- God these shorter 6 episode South Park seasons really do come and go so quick, don’t they? Even with 2 weeks off in the middle, it feels like season 26 just started. The 5th and penultimate episode of this season of South Park, titled Dikinbaus Hot Dogs, just aired, and I thought this was another GREAT example of South Park finding a perfect balance between old and new. This was a really great Butters episode, a really great Cartman episode and very strong Kenny episode! For his birthday, no less! But it also definitely feels like a bit of an inside look at how Matt and Trey have been feeling while they re-open Casa Bonita, so there’s a ton here to talk about. Let’s dive in.

It was certainly nice of butters getting Cartman’s old house back, he’s truly a great friend.
And it’s made even better knowing this is exactly what Cartman DOESN’T want.
Is he homeless by choice in the good future? He seemed upset that he got his house back
@@David-qi2ck if I have to guess it’s probably due to Trey Parker and Matt Stone mindfuck moments of just giving Cartman a hard time. Such as that episode where Stan and butters have is adults looking like their future selves, but yet aren’t even their future selves, but are just employees of some company that tries to get kids to work hard in school or you’re gonna end up like a bum. To which Eric’s future self actually makes an appearance he is in better shape, but until he decides to tell his future self like yeah screw it I’m just gonna go and keep eating unhealthy. To which alters the past in doing so makes Eric Cartman not only a healthy individual, but also a fat plumber. Then in another app support in order to stop the madness in the future he somehow got frozen into because the past multiple times altering the present future timeline he is in all for a Nintendo Wii🤣🤣🤣
Lmfao.
Yup, WickedBinge nailed it on the coffin for having him as number 1 for their *Good to Evil* list.🤗
At first I thought Kenny was being uncharacteristically calloused/selfish, but then I realized that in low-stakes situations, he just likes to hang around regardless of how things turn out.
when there's smth in it for him, he'll tag along w/ cartman. for instance when cartman reformed the confederacy and went around conquering the US, kenny joined just bc cartman promised him women
Notice that he joined to have fun. The moment shit started to hit the fan he bailed with his "work from home" scheme. He knew Cartman's plan was probably going to blow up in his face (as it did) and got out when he could since he didn't put anything into it to lose.
@@tiablue9106 this is so funny out of context lmaoo
Plus, Kenny probably seriously thought Butters would be made whole again. The stakes were low enough and if it didnt work out, Kenny would probably just apologize.
Everyone knows investments are subject to the risk of loss after all.
@@tiablue9106 i feel like now kenny has seen both heaven and hell countless times (and lived in hell), he's just like, nothing matters, lemme have fun where i can
I like that Butters having actual good business savy has stayed part of his character. He's a smart kid and has found success multiple times, but it's always taken away by circumstance.
Pssssst
Pssssst
Y'all ever hear of NFTs?
Between this and the Post Covid special they definitely do seem to be keeping that as part of his character
@@TwitchyTopHat1 nah, Pimping is more respectable
If anyone deserves a good ending or goof future it is surely Butters. I do hope his adult self has a better life than he did in the covid specials (I don't remember how it was at the end when things changed.)
Those circumstances are, of course, either other kids, cartman or his parents..
Love that Cartman's back in the old house. His basement is a super underrated location with all the plans the boys have made down there.
I've never even thought of what an iconic location that is
That is true, Cartman’s basement was an essential place for a lot of episodes, even in Fractured But Whole it was a central location. Might even get used for the next South Park game
It’s also where he played Lambs.
Now stan needs to return
Yep I’m glad the hotdog house was short-lived. Now all we need is the Marsh family back in their old house
I love that Cartman actually didnt last 4 hours, they even did the timer thing to show that XD
I think it would've been better if instead of a black screen telling you how long it had been, there was a digital clock or something on the wall behind Cartman and Butters and it would just change by X amount of minutes each scene. It would be a cool detail that most people might not notice but it wouldn't be as bad as just outright telling the audience.
@@benetnasch2096 Yeah I get your point, I think it's a reference to another movie but I can't remember wich, but your point is very valid.
@@_np7 isn't that wolf of wall street when they take the ludes?
Butters going “Goddammit!” And running Dikinbaus by himself like a one man show just to get his money back was the most satisfying thing ever
as someone who just finished a job search in the culinary industry, this episode hit so close to home. there's so many people just throwing their money at a food project that's supposed to be inspired and groundbreaking but want employees that are gonna work for their vision at minimum wage
@@voiceunderthecovers maybe not the point of the episode but it’s definitely a large part of it. After all “they took our JOBS!!”
@@voiceunderthecovers The people who need additional mental days off are the type who think that having two days off a week isn't good enough.
Every corporation gives 0 fucks about the workers. It’s inherently ingrained
This is my new favorite episode of the whole season! This episode not only had me dying of laughter but it felt like classic cartman classic Kenny and classic South Park!
Definitely the best
Yeah it’s 🔛🔝!
Classic Cartman would have won in the end but im VERY happy they finally acknowledged that cartman can achieve anything he wants. For me thats a core part of the character that when it comes to being evil or manipulate he is the hardest worker in the world.
Classic bitters ?
@@helioslegigantosaure6939 butters seemed to have been sticking up for himself a bit more toward the end. Not being such a pushover
Cartman crying "I want DikinBaus!" at the end... pure schadenfreude.
I love how all of Kenny’s lines were easy to understand even when muffled in this episode.
5:46 Clyde and his dad. For some reason I find that so wholesome. You rarely ever see the other kids interacting with their parents, but here the little smile the give each other says so much.
I notice they do that alot too. I wo Der if they feel bad killing his mom off for a joke, and that's why Clyde and his dad seem to be one of the few wholesome dad - son pairings in the show
Feels like this episode was just more proof that Cartman will eventually become homeless in the future.
Prison. He literally would not last fifteen minutes on the street.
so the poor Cartman ending is the true ending?
@@burbanpoison2494doesn't future Cartman end up homeless in the future specials, though?
@@crumblyairship was that the real future?
@@burbanpoison2494After the boys fix the timeline, everyone except Cartman receive a happy ending, Kyle mentions that Cartman didn't do anything on his life so more likely if he keeps walking this path he will become homeless.
1:51 and when he moves back into his room you can see his skateboard!
Hey Chippy, didn't suspect you being here
Didnt even notice that, also funny to see you here chippy
I just don't see why kyle was so interested in him using that skateboard to jump over the homeless.
Love your vids chippy
ain't no way I just got back into terraria and I see you here lol
so great to have old school south park eps again. Can we just appreciate how far their animation has come btw?!
Seriously! The intro is especially pretty!! :D
Yea it looks nice, not fully sure how to feel about it since imo some of the new animation takes away from the paper cutout style like how all the new characters have really detailed hair with shading and all the old characters still have flat colors, still cool though
@@Suspicious-Carl i feel like that adds to the sort of crappiness of the animation
@BrickedUpJohnny99 The show still is in cutout style in a way tho, while the animation is better, it still feels choppy in a way
If only they put more effort into making more episodes. Their new seasons feel so half-assed compared to their glory days.
I love the ending! His mom just drags Cartman along as he is crying and pleading not to leave as she has the same smile on her face. You can tell she enjoyed teaching him a lesson!
Kenny is adorable with the shades on literally an icon
The ending is so funny, after being complaining each time he could about his new house, he got what he wanted, his old house by losing all the things he managed to get by scamming Butters.
Also really funny that Kyle and Liane told him he couldn't last 4 hours and Cartman quits to make his new bussiness at 3 hours with 2 minutes after not even working
Hey, he pulled a hot dog out of the water. That’s work.
I think the reason Trey and Matt don’t acknowledge the prince is that they know that that’s exactly the kind of attention Harry and Meaghan want. Ignoring their reaction and refusing to acknowledge their existence is just perfect
This might’ve been my favorite episode of the season so far. They’ve really been on a roll with this one
Cartmans mom having the cafeteria cooking show from crème fraige on tv was a nice touch.
It seems Kenny's family aren't doing too bad financially. We see Kenny eat Takis (which aren't cheap), play video games (which racks up your electric bill), AND work from home via Zoom! His family are even at the ice cream shop!
OMG! Kenny rolling on the floor while laughing was so cute!
This was definitely my favorite episode of this season also love that there finally getting back to old south park. Can't wait for the season finale.
a wild sawbutt appears!
It's cool to see Leanne Cartman growing as a character and no longer spoiling the shit out of Eric. And I appreciated how Butters respected Cartman and Kenny's vision of the dick and balls joke on the plates even though he only started working the hot dog stand to get his money back 😂
I'm SO glad you mentioned that it said "DiKimble's" before. I saw that was the new episode name (when I knew it was *something* else before), and was like "how did I not get that the first time???"
DiKimble's makes sense when I know the joke, but it's definitely a lot less obvious (and doesn't really have the same punch to it). DikinBaus is perfect.
I hope Butters keeps his ice cream job. He loved working there and was so cute in his little uniform. He deserves employee of the month.
Episodes like these cement just why I love characters like Butters "and Jimmy too" so much. They don't need to assert their dominance by raw power but rather instead by using subtle tactics. They use brains over brawn, but they're are still willing to put in the actual work needed to accomplish their goals.
It's really felt like finding a rare gem to see Kenny have his face reveal, even when he is wearing shades.
As soon as Butters says "hey fellas" you alreeady kno the episode gonna be great
After all of the shit Butters had to deal with Cartmans crazy ideas, it was nice to see Butters gotten so much development to the point where he is not so gullible that much and made a smart plan make Cartman get what he deserves. Love it 😂
I like how they actually added subtitles for Kenny's less-muffled voice in this episode that will actually tell you what he was saying, they dont always do that, but because of the day the episode aired on you can see why they did it
I know this is silly, but as a knitter I LOVE that they animated Leanne knitting properly. Knitting is very rarely animated with the needles pointing the right direction.
Considering how future Kenny has his face shown constantly, it makes me wonder if there's going to be a TV cliche style episode about Kenny running out of hoodies to wear that has as much emotion as the Pip episode
I’m glad to see that we’re getting more and more episodes where Butters gets the last laugh over Cartman.
Definitely my most and new favorite episode in the season, when I immediately saw Kenny and him unhooded, a rush of excitement got a hold of me, Loved it!!
FR I WAS JUMPING
Cartman reaping what he sows. Love to see it!
Interesting, the ending might be a subtle callback to the episode where Cesar Milan trains Cartman.
Note that Liane doesn’t say a WORD the entire time she drags Cartman out of the hot dog house and into their old house. Doesn’t look at him or acknowledge a single thing he says. She uses the lessons that Cesar taught her: to not acknowledge Cartman’s actions and to be the dominant pack leader. She simply grabs him and drags him out.
I absolutely loved this!
For the record, future Butters was a server at Denny’s-Applebees Max
Though I kind of wish he did end up working at Bennigan’s instead
That was such a missed opportunity
OH YOU’RE RIGHT I conflated it with his love of Bennigan’s lol
Does Bennigan's even exist still? I thought I read somewhere that they went out of business.
Loved this episode, and it might be my fave or second fave of the season! One detail I noticed (that may or not be shown in other episodes) is that Butter's phone is akin to an Iphone 13 Pro with the 3 cameras, and Cartman's is more like an 8 with just 1. Cool little detail if you consider that Butters is more well off and has been working a job, while Eric is living in a defunct restaurant outside of town.
This whole season has been fantastic. I can’t hardly believe I’ve been watching this show for 25 years and it’s still great.
I absolutely love the way that Cartman got what was coming to him. Because it's not necessarily bad. He literally got what he wanted at the cost of him losing his entire business.
Love episodes where Butters wins in the end.
Honestly, my favourite episode of the last two seasons most definitely! It was just so fun and felt like a season 15-17 episode, I adore Kenny and cartmans friendship and I'm so glad we got to see more of this duo, their episodes together r always so fun! Throw butters into the mix and it's even better!
At least Liane is on her way to get a good ending
Watching Kenny with those shades was awesome 😂. Gotta update that video now
Brilliant episode. I particularly loved the scene with Butters Parents. It seems ages since we last hinted at his Dad's secret liaisons!
Fun ep and a good Kenny/Cartman episode....wonder what the finale will bring? Also hope Dikinbaus comes at the 3rd South Park game!
Same hopefully an achievement for going down the slide or ordering food from it
“I want to be in DikinBuas!” is the best line ever
My favorite is him going down the slide while talking to Butters. Just classic.
This was my favorite episode this season so far for sure. It felt like a classic South Park episode without a forced narrative. Even the social commentary felt way more natural.
I think any time Cartman gets in trouble or punished for his bad behavior (and it stays that way) I can't help but feel absolute satisfaction
You miss the one of the funniest running gag that butters Dad loves his bath houses
i love how this whole season feels like a return to a classic southpark story formula and vibe while still managing to evolve and feel fresh.
After all They have done so far They can put out just 6 episodes in 2 years and Im still gonna be happy!!! Absolute living legends Matt and Trey !!! And this entire season is a future classic.
Anyone else notice cartman and Kenny laying forward on the floor drinking juice and laughing was the same way they were back in Cherokee hair tampons playing with the toys
Now that Eric's back in the neighborhood I'd love if next episode had a classic start of the boys waiting at the bus stop
But Stan still ives at Tegridy Farms.
I love this episode. Feels like a new take on the Cartmanland episode where he's starting a business, it gets more complicated, and then he gets his come upance.
I'm suppressed how well these south park episodes are turning when they are pumping them out this quick, can't wait to see whats next
Was weird i went searching for this video this morning after watching the episode but it was nowhere on the channel now suddenly it is. Thank you for your hard work covering all these amazing shows and hope you have a great day ^^
This clearly shows how he ends up homeless in the future dude doesn't want to put the work in, and it ends with him being homeless. Frankly he deserves it, I love butters
I'm saying it now, this is the best season of the show in years
I hope Kenny at least gets to keep making money from the hotdogs. He deserves something good. And it’d be a really funny way to rub it in cartman’s face.
This season is shaping up to be one of my favorites.
I do want more cartman and kenny doing stuff together.
Easily my favourite of the season, and that's even after nearly dying of laugher from Worldwide Privacy Tour. The plot really feels like Cartman's older get-rich-quick schemes as well as his Butters manipulations. The representation of Matt and Trey's work on Casa Bonita as well as some rips on modern employment was a ton of fun too. So many laugh out loud moments too, especially the fact they brought back the "they took our jobs" gag
I love how the episode is centered around three of my favorite characters, and at the same time doing so many other things
I always like when Cartman suffers. This new take-no-shit Liane is amazing
As a huge Kenny fan myself this episode and how much attention they gave his appearance in it on social media was really a cool drink of water in what has been a bit of a desert lately. Luckily the little bits of him we have gotten lately has been very good imo. (I'm still not over rich scientist Kenny in BOTH future timelines, I felt so vindicated for him lol) I can only hope for more of my fav in the future 🙏
As someone who just started working at Baskin Robbins, the beginning of this episode feels uncomfortably relatable
Thanks for the recap and insight.
This couldn’t have ended better
I love how the name Dikinbaus fits cartmans voice like how he says mom or school
This episode was a masterclass in writing. Kenny and butters are the best. Great to see. The team up of Liane and butters to pink cartman was magnificent. You know what else was. The unmuffled Kenny.
Yo I'm just lying in bed rn on a Friday morning where it's kinda chilly outside but still sunny and can hear the birds chirping and stuff and this vid accompanying all that stuff is chill af. Reminds me of when i was a kid and every morning I'd just chill and play angry Birds and whatnot. Your vid just randomly awoke some childhood nostalgia for me thanks man
Restaurant Owner Kenny is such a vibe
If I member correctly this is the 1st time we have seen his face since season 15
I'm just glad Kenny was in an episode even if his role wasn't that big
That was Beyond Awesome Johnny 2 cellos keep it up 😀😎👍🤘❤
Love your content!
I am really glad Matt and Trey cared enough about their mental health to take an extra week off.
God this season has truly been gold absolutely love every episode.
I love that the plot of this episode had alot of parallels to Cartmanland. First he gets a a source of money without doing any work then uses it to do something incredibly selfish and then when he is happy things happen that are consequences of his selfishness that immediately gets it ripped away from him leading him ending up worse off in the end.
literally, the first time we’ve ever seen Cartman and Kenny being actual good friends, because Carmen is constantly making fun of Kenny for being bored. Kenny is never saying anything because he doesn’t care enough to respond.
Kenny used to be Cartman's sidekick in the earlier seasons before that role slowly switched over to Butters so it's an usual thing for them to be good friends since they both share the same type of immature humor most of the time.
Never been this early, but I know it's a banger of a video
Didnt even mention the call back of Butters Dad, “going to the office” from Butters' Very Own Episode
Two Enemies Suddenly Working Together In an Episode? So Great!
I liked the ending with cartman crying about how much he wants dikinbaus
I hope that we haven't seen the end of Dikinbaus. Plenty of episode opportunities with the new "foreign investors who would buy the land and business," or just to show the kids eating there sometime.
Perfect video Johnny
really enjoyed finally getting some kenny content!! i'm also a big fan of how they wrote his dialogue this episode. that "jesus christ, dude" and "the fuuuuck?" when cartman bust into his house and went on that ramble about him being poor were so well timed and funny. i always enjoy when kenny gets to be the drier member of the group - i feel like his characterisation as the impoverished kid who basically looks after himself and his sister and dies all the time, but also this sex obsessed kid who was addicted to huffing cat pee, lends itself really well to both a worldweariness and that, like, childish goofiness that contrast andplay so well off each other comically. i hope we get to see more of kenny in future because all those traits make him so funny, and are something unique to the main five
0:53 Not to mention in the safe space episode, where butters literally worked himself to near death to help others.
I love matt and tray whenever they get awesome passion projects. They make a really good episodes based on that experience
did you know the DikinBaus hotdog house is actually a real place in Bailey, CO? built in the 60s along Colfax and moved up to the mountains in 2006
It's great how Leanne got her home back thanks to butters, and cartman was left miserable in the end, perfect bonus
Probably my favorite episode of the season, glad Kenney got some screen time lol
I like how you giggled after saying the episode name
i always love watching your vids after the new episodes come out to get co text that i otherwise wouldn’t know about. would you ever consider making a vid on the different characters matt and trey voice in south park?
It’s also really funny when Eric is telling his mom he wants a job on the TV in the background is the episode when randy becomes a chef and the long food network title
i really wanna see a self aware 4th wall-ish episode that showcases how money hungry cartman is by somehow letting the rest of the class in on a bunch of money like if they won a contest or something, and their escapades trying to keep it a secret from cartman because they don't want to be roped into whatever wild idea he would come up with when he heard everyone had money to burn
Cartman and Kenny are an underrated duo
