    I agree with Jess, the way Hamilton lives his life is great for the sport. If it wasn’t for him I would’ve never discovered F1. I’m from the US where almost no one knows or cares about F1 and it’s been extremely refreshing to discover a sport and watch one of the greatest drivers of all time race. Shout out to any other F1 fans from the US!

    It's not over yet but Hamilton is pretty much already deserving of the championship. I feel that unless Vettel goes 2013 mode and wins every race remaining he doesn't deserve this championship. For him to win I think Hamilton needs mechanical failures which isn't how I want the championship to be decided.

    • @hamzterix
      @hamzterix Před 5 lety +4

      Well Lewis "didn't deserve" that win in Germany. Cutting the pit lane, on the grass and across the track. What a Joke FIA is along with Pro-Lewis who tends to forget any mistake or luck that he gets.
      In 2008 Massa deserved the title. IMO Massa is 2008 WDC. Glock gifted Lewis with that last turn position swap.
      That's how F1 worked for that last 50 years. Bad luck, good luck, cheats, mechanical failure, team orders.

    Comparing drivers is a very difficult thing to do. Logic doesn't always work in these situations, for example 'Ricciardo beat Vettel in 2014, and Vettel is very even with Hamilton in somewhat equal cars, which means Ricciardo must be world class'. Sometimes you don't gel with your car, sometimes you don't get in the zone for the entire season or a regulation change won't suit you. Without a spec series remaining unchanged for half a century, we will never know who the GOAT is... and even then, it would be disputed. I personally think Schumacher is the third greatest of all time behind Senna and Lewis. But almost everyone will disagree with me.

    I was also a big Damon Hill fan and a Montoya fan, so was never into Schumi, but in the LH vs MS debate; I have to go with Schumi.
    LH burst onto the scene in a race-winning car, but threw away the Championship in his first season, losing a 17-point advantage in two races and handing the Drivers' title to a rival team. He then moved to a Mercedes team who fortuitously found an edge in the turbo-hybrid era.
    MS served his apprenticeship in lower and midfield teams before winning two seasons in a Benetton, and then moved to one of the worst Ferrari outfits in a generation, and his feedback helped make that a Championship-winning car.
    I appreciate that there was much more testing allowed in the Schumacher era, but that alone surely makes him the GOAT?

    In the next podcast do you think you could talk about American drivers in F1 and why they’re not there? Specially why Haas, the only american F1 team, refuses to sign any talented and qualified american drivers like Josef Newgarden from the IndyCar Series?

    I think sirotkins race was overrated considering the fact that bottas couldn't even stay within 1 second of hulkenberg while lapping him. He had some fine moments but all things considered we could stick Matt into a f1 car and have him drive around Singapore and watch a train of cars form

    Sorry Jess but Vettel was 4 seconds behind Lewis when Vettel pitted, the Ultra took 2 laps to warm up so how was Seb going to make up the 4 seconds even without getting past the team mate assassin.
    Perez also got 3 points on his licence bringing it too 9.
