angry that I turned down 50 million” (I’m paraphrasing)
