Deffo heaven. From a time I could relate to the game and loved it. Shame that's no more.

It makes a nice change to see that of all the teams from those days, none of them have sponsors on their shirts that are either gambling companies or payday loan sharks.

Thanks for uploading this show. As an Ipswich fan, I’d seen the goals from that match, but always wondered how they played out in the context of the game as a whole. Must have been some hearts in Ipswich mouths at the end with those free kicks given that Dalglish often scored spectacular goals against us and had won the previous season’s Anfield fixture between the two sides with a free-kick from pretty much the same spot.
Ipswich would go on to finish 12th and nine days after this game became the last side in nearly 30 years to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford after trailing at half time.

That fucking match at OT was a nightmare. fair play to your lot for winning, but I've always been really pissed off at the way United played.

I’ve only read about that game. You pounded us in the first half but only got one goal. D’Avray equalised early in the second half. More United pressure and then Alan Sunderland bundles in the winner off his groin. A very Ipswich way of doing things. I’m astonished that that record is still standing after 35 years.

@@kokamoa That record is the one good remnant of that match. There was footage of it on the net, but it was lost when Getty nought out ITN's archives.

Back in the day, when highlights were proper highlights and you actually got to view a lot of the game, unlike now a days, 2 minutes of highlights followed by 10 minutes of waffle telling you what you have already seen and worked out yourself anyways.
