They didn't even ship the glowing bar UI to all other phones yet, it's ridiculous how that small visual thing is still exclusive to Pixel phones.

I think Bixby isnt meant to be a traditional voice assistant, but a built in automation bot that lets you manipulate the phone the way you like, not extracting information from the internet.

Bixby is good at controlling the phone functionality itself not necessarily Internet based commands. Google assistant already exist for that.

The thing I love most about my Google Assistant is that it has all the "quirkiness" and easter eggs that we became used to with Google. For example, one night when I asked her to set an alarm she responded "sure, hey..next time try asking me about a lego alarm" so I was curious and asked for a lego alarm, the next morning I was woken up like a citizen of Lego City with that main characters voice and got the morning breaking news what happened in Lego City, lmao

This is one of the only good comparisons I've seen, as other videos were fundamentally flawed. Such as asking the same question multiple times but worded differently. You actually touched on context awareness, which I think is one of the more important features to test. Well done!
Not only do I prefer Google Assistant, but I prefer it's UI over Siri. Google's UI looks so much cleaner and much more appealing to the eye.

Bixby is used for phone command. I honestly never used Google Assistant, but I'm so dependent to my Bixby and Bixby routine. It makes my life easier to customize all the settings on my phone.
Huh, I'll have to try that out sometime out of curiosity. Honestly I mainly use Google assistant for everything. I love Google assistant routines lol. I recommend you try them out if that's the only reason your attached to Bixby.

The thing is
Bixby is built for in phone commands means phone actions and all that stuff and at the same time G Assistant in Galaxy provides web assistance.
If it's assistant, Google doesn't have a 2nd. It's google & everyone else.
Siri is pretty close, since all computation is on device. If Siri was truly cloud-server based like Google's Assistant, it could very well be a more serious contender.
All in all, Google's Assistant is objectively better at day-to-day use, but in exchange for less privacy and more information collection on you by Google, albeit they use it do improve their products. Siri is better if you're pseudo-privacy aware.

There’s a specific way to make Siri obey your commands. Try For Eg: “Send a WhatsApp message to my other number” etc.

Then it shouldn't count, because you are telling it a command. An assistant should be able to understand you, not wait for specific commands like a program.

Bixby works best for system apps imo
Imo we need virtual assistants to do actions that require a lot of steps if we did them manually, like setting location based reminders, ask for information instead of typing the search query and so on but, changing settings is easier to do manually.

In all fairness, Bixby excells at phone specific commands and string of commands specific to the phone.
But the question is who wants to change the device settings using voice while you can do it in 2 seconds, voice assistant is to make complicated tasks easier, like setting location based reminders or searching for something without typing the search query.
@@IDTR I use Bixby a lot. Daily. Yes, I use Bixby to change settings on my phone because it's troublesome to change it everything depending on where I am. The phone's setting will change automatically depends on the time and my location or my wifi connection.
Some people would not be bothered by such settings and only have 1 setting for the rest of their years with that phone. But not me. At night, when I'm about to go to sleep, Bixby would silent my phone automatically, I don't need to do it manually every single time. 🙃

This is a legitimate question: would it be possible for Samsung to work with Google to make the Google assistant work with the phone and it’s settings the way Bixby does?
Kind of how Samsung puts a skin over android, but it’s still android.
I would think Samsung could do so much better if, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, they could build onto the wheel that Google made.
You can just use Google Assistant on Samsung phones. I've never used Bixby on my S10+ or S21 Ultra. Assistant works perfectly fine.
@@moiznahmad Well, there’s many things Bixby can do with your phone directly that Google assistant can’t. It would be great to see those integrated into one assistant on Samsung phones without having to choose between two.
Samsung literally have their own version of every native Android app, it's annoying to do this, they better focus on making their own OS if they want to use their own apps, they have a browser, Samsung pay, Samsung Pass, Gallery, Phones, messages and soooo on. That makes me confused and my data is saved in two different apps, if you saved all your passwords and history in Samsung apps anytime you switch to a non- Samsung phone you won't be able to transfer this data
Tried it myself and Biixby did convert currency and showed me the best restaurant (didn't work for my city, I tried Paris). I asked both Bixby and Google Assistant to set my screen timeout to 2 minutes and only Bixby was able to do it. Bixby is good at certain things.

If you want to translate phrases just say the phrase followed by the language you want for example say "how r u today in spanish" and both will give you the answer but if you want a realtime translation only Siri has that option

even though bixby is not that good, it can change device settings in a very detailed command that google assistant can't do, but overall G. Assistant wins for sure.

I think because Apple is so stringent about privacy and refuses to store any user data, it's hindering Siri's development.

Unfortunately, Google Assistant is not nearly as smart in other languages than English. I know it's complicated to locate it properly to so many languages, but I really wish Google would put more effort into this. In my case it's German. I barely use the assistant because it just fails so often.
