  • Should you buy the new Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 or is it too many compromises? Given the problems with the original Engwe Engine Pro do the risks outweigh the upgrades?

Your video is the first video i found that talks about a weak frame and other major problems with Engwe bikes. On the other hand, i find lots of videos about the bike that are actually positive reviews. If the bike is so bad, how come these videos are not poppin up when searching for Engwe engine pro? Just a tought...

They’re paid reviews by “influencers”. This explains how it works.

It’s also the way I SEO my videos.

Had my Engwe X a few days and i am very happy with it, I am aware it is so very easy to turn the speed limiter off taking the speed to over 30mph this is obviously a very strong temptation but along with the double in performance it puts everything else under increased stress more so if you ride it like a off roader .
It is a bike that retails for less than £1000 and certainly is no lightweight { 32kg } kerbside but this helps when travelling over 15 mph [ downhill } on public roads feeling very stable and smooth

Well. This is a completely different bike. Doesn’t have the same torque running through it. The reason why Engwe doesn’t actually use a 250w motor in the X is because if it was actually 250w they’d lose sales.
Anyway, thank you for your view of the X, let me know how it goes when you e put a 1000 miles on it. 👍🏻

i have an engwe engine pro , have around 500miles on it and had the following issues: peddel threading wasn't galvenised & fell out from the crank arm ( both needed replacing , rear fender fell off while going 25mph ( realised quickly but was scarey) , a few screws in the suspension have tried to escape after a daily commute, and the rear inner tube punctured.. this bike has needed constant attention to be kept in working order

I have an Engwe Pro 2. Hard tail bought it used (45 miles only) I’ve covered around 1000 miles on it ..tarmac and occasional sports fields use …up to this point it’s been almost faultless other than power cutting out now and again…that turned out to be very slight movement in the battery housing…a small rubber patch placed under the battery in front of the ignition has sorted that ( hopefully).. I’m thinking mine must be early bike.. are there any tell tale signs to look out for re: the frame snapping.ive checked mine thoroughly..it looks as good as the day I bought it .only off roading is golf course and bridal or tow path use ( no stump jumping 😆).

The black Engine Pro in the video was mine … looked fine up until the frame decided it wanted to be in two parts. Stress fractures are pretty much undetectable by the human eye so unless you have some very expensive aerospace kit at home you’re in the same boat as the rest of us I’m afraid.

Different frame buddy. Far less hassle with that model.

I will get mine in a few days, I am 80kg and not planning on going over 30 kmph. I bought it because it's cheap, so I expect little of it, just to have some fun. But I would not buy this bike to go top speed. Before I had a unimoke for 4 years I trusted it with my life, never had 1 tiny problem in 4 years, but it got stolen :(

If you want good warranty you need to buy a big brand like trek, giant, haibike, specialized ect. There warrantys are great. With service centers all over the UK. They are expensive but they have got your back when it fails.
