Annnnd season 26 of South Park is officially over. As much as I love the variety of storytelling we can get from the combination of these 6 episode seasons and the 2 specials we’ll get later in the year, these short seasons really do come and go too quick. Season 26 ended relatively unceremoniously with an episode called Spring Break, but with what I felt was mostly a strong episode, with some VERY strong Garrison character development (via Trump) and a little bit of a fearful admission about what may come in the future. Plus a Randy subplot that was funny, but a bit undercooked. Let’s dive in.

great timing too, trump just got indicted! dont drop the soap donnie boy hahahahaahha
"It's cheaper than grocery shopping". Meanwhile, the price on screen is like 4-8x as expensive as the groceries I get, and I can guarantee I'm getting much larger portions.
HelloFresh may make things easier, faster, and so on - but to try to even say it's "cheaper than grocery shopping" is absolutely hilarious. I'm looking at the prices in my country, the price per serving is $6 - and who knows what taxes or fees might be on top of that? And that's with discounts! LOL.
If HelloFresh is "cheaper than grocery shopping" I recommend trying to:
* Find a different supermarket. Of course, if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere: damn that sucks, but you also probably can still find cheaper groceries online in a less luxury-minded way.
* Look for cheaper brands. "Off-brand" is usually of a similar, or often better, quality. I literally don't even care what brand things anymore, and only in few exceptions has it backfired.
* Reconsider what foods you really care about (enjoyment), and reconsider what foods you really get a health benefit from. Cereal, I find, is going up like crazy but it just genuinely isn't that important to my life enjoyment, and it sure isn't important for my health (lol).
* Try new, cheap, foods and see how it goes. The humble potato is cheaper than the dirt it grows in. I get 10lbs bags for like $2-3, $5 at worst.
If I wanted to spend $18/day for food, I'd just buy an 18" pepperoni pizza, have some $ left over (or get it delivered), end up not even finishing half the thing and end up with leftovers for tomorrow.
I don't think it's a "bad" sponsorship or anything, and actually I would totally recommend a meal delivery service to many people as well depending on income, lifestyle, and their ability to cook, and so on . . . But . . . Cheaper than groceries? Seems like a huge reach for most people. Unless you're living in the middle of nowhere, grocery shopping is almost 100% going to be cheaper.
😂
Andrew Tate would’ve been better addressed with someone like Butters and/or Scott Malkinson falling into the Tate rabbit hole
Agreed
@@Johnny2Cellos I was really hoping they’d do one of their paramount specials on Andrew Tate. Mainly because I would’ve loved the idea of exploring the “outcast” boys in South Park seeing the girls all flock to Clyde and see how they are ignored by all of them.
Andrew Tate tells them what they want to hear. They act up based off his influence. The school itself tries to address Andrew tate but do it in a way schools in real life are doing it which won’t work and makes the boys double down on their believes and affirms to them “the matrix” is attacking tate and his message.
South Park could’ve made a great point showing how what he preaches is wrong but how just preaching to kids how bad he is without addressing the underlying issue as to why he resonated with so many young boys and teenagers.
Using Randy the way they did just felt like a weak story and underwhelming way to address such a complex issue.
Oh, hes pressin pickle.
butters tellin them beaches to collect kisses lig theyy supoased do
Butters already did in the Cupid ye episode “bitches love a show of force”
Not gonna lie, I was legitimately on the edge of my seat when Randy was swinging on the chandelier. Not for his sake, mind you, but out of concern he was going to wreck Stan and Tolkien's game setup.
Same. I was certain he was gonna break Stan’s game pieces and Stan was gonna lose it.
That's what I thought

@@malcolmxpanther you are aware that every time you correct it and say it's Token, you make Matt and Trey's joke that much funnier, right?

I really do love how Rick isn’t really a main character but it’s made obvious just how important he is to Garrison and how much of a stabilizing force he is for an unhinged person like himself
Yeah lowkey there’s so many characters in South Park who’ve had episodes with lots of development. I exclusively watch the show while stoned and it’s tough to keep track of it all 😂
As a schizo person this made me cry about my girl
I like how he was introduced as "hey class this is Riiiiick" and then Garrison getting a call from his ex, trying to hide his relationship. I honestly expected Rick to be a throw-away-character, just another fling on Garrison's messed up personal life...And then in the chatgpt episode, not only he's still there, but he also plays a big role in the episode, by telling Garrison about the app... because he himself used it to answer Garrison's texts. And that part I really like, because he seems like a nice dude, but he also indulges in "South Park character moments" without it being hyperbolic. That's also why I think he welcomes back Garrison, he's also not perfect, and they do like each other.
Also it feels so weird to have Garrison being referred to as "Herb".
Garrison is another character who needs a timeline mapping their evolution

Took him 26 years to calm down 😂
Honestly surprised by the out of nowhere 40k sub plot.
Kind of fun reminder that the SouthPark creators are geeks
It’s technically not out it nowhere. Tolkien has a raven guard poster and the boys were playing war hammer dark tide together in the second episode
Trey Parker is a huge nerd for board games, war games, and pen and paper games. He even appeared on a board game podcast. Notice how all the board game and DnD references mostly were Stan episodes
It's not a subplot
It's not a subplot
40K has popped in the last few years. I think that's because the good guys *can* win now, and there *are* good guys. Actual hope. There's been a huge influx of fans I've noticed; at the expense of the "GrIm DaRk iS GrEAt" guys of course. But I'm more than happy for them to go away. I'll see guys in 40k videos lamenting how they wish 1st edition marines were still the standard... (Marines Malevolent being basically all marines' M.O.) 40k has *the worst* fans I've ever met; like it's an outlet for actual morbid cruelty for them. And I say that as a 40k fan. I fucking hate most other (older) fans.
i think they didnt mention tate by name purposefully to not introduce anyone who doesnt know him to him
this would be pretty smart…
Why give him more attention?
This is a good theory. You could be right.
I felt so bad for Rick when he spent the whole beach day alone and by himself and I was so shocked when they showed all the people going to the capital!
yeahh I felt so sad for him too
We love rick
I think it's absolutely hilarious Stan got into Warhammer 40k
He kid and we love him
Tolkien is a Raven Guard player, I approve
There's a guy I work with who always paints Warhammer figures in the break room during his lunch break.
Rick is the first South Park character that I know of that called him by his real name of Herb. The school faculty always calls him Mr. Garrison.
His original name was Ethan
even that atheist guy he was in a short relationship with in go god go called him "ms garrison" instead of janet
That scene with Garrison and the guy in the washroom made me laugh so hard.
Same here 😆😂 that took me out
The "I Love Rick" storming the capitol moment really might have been my favorite joke of the season
small thing but I like how stan was painting his miniatures in this ep bc back in "board girls", he was rlly impressed when he saw the girls painted their miniatures
Reading the news while watching this video...Matt and Trey are going to have their work cut out for them lol
God thsts so funny, thinking of Garrison as Trump being aggressively arrested. Lmao
Honestly they’re probably thanking god as it probably means they won’t have to get rid of Garrison for another 4 years

@ Brigid Madden he’s still running bud
@@malcolmxpanther probably not gonna win though, he’ll be too bogged down by legal shit.
The garrison and Rick caricature had me in stitches.
the best thing about it to me is Garrison's supporters still just going along with whatever he says, somehow making 'I love Rick' into a new rallying cry and storming the capitol cos they just want any excuse to be crazy. Big laughs at that.
when i saw this episode i felt so bad for rick. he is just too sweet to be done like he was in that episode he deserves better ngl
This couldn’t of come at a more perfect than now .
fr, this is prophetic
*couldn’t have. Christ, go back to school.
Yep, he just got indicted.
time?
This particular episode was so conveniently-timed for me. Just last week, me and a couple friends went on a trip to a big city, and one of them went off on their own to hang out with people that were smothering them with attention. I felt kind of abandoned and betrayed. I’m not going to get into specifics, but I can say thus far that the tension definitely still remains. Episodes like this give me confidence that things will work out, seeing how that friend has already shown some amount of remorse.
I’m not meaning to treat this like a vent session, just saying that South Park’s colors really shine through when you least expect it
Your friends gender? Humor me.

I have no words for season 26, but all the episodes were amazing and wholesome, ending. Randy being Randy, stan and wendy are back together and kyle and kenny haveing more screen time
Kyle barely had any screen time this season?
@@jyaps8989 more than last year
Are we not getting a special for this year?
@@AqwDragulum yes but no idea on the release date
Both Kenny and Kyle didn't as much screen time as Stan or to a lesser extent Cartman. Half of the episodes gave them barely anything to do.
Was hoping they’d handle Andrew Tate a bit better, that deserved its own A plot
I had zero idea that fool was in the episode lol
I absolutely love how close Stan and Tolkien are now. It makes sense since they are neighbours and have the exact opposite relationship that Randy and Steven have. I just kinda wish it didn't have to come at the cost of Stan and Kyle's friendship.
I brought up the Trump indictment a couple episodes ago when it was first brought up. Now that Trump really is going to stand trial for more than 30 charges, I wonder how they are going to write Garrison. I am doubling down on the prediction that one of the specials this summer is going to be Garrison getting arrested. One way they can write themselves out of it is almost using this episode to set up two different Garrisons. It's obvious the two personalities are widely different for the most part, to the point the not-trump version is almost scared of the other. It almost reminds me of Walter/Heisenburg in Breaking Bad. In a South Park kind of way, I would love to see Garrison try to expel the Trump version of himself, and we end up getting two Garrisons. The one they want to write that stays in South Park that has to deal with the Trump version that runs around doing the Trump stuff. I think this would be the PERFECT solution, and I hope that Matt and Trey come up with something along the same lines so they don't have to throw away this new character arc for Garrison.
Also, I am only now getting into South Park, watching it off and on whenever an episode would pop up, but I care so much about Rick cause he seems so wholesome and I have barely any idea of who he is, haha.
Sounds insane... but It's South Park so it fits to be honest. I can see that happening.
We were in Myrtle Beach recently for my stepson's graduation and there was one of those MAGA stores right next to the hotel. I didn't realize they were a whole thing there so that was kind of funny seeing it in South Park. Honestly I was kind of surprised by it's status as a tourist destination too. My perspective of the place was that it was kind of a run down little city with more mini-golf courses than I've ever seen in the same place at the same time.
The bit at the end where Sharon chides Stan at the end was hilarious to me too because it shows that he *was* cutting loose and rebelling that weekend. The one thing he wanted to do that his mom wouldn't let him do was play 40k on the kitchen table. That was him asserting himself and breaking boundaries in the same way that Randy wanted him to. He just couldn't see it because it didn't take a form he related to.
the way you’re able to create so many videos so quickly with such high quality is amazing
I think my favourite thing is how it actually reminds us that randy does love Sharon they really dont show it enough
The Garrison plot was absolutely A tier. Crazy emotional.
Your timing on this episode is insane given current events.
I am sooooooo surprised you didn't pick up on the Chandelier reference!
When Randy is swinging from the chandelier, it's a reference to the song Chandelier by Sia. The song is about someone who numbs their sadness by partying every night. During the chorus she says, "I'm gonna swing from the chandelier; from the chandelieeeerrr"
It's a good, subtle joke.
I giggled for a good five minutes.
OMG, ur timing is perfect with the indictment announcement.
Love Randy response of "yeah you're old enough"
I freaking love how Mr. Garrison visited Myrtle beach. That place is a longtime vacation destination for me.
Found your channel yesterday and I absolutely love the content
i'm LOVING the South Park videos. you got me into it and now i'm obsessed
Me and my dad laughed way too hard at Randy standing on the porch crying as Sharon and Shelly come home.
I really liked this episode it was kind of a mesh of season 20-23 humor but also felt like a classic episode. Really curious to see if the episode quality stays good in season 27 or the specials whatever comes first I guess
I just wish they had some sort of South Park iteration of Joe Biden. Nobody can deny that there’s plenty of material, I bet they could’ve done something really funny with it
Probably waiting for next season or this years or next years P+ specials. But it is kinda weird they aren’t ripping on him. They ALWAYS rip on whoever’s currently president.
@@DragonDonut64 exactly, even JIMMY FALLON has taken shots at Joe Biden. They could easily do a Weekend At Bernie’s parody about the secret service trying to make him seem like a real person or something, the potential is just so good

Great timing!
the timing on this episode was perfect, his indiction and him coming back in the media while president garrison comes back into south park
Season 26 was really good, we recovered the kids stories and there was a better character balance and plots focused more on the characters rather than just the thing is was based on. This one is probably my 3rd favorite of the season, garrison and rick carried this story
This episode is genuinely sweet, I love when we get examples of how well South Park can do genuinely emotional storytelling, loved a lot and almost chocked up during the ending speech
Stan's clearly a man of culture. I bet he has a custom mini based on Wendy somewhere.
Honestly when Rick was introduced I didn't think we'd ever see him again

Why

I really appreciate your reviews! I’m from a country where the streaming wars got the best from South Park. I used to be able to watch the entire season online for free on SP studios, but now I’d have to pay for a crappy streaming service which I absolutely refuse to do. So who knows when I’ll be able to watch the entire season… so I basically watch it through your reviews! lol
Why the fk anyone pay for tv when they paying for internet is beyond stupid.
unless you own a gambling or bar where having paid tv gives something for customers to watch but that counts as a tax write off because counts as business expense
We South Carolinians call it murder beach.
I think the Tate thing will be touched on more in the specials and they’re probably waiting to see how his release from jail will go and what to do with it next, I thought it was a nice touch that they specifically made the woman cop get shot lol
I love seeing Stan and the other characters be big into Table top RPG's. Between this and another episode where the B plot was the girls running a game club I really want a big bombastic Warhammer 40k special or A plot, since the genre is futuristic sci-fi fantasy it'll be different enough from their ye old wizard fantasy from before.
The wine glass garrison is drinking from is purple, is it ‘memberberries?
I would love a retrospective on Canada in South Park. It's not just Terrence & Philip, there is a lore in Canada with its royal family, combatting Saddam Hussein, and yes...Scott.
When Rick was introduced, I really thought their gonna set up some kind of punchline of him and Garrison breaking up and that's that, but here they did establish him actually having a role as someone who grounds Garrison. Heck, we could headcanon that Rick could have been the reason Garrison dropped the Trump persona in the first place. Now I hope we could see him again, and maybe have other stories besides being the boyfriend.
I hope future seasons will have more episodes, 6 episodes are alright but I feel 10 episodes would give them more time to flesh out character arcs and plot threads. Good video
They probably won’t, since they basically just use the specials later in the year as their final 4 episodes of the season
I agree but with the lawsuit from HBO, it's worrying and confusing what the future of South Park will be.
Nah they'll be fine. They might end up releasing more seasons on HBO than they intended to before, but I don't think much will change.
I loved Rick saying “Well I guess we’ll just have to see what happens” I can’t wait to see what the future holds
Trump got indicted today- I wonder if they will make garrison out of that. I’m curious because with trump now being arrested soon will kinda.. I’m interested to see what they do with garrison’s character
If they had any balls at all, they'll portray it for the abortion of justice that it is. Trump literally did nothing wrong, and they are punishing him for nothing. This'll geruntee Trump's win in 2024.
Oh the timing 😂
it was nice to see a location out of Colorado for a change
Great episode. I actually didn't mind them naming the Tate character something else. If you know you knnow, and it doesn't really give the real Tate the extra spotlight he craves. There are plenty of people that watch South Park that would love to support Tate.
I really thought that the episode was going to end with Randy getting a divorce because he endangered Stan's life, glad it didn't though.
One of the main reasons I liked the episode is because I’ve been to Myrtle Beach so many times during my childhood and life and seeing it in South Park felt so nostalgic and a little emotional in a way lol
I am excited to see where they go in the next season, I do hope there can be more than 6 episodes tho haha
I love that Randy’s actions in this episode are natural to his character not just a gag. In the “South Park” Holiday Special Randy is trying to project his actions onto everyone proclaiming “we were all stoked on Columbus back then”.

I think the best thing they could do with Mr. Garrison if Trump does win the election is splitting him in two with some sci-fi/magic shenanigans. Kind of like in Jordan Peeles "Us" or the Rick and Morty Episode inspired by "Us" (S6E4 Night Family). That way they could have Mr. Garrison as the old, outrageous Mr. Garrison while also having him as a stand in for Trump which they need to be able to comment on the politics that would be happening.
I dont know if this was the best episode idea to close the season with
Yes it was
I have to admit, I was hoping the episode would go the INVERSE route with Randy
Where he hated 40k at first but as he hears about all the absolutely metal WTF lore, he gets way way way too into it and starts screaming about Khorne or something. I still think it'd been funnier. I mean just picture the gold of Randy running down the road screaming "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!"
I can see a summer vacation special on the cards
I would like to point out I am listening to this WHILE painting some Warhammer 40k minis
Hopefully the paramount+ specials this year are as interesting as post covid and not as mid as streaming wars
If there's one thing that strikes me about this episode, it's the fact Stan was playing Warhammer with Tolkien. Not any of his regular other friends, especially bombastic Cartman or a more talkative Kyle. There's no major conversation about what's going on with Randy, Stan and Tolkien basically keep to themselves with Stan barely reacting to much of it. And I think that's what makes the B plot all the better. It subtly closes the loop started in the first episode of the season about Tolkien being Stan's friend before making Tik Toks with Kyle, all the while without the business of any of the other season's plot threads. While I'm a little disappointed we don't see any follow up to Kyle controlling Hollywood plot line, I'm glad that Randy basically makes an ass of himself and does all the work, making it just funnier and the message more subtle. Plus, can't beat that end of the episode punchline. Sharon scolding Stan was playing Warhammer on the kitchen table.
Stan plays a Sister army?
HELL YEAH!!
As someone who lives in North Carolina I loved seeing places I've been and stayed before and so close to home in South Park, but since I;n not in the same state I dont feel any of the mocking lol
