    Christ, what Hoddle does with five minutes to go was staggering, real Brazil 82 stuff. Best player I have ever seen in English football

      Hoddle was pure genius & lives amongst the greats of world football. Cruyff gave him his shirt in 1984 after Spurs beat Ajax 4-1 on the way to winning the UEFA cup and called him the New Master.

    There were thousands extra at QPR that day because of matches called off elsewhere in london 27,000 I think

      distantvoices I remember the nets at the goodison semi final, bloody hell that was some wind blowing that day!! I always wondered why the European super cup game against juventus was played in the middle of January?? Mind you saying that when we won it at United we played red star Belgrade in November!! Very strange.

      @@mrkipling2201 United had home advantage in that one, with no away leg presumably because of the recently started Yugoslav civil war. Liverpool had "away disadvantage" for the second successive European final!
