It's clear that Chavo has no problem with Rey and Dom using Eddie's move to pay homage, but the problem that he's referring to is that the company probably doesn't, hasn't done, and probably won't pay Eddie's daughters for the merchandise sales and the usage of his name and/or his character. I don't think Chavo has a heat with both Mysterios, but probably with the company. At least that's what I get from this part of the interview.
And he's right. Eddie's daughters should also get some paychecks when the company profiting something from their father. And he's also right, if anyone wants to use Eddie's in-ring antique, the only two that are okay to do it are Rey and Dom.

Considering Dom was involved in a storyline at like 8 to do with Eddie, it's only right if anyone was doing it, it's him. There's a reason to it and it keeps Eddie's legacy more relevant than anyone else's today. He's been gone for about 17 or so years yet he's always mentioned which is great.

the more chavo talks about eddie and people paying homage to one of if not their favorite wrestler, the more I think he wishes people loved him more after eddie's passing than they did rey... and everytime he brings up people getting payed a lot off it it gives me the vibe that he wishes he could've gotten over and profited off of it more like they did.
I will say however, Eddie's family should definitely be profiting off him if they aren't already as that's what he would have wanted for his daughters

I mean the frog splash isn’t exclusively Eddie’s. Rvd used the frog splash, Montez ford uses the frog splash. The frog splash is used by various wrestlers as a near fall spot as opposed to a finish. At this point the only move dom does that Eddie used is the three amigos

I agree. I was a big Eddie fan too but at the end of the day, his "moves" are just wrestling maneuvers and were probably "someone else's" before him. Chavo does seem to be bitter about anyone other than himself doing anything that resembles Eddie. Not just in this interview but also in others I've seen.

There are not a lot of people in this world that are still so loved and missed like Eddie. I was so crushed when he passed and still hearing his them and watching back his matches gives me chills. Eddie was truely one of the best of all time. It would have been one hell of a storeline if Eddie could have teamed with Dom and maybe even faced him in the ring in a real father vs son Wrestlemania match. 😉

Awhile back he was on Twitter saying the same thing, and when everyone called him out for being bitter, he claimed in a later tweet that he was just working the fans to get heat and maybe start a program with Dom. I agree his daughters need to get paid too but theres nothing wrong with Dom using some moves of his. Wrestling is about story telling. This was a perfect story to follow up on. It was only right to use the moves. No issue and it also keeps Eddie name alive for the younger fans who don’t know about him. A true full circle moment

and Dom is probably my #2 reason for watching pre-Punk and Orton coming back. I would take more issue if I was Chavo with the use of his taunts and stuff like that, some moves need to be protected for certain... but if we start telling guys to stop doing these awesome moves that were put over by some of the greats altogether? Dom is just like a fighting game character where he is a new generation character who is a mixture of two older characters that came before him, which is pretty cool.
Eddie was probably closer with Rey than he was Chavo. So if anyone can use Eddie's moves it should be Dom. Not to mention the whole storyline. Chavo sounds a bit salty
Chavo’s mad cause he’s been stealing shit from Eddie since forever and got negative reactions since his 06-07 feud with mysterio ended. Dom actually connects with the crowd and got over not only doing Eddie’s moveset but having a great character, and chavo’s just butthurt he was never able to connect to the crowd like that unless he was paired with Eddie or working against Rey.
Dom is doing Eddie's moves as being a heel towards his dad. Plus Rey does Eddie's moves too. It's keeping his legacy alive.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, Dominik def used his family lineage and their legacy to his benefit. But he also did something that most nepo babies never do - and that's work hard and do something interesting with the opportunity given to him. When he made his debut, they tried to lean heavily into the family legacy and it didn't work. SO he had to break off and go do his own thing. He's now one of the most popular stars because he's doing his own thing, and crushing it. While yes his family ties gave him a major leg up, there are countless examples of other wrestler kids who flop hard after their debut - and just fade out doing nothing.
On the other hand, I also see where Chavo is coming from. From a financial point of view, it is messed up that Eddie's family isn't seeing any money for his work - and yet other people are leaning into his legacy to make money for themselves. At the end of the day tho, I think this is a problem for the WWE and not Dominik. As a corporation, they need to do right by their employees (especially past employees).

I agree to an extent. The storyline bit and persona should be for Dom and Rey if he ever pleases. They’ve done wrestling stories and stuff together. But I do agree for the Merchandising, ONLY if it’s strictly Eddie it should go to the daughters but if it’s also some of Dom I think it’s fair to have the daughters and Dom as well.
Chavo is absolutely correct.. they have capatalized off Guerreros death and its not fair to his family. And if there's anyone that could use his moves it should or would have only been his daughters, Chavo Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, or the Mysterios. That's it. Perhaps a Jericho who was close to him or a Sasha Banks with the blessing of Chavo or his daughters..
They gave Vickie a job for years on end despite Vickie having zero wrestling skill or star power at the time, they specifically wrote her a character and high card storylines so that she could take care of her family in Eddies stead, they did far more than necessary with that. Wrestling moves do not belong to anyone really so I don't see why, if one wrestler who used a variation of a popular move dies, the rest of the industry shall then not be allowed to do these moves anymore, thats just nonsensical.
@Triplebrc they capitalize off his death and whole lot and exploit it all the time, so yeah they a right to be mad especially when the daughters who matter the most don't receive anything (currently, not talking about ever). Also nobody is saying they should ban those moves, that's ridiculous for you to insinuate that, but it just makes sense that those that I mentioned would or should.

@@robertodimas7429 No, they have no right to be mad whatsoever, in fact they should be grateful for all the extra money they got for years by WWE hiring Vickie. Eddie was a wrestler under contract, he died, his contract therefore ended, the company does not owe his family anything from that point on aside from a small cut of the merchandise they sell with his face on it, if even that, and letting the son of a friend use a few of the guys moves from time to time is hardly "exploiting" anyone, the company hasn't done that since the Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton months after Eddies death.
The fact that they still enabled Vickie to make a great living off of Eddies name for years already means that they did far more for that family than they needed to. I can't imagine the entitlement required to think that all living relatives of a deceased wrestler should still get money almost two decades after that wrestlers passing.
If they want any money they should join the company and earn it, one of his daughters tried if I remember correctly, but she couldn't hack it. WWE or any company working with contracts for that matter would certainly be broke if they listened to you, as the countless relatives of long dead wrestlers would just line up with open hands.
