I'm in shocked. That this happen to coach.... A great stooges in the WWE promos ring performances. Then they piss on him with many other wrestlers from the past. The more rich a company is & they got everything from you. They will throw you away like a peace of garbage.

No matter what you think about coachmen he's a good dude. I remember meeting him in 2001 me and my friend in our hometown they were doing an event and coach was nice enough to take a picture and I told him hurry up and take the picture. Rest Ben's so he's not here anymore that's besides the point but then Coachman laughed and said yeah hurry up ben you're taking too long. No matter what he was still a good dude and honestly honestly he was told to do what he had to do to make money but obviously the way they did him. Is dirty but that's how it is people make excuses when they think they own the world very sad. Hopefully they paid him though cuz if not that would be dirty but I believe they probably didn't pay him but then again who knows I wasn't there but the fact that he's talking about it he probably didn't get paid very sad to be loyal and just get scammed like that

I once worked at a place for about 7 years. I knew everyone, and everyone knew me. I wasn’t the boss, but was part of leadership. Had almost everyone to my house for annual parties. I was well liked/respected. I had a serious health scare, and had to take time off to address it. When I returned 4 weeks later, the attitude towards me, was that I now owed everyone for covering me. Like I was off traveling the world or something. When my disease flared up again 3 months later, they asked me to resign. I was so offended I signed the paper in anger and left. NOT ONE person reached out to me to see if I was okay, or if I was even alive, until about 3 years later via an email. It was several paragraphs of some things that needed my signature, followed by a last line about “hoping I was doing better”. I told them to FK OFF, and take me to court if they want my signature on anything.
Your coworkers are not your friends or your family, no matter what they say. Good people are rare. Seek them out.
💯.. same story as far as loyalty , being well liked going the extra mile etc.. btw I hope your mental is intact and your health is in great condition after 7 years took medical leave for 3 weeks cause my wife had a heath scare giving birth and needed my assistance. When returned back to the work you would’ve thought I slept with my bosses and coworkers wife’s 😂😂.. they changed my schedule , demoted me outta my position stuck me on weekends when I was longest tenured employee, made me work every holiday and was scheduling me on my day off . I don’t play with people tryna play with me so I got up outta there and got laid on my way out learned a valuable lesson around that time . Thanks for sharing your story 🫡

I got bullied after they moved me to the worst possible department when I returned after my health scare. The manager told me my health issue wasn't permanent despite it being entirely undiagnosed at the time. Guess what? It's permanent. I reported the harassment from 2 people to my general manager. I broke down crying and said if I hadn't tried to take my own life as a teenager, I know for a fact I would've tried now as a result of the abuse. I luckily managed to cling onto the job, and eventually had it out with both of those people. One of them instantly showed how sorry they are, and for the last 3 years we've been friends. The other cunt just took all of my fury and didn't even so much as try to justify it. Her own grandson (he also worked with us at the time) told her it was her fault, he was shocked to hear I even shouted at somebody because I just treat everyone with respect because I didn't want to lose my job.

That sort of behaviour does not go on anywhere else in the world. Thats why companies have staff coverage in case of moments like this. YOu also get paid during these sick weeks

My mom worked for a nursing home for 30 years. A model employee went multiple years with perfect attendance, did the job of 3 people, skipped lunches and breaks to get work done, truly cared about the residents, and had ood relationships with her coworkers. She switched to a less physical job that paid better cause she physically couldn't do it anymore. They didn't even throw her a going away party. She had organized countless going away parties for others. They didn't do anything for her and nobody even stopped by to wish her luck or say goodbye. She never got any appreciation for what she did there. Hearing her cry while saying all of this broke my heart and taught me an important lesson: your employer doesn't give a crap about you, you're there to work and that's it.

If you work hard, you have to do it for yourself, not others. Theres no shame in enjoying being a productive worker. And if you expect them to give it back or appreciate it, youll always be heart broken.
I always tell my bosses who thank me for the hard work, "listen, I work this way for myself, it makes me feel good, I enjoy it. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with you, your managerial skills or the work environment you create. I would work this way at any job, for any person, because thats who Iam."
Shows them off the bat that good workers cant easily be manipulated, because they will try and no one else is going to look out for you.
And then employers act surprised when no one wants to work for them anymore or get pissed when employees do the bare minimum
That's the way it is. I go above and beyond, and nobody cares. I get one complaint, and I get called to the boss's office. It's a joke.
And they wonder why employee loyalty doesn't exist anymore.
My mouth dropped when he said he had his check bounced and that they ghosted him. This man wore a thong on national TV, took bumps as an untrained non wrestler, traveled all across the world for them and they screwed him. That’s freakin WILD!

Idk, I'm willing to give the benefit of doubt to Vince in this case. I think the problem lies on some other executives and not Vince himself. Coach didn't say he contacted Vince directly, so I think Vince didn't even knew this happening. Bouncing check is just not sounds like Vince. I can't recall any other stories from people who hates Vince ever said about their check bounced or they are not getting paid (unlike ECW). Vince MO is getting a contract that will cost him as little as he can, but he will pay whatever amount agreed upon.

I absolutely lived for The Rock and Coach segments as a kid. It was the most entertaining form of comedy in the world. Coach is a legend in his own right who needs to be respected. I didn't like the character he played (which we weren't supposed to) but I appreciated the man who went through the efforts to put that character on.
Learned a LONG TIME AGO that I could die on a Monday, be replaced by Wednesday and completely forgotten by Friday. Don’t get me wrong. I work hard at my job, but I also know I’m not that important in the grand scheme of things.

It's disgusting how corporate will treat people. Coach is a legend in his own right. He wasn't even a wrestler, yet he was always one of the most entertaining parts of the show on a weekly basis.

This is exactly why you should NEVER show unbridled loyalty to any employer. No matter what you think, the employer is only loyal to the business, not the people who help them run it. 99.9% of the time, an employee or contractor is nothing more than an expendable asset.

It's not so much that WWE "shouldn't" be running shows 52 weeks a year. The deeper truth is that we, the people, don't WANT 52 weeks a year of it.

When they added Coach to Raw with Jim Ross and King it was an excellent move. I didn't realize it at the time but looking back it was different and it worked. Especially when Lawler started favoring the faces.

I've always liked Jonathan Coachmen! And he was always an asset to WWE sorry that they didn't realize that, and i miss him but unfortunately I've been hearing stories like this, for a long time about Vince not being a good person and valuing money over people, glad to see that Coachman is still doing good and that God put him in his rightful place..
Coach was great man. Even though he was a despised presence on camera during the 2000s, overtime people learned to appreciate him because he was so damn entertaining. His segments with Eric Bischoff, the Rock, Stone Cold, Vince, DX, John Cena, William Regal etc were gold. Treating someone like that who’s been nothing but loyal for 20 years is just morally wrong.

Coach came into my bar in Nashville sometime in the mid 2000s. I recognized him instantly and got him a round. Chatted very briefly, I didn’t want to impose on his time. He was a class act. Nothing but love for the Coach.

Beyond The Mat documentary explained it perfect on how Vince was doing his staff. Dude was super strict on missing a day or two. He would give them the boot in a heartbeat. Sadly tons of legends had to wrestle while badly injured & it led to most drug addictions.

I worked at a company for 8 years and it was an awesome place to work. During covid lockdown while I was sitting at home, I still got a full paycheck for 3 months doing nothing. Finally my boss rang me up personally and said he doesn't know how long this shit is gonna last so he gotta let go a bunch of people. I told him I completely understand and he sacked me. I respected the fact that he called me personally.

Most people credit a wrestler for why they still watch wrestling as an adult. Coachman is my reason.
Won front row seats to a local house show when I was little, he got into an argument with me during the show. When the show was over he came back out took some pictures with me and thanked me and my family for coming and letting him go off script for the night.
The Coach was one of my favorite characters in the early and mid 2000s in wwe 😂 . He was beyond arrogant sneaky and hilarious at the same time . I wish him nothing but the best he deserves it

This is a prime example of how large corporations operate. We work our asses off, we're loyal to our obligations, and our "bosses" but we don't get the same loyalty in return. These companies are loyal to one thing, their bottom line. This is why having options are important.

Met Coachman when he was a young sports reporter in Kansas City. It wasn’t very long after that he was on WWE. Good guy!

I work at a retail as a manager for 13 years now. I am amazed how similar problems they are in such a mediocre business and the WWE. The fact that they don't appreciate loyalty is just a huge red flag

I like Coach but massive companies do have specific protocols that need to be followed.
consider the sources of those stories: angry, bitter people upset that they flopped or whose gimmicks weren’t over like they were in small companies

This isn’t some nobody talking because Vince buried them on NXT and they never got over it. This is a well-known commodity who got heat for years and then parlayed his WWE run into a gig on ESPN. But sure, let’s take the side of a giant corporation, that’s always the right side to align with. 😂

Coach had alot of input getting espn to put wwe on their website even had a segment on espn for wrestlimg it was shortlived the coach is 1 of the goats from attitude into ruthless aggression

Coach! I couldn't believe how stoked I was when he came back! He seems like a real professional and I always admired him for that. I wish I could afford to be a man of principle when it came to my employment! Good for you Coach!
I feel The Coach on this one. You work your butt off for someone; you stay loyal to them, and you defend them. Yet when "winning time" rolls around, they don't think enough of you to even give you the time of day. Who would want to work in such a climate of disrespect? Not me, that's for sure!

This just goes to show that companies will want employees to go "above and beyond" for the business, but when it's time for compensation or a show of gratitude everything is lost. It's truly sad reality.
I am sorry Jonathan Coachman went through that. He did A LOT for WWE during his time there. The sad truth is many employers don't care for their employees. They can make you seem as though you're valuable, amazing, etc. only to give you the pink slip at any time. That's why no job is worth risking health, family, etc. I was shocked when learning medical faculty were fired from a public university where I work, because I thought they had tenure and did research that always got funded from external organizations. One did cancer-related research, which I always thought was essential. They got fired, and that also told me despite seniority, education, and experience...you can lose your job at any time. Don't be afraid to ask for a raise after doing so much for a company and see if they will show you their gratitude.
This hurts. I always enjoyed Coach, i had high hopes for his return and it sucks that he'll never return again

I know the feeling, I sympathize. Worked for different companies, knew people, got along well, but whenever a crisis came up, I was always let go. Several times. I believe in working hard, showing up on time, doing my best. But, NEVER trust a company. Sleep with one eye open, don't turn your back.
Coach's heel turn in 2003 will always by fave ever turn. It was just so random and unexpected and he took that ball and ran all the way with it. Heel Coach was awesome.
