    There are enough empty shops in town centres or shopping centres. The councils could offer pensioners jobs looking after secure bike parking facilities, for a small parking charge. Would i use such a facility? Dam right i would at the moment i don't use my bike to go shopping in town. I have a Cyrusher ovia bike and they're not a cheap bike to replace, bikes are easy targets for thieves. I hope councils across the country look into using empty shops in town centres and convert them into secure bike parking facilities with small parking fees to cover the costs of running them.

      It is a good idea in principle, using vacant outlets as in town cycle parking hot-spots , with onsite supervision , although leaseholders of these outlets would be looking for long-term clients. Then, you have to factor in fire risk due to ebike storage and theft risk by criminal gangs Recall a incident where a cycle store had ever diterant alarms, cameras, window shutters , and lost £200,000 worth of bikes and cycle gear overnight Had taken the owner seven months to get a insurance pay out .

    A torque sensor and cadence sensor that's switchable is a awesome idea and several people i would bet would really make use of this valuable feature. They also need to make them more waterproof as my other half rode his to work and it started raining halfway there and water got in the controller box and shorted out the electrical system. Its fixed now but it took over a month with numerous emails photos and videos before two new controllers were sent out. All your ideas are really well worth Engwe taking up as that will certainly make their company future proof and way ahead of other Chinese companies. The Government don't want ebikes to progress and more people start using them as that will mean they lose money from taxes that they could waste elsewhere and not on roads and cycling infrastructure. The police certainly need more training and be more understanding as at the moment they don't have a clue. Especially when they stop an ebike that has no throttle a 250 watt motor and is used for daily exercise and shopping by a local pensioner doing absolutely nothing wrong. They have even pulled over a normal non motorised cycle because they were convinced it was an ebike 😂

  • @ianewen6339
    @ianewen6339 Před 2 dny

    It's a fantastic wishlist, that many riders would like to see built into any future production line ebike. Unfortunately, sourcing and trialling different components is a costly exercise. Design changes and prototypes can hold up production runs, leading to missed order shipping dates , which hurt end of month income sales. I think any upgrades done, if they wish to choose , will be easy low cost upgrades. Like the Uk government's thoughts on ebike change , manufacturers i dont think are pushing for any consumer tools to get around any EU or UK laws

    yep, all fantastic points and upgrades. It would be worth paying that extra to get those changes/upgrades for sure. Regards Engwe support, I asked them if they could send me some numbers for the important torque values for bolts/axle nuts/etc for my bro's new Engine Pro 2.0. Whilst they did reply quickly, it was not much use sadly. First they sent me the 75N/m value for the motor torque. Then when I went back to them explaining it in basic English, I got... "engwe uk, We are sorry we are unable to provide the document with the torque values for the bolts on the bike you mentioned.". It might be an idea for a vid :) cheers !

    Glad you've tried this and had success. My bike is restricted to 15.5mph and I've found that if I end up ghost pedaling at the top speed, I can get a similar effect to what you're describing by knocking the power down from 5 to 4 or 3. It forces you to put more effort in in order to maintain the top speed, and invariably means you need to slow down with the pedalling, perhaps a little slower than 15.5mph,, and would save battery power. Of course this is different for bikes that are not speed restricted, as the higher gearing means you have more of that top speed accessable to you with that higher gearing.

I’m 60 and I’ve done the speed thing but it was just a lovely ride out. There are upsides even on restricted e-bikes, that revolution at the chainring giving more rear revolutions at the rear wheel still stands especially at the top speed limit of 15.5 mph.

Over the last few years pain and fatigue have just ruined me and my stamina. I used to keep fit climbing Scotlands mountains. I don't drive the car now, and I haven't been on my motorbike this year, so the only way to get some independence back was to get an ebike. I bought the engwe ep-2 pro combo. One for me and one for my wife. 😁 I did 20 miles today purely ghost pedaling and just going up the assist levels when I felt my legs were taking some of the strain. I know that a 750w e bike is illegal in the UK, but if the cops think they're gonna take it from me then they can go and suck on a bag of dicks! 🖕🤣

    I never had ghost pedaling on my Ariel Rider Kepler. Up to 37 mph I can easily keep up pedaling cadence. 11-34 tooth 52 front crank.

    very interesting and looking forward to the vid showing the mods, cheers for the links. We just took delivery of an Engine Pro 2.0 here in the UK, and throttle was limited to 4mph. Engwe just released (13hrs or so) a vid on how to remove speed limits over on their CZcams support channel, vid title is 'ENGINE PRO 2.0 EU Remove speed limits'. A bit crazy like, as the throttle will now hit 29mph but great for private land ;)

      I did see the video … here in the U.K. 😂😉 So, you can restrict the throttle to 4 mph?

      @@ModProjects4306 yes, our throttle came fixed at 4mph, in whatever PAS mode, 1 through 5. Could pedal up to 28mph no probs as expected in PAS5. However, after that de-restrict is done by holding + for 15 secs, throttle lever goes up to 29mph :o What is a shame is that the max speed mph stuff doesn't seem to be adjustable. When restricted, max speed on menu 08p shows 16mph, however when it is de-restricted that P menu shows 60 odd mph !

      @@ramdor72 you know what. That video has now been removed. 🤔

      @@ModProjects4306 ah !! what a nightmare, lol. I got some more info from my bro (his bike). With the speed restriction enabled as it was delivered here : - 4mph on throttle only - thumb throttle is disabled as soon as any pedal pressure - top assisted speed ~16mph when using pedals With speed restriction removed (15 secs of + button when in P menu). He has only tested this with rear wheel off the ground at the moment as he hasn't been able to get out on it yet with this change. - 29mph on throttle I'll let you know what he finds out when he gets out on it again. Cheers.

      They no longer supply the one I use so you’ll have to find one yourself I’m afraid.
