The very first South Park Paramount+ special dropped on Thanksgiving and wow was that WILD. If you missed it, or are completely unaware that this special even happened, earlier in the year Matt Stone and Trey Parker signed a massive deal to deliver 14 specials to Paramount+. Yep, FOURTEEN. This is the first one, it’s a full SIXTY minutes long, and they’re delivering another next month, but wow I’m pretty excited about the risks they’re taking with this one. If you missed it, the South Park Post Covid special jumps forward FIFTY years and showcases all the kids from South Park as 50 year olds, and showcases a pretty bleak future. So spoilers ahead, obviously!

FYI future Jimmy is based on the stand up character BERNARD RIGHTON from the 90s.
Still relevant and never surpassed.
His jokes were actually funny tho
This whole episode was about the left vs right battle of information between Matt and Trey, or between them and their family members, and Chyna. They're setting up the fact that China has ruined the world. Not just in the covid sense, but also the co2 pollution and plastic in the ocean and over-fishing and funding animal poaching and deforestation. And of course their openly announced ambitions to overthrow the US. And the way they're threatening to nuke the US and Japan and anyone that tries to stop them from invading and conquering Taiwan. And that's not even mentioning the literal concentration camps in China with slave labor. Mark my words, they're about to drop the mic on China.
the unjabbed arent "screwing you over", bootlicker, we didnt create this virus or the lockdowns which accomplished nothing
I'm glad kenny still kept in contact with butters even when he was in the mental hospital. It show he developed a friendship with him from the Hawaii episode

@@laquanlucas6953 Kenny legit went thru some shit, probably the reason why he is so grounded and cool about practically everything, as long as it does not involve him exploding, combusting, or going to hell, he is probably really happy about everything else!

I love how, even now, after five decades, Randy still doesn't want to admit it really was his fault that the pandemic happened and keeps blaming it on China. It really is like that Randy analysis video Johnny made. Randy's too scared to admit what he did was wrong because he's equally frightened of how others see him. In a way, the Post-Covid Special shows that. Randy put his own feelings first, and that's what tore the Marsh family apart. By refusing to admit what he did and not taking into consideration how his family feels about the damn farm, he's essentially let his insecurities spiral out of control and ruin his family.
even in the future, he still said that Shelley "had a marijuana problem"
But it was chinas fault (youtube, their is context, im talking about SOUTHPARK)
@@eutoob they both did
Now that explains Sharon’s reason on Divorcing Him, She hated living on the farm and she wants to take half of Tegridy Farms to sell it and get enough money to return back to the old house
It’s also likely that he could be murdered if someone found out he started the pandemic
It would be great if Cartman's whole family is in on the joke with him instead of lying to them for decades. It could lead to many elaborate scams and tricks.
This is my head cannon now
The the fact that Cartman would go as far as faking an entire life and faking to be in love with a woman and faking to love his 3 kids just to spite Kyle could be the most evil thing he has ever done. Not on par with feeding a kid his parents tho
@@ssp9980 It would be evil but it wouldn't be very satisfying, since you expect that from Cartman. Imagine how much more twisted it would be if he found a woman just like him and raised children JUST LIKE HIM. That would be way scarier.
Honestly, that's what I'm expecting is going to happen? And it feels like there's small hints to that being the case: his wife's almost complete lack of response to hearing Cartman gave Kyle AIDS; the fact that the girl is literally named "Menorah" (really makes it seem like they just picked the first thing they thought of that was obviously from Jewish culture that sounded vaguely like a girl's name) while the boys have such "over the top" Jewish names as well; how much Cartman is playing up how he's Jewish now, especially whenever Kyle is within earshot (especially the whole thing with the first night his family spends at Kyle's); and the way the kids go from apparently being sweet little angels to being incredibly rude to Kyle specifically pretty much on a dime.
Knowing South Park they probably retcon everything on the 14th special 6 years from now having it be one of Kenny's catpiss fever dreams.
I love how this brings back up the little known fact that Kenny is the biggest Chad and best person in the show.
He had all the fame and wealth, yet still wanted to fix his childhood friendship. Damn :(
He needs a beard that awesome to fight Cthulhu the second time around
a Chad? whats that
He’s a real ladies man.

Huh? South Park has been experimental from the start lmao
mark how did you get it i'm in the eu and i can't even get a paramount acc
It’s not a special, it’s an exclusive event.
-Randy Marsh.
I honestly hope the twist is Cartman really DID change, because if he didn't, it would make the whole thing feel even more pointless, on top of already being a special.
Honestly I feel the same.
No matter what they do, if his whole family is in on it or if Cartman faked being in love for 40 years or so...it would just be predictable.
But than again Cartman is still being a mayor ass right now. I mean he still knows what he did as a kid...so like if he did really change why hasn't he apologized for any of it or shown any shame. Especially with how much he seems to be going out of his way to annoy Kyle, and honestly me too.
A lot of people are saying Cartman became Jewish originally to fuck with Kyle but somewhere along the way actually started believing in the values.
Trust me, whatever it is, the writers will find some way to impress you.
Bruh cartman whole family says f*ck you Kyle at the end I really doubt he’s changed🤣
I thought it was pretty clear at the end when cartman tells his kids that Stan and Kyle want to fix the past, but cartman himself doesnt want that to happen because it would change the happy life that he has now
I love how Jimmy as a talk show host is both a perfect character fit and a jab at the many late night Jimmy's of the 2010s
I honestly really hope that it turns out that Cartman is genuinely Jewish, and he's not just trying to mess with Kyle. Everyone's expecting a big twist where it turns out Cartman dedicated forty years of his life just to piss Kyle off, but I feel like that's too predictable for Cartman. Something I'd love to see in the part two would be Cartman trying to stop the others from going back in time, in an attempt to stay the way he is, and not revert back to the person he was before. That he's actually happy with his family and his faith, and he doesn't want to become the evil, narcissistic Cartman that he was as a kid. That's just my take though, considering that either way, the show is likely going to return to the status quo and have Cartman be Cartman again.
As good as a special is I hope it isn't permanent, the characters have been kids for over 20 years now, so to make them all adults now would be a huge milestone that I'm not ready for.
y'know this theory might actually make sense. The one future where everything goes to shit, and everyone is miserable, Cartman, the one person who's entire being is like he's the spawn of satan himself found purpose and turned his life around in a bleak and hopeless future.
It's as if the whole universe going to shit had that butterfly effect on them all, that in exchange for everyone else being miserable, Cartman converted to Judaism, found himself a loving wife and three kids and actually reformed himself.
something we all thought was impossible for someone who has roleplayed as Hitler or grounded a kid's parents into chili flakes and fed it to him.
Cartman is running a longterm troll.
I would say cartman can pray that time travel works off multi-verse theory but the episode where Cartman freezes himself because he can't wait for the release of a game or console, and travels far into the future would suggest time is linear for the south park universe.
I got a "Tony Stark not wanting to erase his daughter" vibe with Cartman not wanting to change the past.
I LOST IT at the “Covid delta plus rewards program” part!
This is just Trey and Matt taking the piss out of absolutely everything. Kinda like why Futurama is great, this being in the future is a smart move because the idea of “Well, you can’t prove they _won’t_ happen” gives them total freedom with the different concepts.
Moreover from that, these specials have basically been a tale of “How South Park got their groove back” and I love it.
I'll be honest I haven't watched South park in a long while. But this made me laugh a lot
I kinda feel like if this was futurama they would have a bit about mom Corp being behind it as a way to sell more product. The professor would have invented a mini ray gun that you wear that shoots the virus cells before they can get to you.
The reason Butters is in a mental institute is because of all the messed up stuff he's been through. Butters ends up in some pretty awful situations sometimes.
Yeah. Butters has kind of been the punching bag of South Park. Like when he told his mom that his dad went to a gay porno theatre and an all-male bath house and his mom had a breakdown and tried to kill him. Or when Cartman tricked him into believing that the apocalypse had happened so he could go to Casa Bonita instead of him.
@@HeavyMetalBeliever Or when Cartman convinces Butters he's a ghost and he gets railed by the big red thing for 10 hours. And aside from all the extreme stuff, even putting hamburger helpers in the wrong place in the pantry causes his dad to lose it at him.
@@Randomturtle001 Exactly. Butters' parents are so volatile that anything can make them lose it.
Either that or he's just grounded.
@@davosholdos1253 He is permanently grounded in the institute
I would like to see Butters become genuinely dangerous this time. Professor Chaos was never all that dangerous. Butters was Kenny's asisstant in this meaning this isn't the niave Butters we knew before. Butters has gotten a lot smarter and deadlier. He would also have a personal grudge against most of the main characters for all the torment he was put through.
Oh yes make Butters evil like Hans Landa 😈
Or he’s evil to everyone *but* Stan, Kyle, and maybe Cartman and talks more like classic butters.

I was looking forward to seeing Adult Ike who would basically be a Terrence clone.
I was also wondering what happened to Ike. Maybe he moved to Canada
In the special, it sucks how Cartman gets a better adult life than Kyle.
He gets a better adult life than *most* of the kids, honestly...
I think Stan's future was the one the hit the most for me lmao, it sucks to see that in all his bitterness he just became a second Randy.
The way the episode ended really made me feel like he was basically planning on doing this just to make Kyle EXTREMELY angry.
Where else would Cartman be? It plays into his personality. Shallow manipulators get ahead.
I hope in Part 2, Kyle’s going to give Cartman the Biggest Beatdown he’ll ever experience, heck maybe even kill him
Adult Kyle is still one of the coolest out of the adult three though. Really he's only missing a family.
He's definitely the most attractive out of them all. Ngl, I would🔥🔥🔥
I love what Matt and Trey are doing. I think they have completely gave the series new life. Like you said being completely different yet still South Park. They are willing to spin their show in different directions and play in the world they created. And it really works with a show like South Park.
I’m confident that Matt and Trey can continue playing with new ideas with South Park like this for years to come and maybe surpass the Simpsons one day in being the longest show running. My mom hates South Park, it’s not her kind of show, but I had her watch this episode and she even said “this was really good”. For the first time I think my mom actually really likes South Park. And that is something special that I don’t know of people realize yet that the show is not just retaining old audiences but bringing in new ones and doing it successfully at Season 24/ special event
I agree!
The only thing is that while South Park might end up running for more years than Simpsons (maybe) they have always made substantially fewer episodes per season, so I think there’s a 0% chance they catch up to their episode count. South Park is sitting just over 300 episodes, Simpsons is over 700
@@Johnny2Cellos that episode count though. 😮
Southpark is a wholesome gem
It’s like South Park: All Grown Up 😂

I think butters is just going to be a normal dude chilling and his parents put him there because he was playing to be Dr chaos
I do like this theory, though it doesn't entirely explain the legal name change he had to have undergone in order to be recognized as Victor Chaos. Though it could just be chalked up to him disliking his birth name, considering that he preferred being called Butters rather than Leopold.
I could totally see him handling himself well in the insane asylum. Being locked in a cell probably doesn't feel that different from being locked in his room all the time.
Nah i hope he's batshit insane from all the years of constant abuse he's had from his parents and his friends. Makes sense if he worked hard with Kenny to build a time machine to go back and "undo events"
Judging by the way Cartman's children start to have an adverse reaction to being around Kyle, I think Cartman really did change. I think in the next special they'll continue that and as Cartman stays around Kyle more and more he will revert to original Cartman. Basically, Cartman is a dick because of Kyle
Dude that'd be an epic twist.
I like this. I was thinking they were genetically predisposed to dislike Kyle
@@evergreenrider I'm pretty sure they are, when they move into Kyle's house it isn't until they've been around him for a bit until he starts making his kids feel "crazy" and they don't know why
I feel like when Kenny goes back and repairs their friendship, it will turn Carman back into an asshole in a Monkey's Paw style twist.
Wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened. Think back to some of the people who got resurrected thanks to Kenny undoing the events of the Canadian-American war in the movie. Bill Gates proceeds to cause a bloodbath between PS4 and Xbox One fans, on top of murdering the Sony President. And Mr. Garrison not only becomes the US President, but proceeds to nuke Canada--effectively killing even MORE people than the CA war in the movie. Though, considering this was a deal made with Satan himself, I can't help but feel like this was intentional on the creators' part.
Agreed. That is why Cartman did not want the reversal to happen as he was afraid it would make him his old self and his family would not exist.
7:38-7:44 I honestly don’t see Jimmy not having a career that doesn’t involve comedy and being in front of a studio audience. Jimmy being a talk show host makes pretty sense.💁
also funny how he has been a comedian since always and he ends up as a talk show host the same time where there's two jimmy's on tv, its like the history is written around south park
@@finkretana two jimmys, and James cordon, so 3 jimmies
Wow what a great audience
Damn this paramount plus exclusive event was epic! That cliffhanger though, but I kinda expect Butters to actually be mostly normal and because of how strict and stupid his parents were, they locked him up in the insane asylum when they caught him playing Professor Chaos thinking he was actually deranged
Honestly, watching this special reminded me a lot of Season 6 of South Park. In fact, a lot of aspects can be traced back to Season 6. Kenny previously dying and not coming back, leaving his friends to find their own ways to cope with his loss (A Ladder to Heaven), seeing future versions of the characters (My Future Self and Me), not to mention the name change Butters underwent, as Professor Chaos's first appearance was in Season 6.
I'm really interested to see where this is going to go. What truly *did* push Butters over the edge, to the point where he fully embraced his Chaos persona and is now institutionalized? Will the boys even succeed at replicating the time travel Kenny underwent? Would the New Kid possibly help with that, given that they also possess the ability to travel back in time? Moreover, given that Carol has hit menopause--effectively preventing Kenny from ever getting reborn again--would he even *want* to be brought back? I don't know, but I want to know. This has become very, very interesting.
My hope, Kenny fixes the boys relationship but only after the writers run out of ideas for the current continuity. This way we can get the outcome of them splitting until it is no longer interesting. Old Kenny pops up saving the future and completing the loop for the special.
South Park has meh continuity.
It’s not a special, is an exclusive event
Would be cool if, instead of Old Ken showing up at the end of the adult series, he just occasionally pops up in the background of the kids’ lives when we go back - watching from afar and making sure his friends stay together all the way through his twilight years.
My hot take. This episode has a greater message about blame. It's basically what Kyle said to his mom in the movie, "You go off and blame everybody else. But I'm the one to blame." We need to take responsibility instead of blaming everyone else.
As the world gets crazier with more things out of our control, it's easy to blame the world around us. And this special has more than enough examples of that. Some of the blame is justified, but others are outright ridiculous:
- Kyle and Token are quick to assume that Kenny was murdered.
- Stan and Randy both blame each other for the Tegridy Farms tragedy.
- Kyle is convinced Cartman is "f***ing with him". Focusing too much on a stupid joke than the task at hand.
- Everyone singles out Clyde as the unvaccinated one.
- Jimmy blames woke culture for making comedy difficult instead of coming up with new jokes.
- Randy blames 'Chy-nuh' for America losing its way.
- The morgue scene is literally Stan and Kyle spitting out all their blame of each other. In an already disgusting scene.
- Even Kenny blamed his friends for 'everything going wrong'. So much so that he got himself and many scientists killed to stop it all.
- On the contrast, Cartman is no longer in his victim mindset and is actually happy. (But he's definitely f***ing with Kyle).
However, it's like Kyle says at the end. They should've solved their problems instead of fighting each other. The world is f***ing crazy. It's been crazy since life first walked on it. But if you let all the craziness govern your life and make yourself a victim, you'll end up a jaded washout like Stan and Kyle. South Park has always been about individuals taking control, and this special is no different!
Edit: Clyde also blames f***ing shellfish for not getting the vaccine. I should've mentioned that.
Totally underrated comment, and I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. No one wants to admit responsibility these days and it seems as though Matt and Trey are extrapolating this mindset into our possible future. People keep pushing for easy targets when they get hurt rather than stopping to think critically about the world around us and asking themselves:
- how much of this was my responsibility, and
- what could I have done differently?
I have to agree with Jimmy. If you have to be 100% inoffensive in your comedy to avoid being "cancelled", you're basically limited to puns.
Jimmy's kinda right tho
Can you blame Kyle?
Yea Clyde is the single man out. What’s your point?
Kenny sudden death after researching the pandemic, yes it does seem suspicious
@@debrah8110 Here's another speculation. I didn't understand what Kenny actually accomplished when he went back in time, since the timeline didn't really change. But now I have an idea. Because comedians can’t tell jokes without offending people, people being forbidden to eat meat, police are out of a job, old people are forced to live in retirement homes, cryptocurrency is the new form of spending and kids are spending most of their time on vrs instead of socializing? I mean I agree with you that the future in the post covid special is hell.
Frankly, I'd be happy if they went back to the status quo. We haven't gotten South Park just being South Park in way too long with the last 5 or 6 seasons being nothing but experimenting. Besides, the new mini movie format is more than enough to mix things up as it is.
I agree! I think that specials are a great place to experiment, and I think the idea of a time skip fits really well into the show, but I kind go want the *MAIN SERIES* to go back to a semi-normal version of what it once was. I think that Tegridy Farms and the focus on Randy and the adults as main characters has kind of caused the show to lose some of what made it great. The kids and their relationship is what kept me coming back to the show, not that dumb adults.
Kind of like archer, by the time they went back to the status quo i sort of got jaded.
I agree, South Park is a comfort show for me, while I did enjoy this special I'd just be really sad to see it continue, I want a part 2 but to bring an end to the future south park. Whenever a new south park season releases it gets to be one of the highlights of my year and I don't think this new format is going to be able to replace the status quo.
the whole paramount thing feels like a setup for south park to return to what it used to be, tbh, and i don't really mind that, at this point i don't think matt and trey are experimenting anymore, they're doing a full-fledged story now.
I honestly long to see that too, but in the end I'm fine with how things are. Matt and Trey are getting older, and they've established that they dont want to keep up the show much longer for their sakes. If it was all up to them, they would have rolled it to a close by now. But now they're working hard again to make more content, and if it's different and experimental, then hey, that's just fine. The show is legendary either way
I think the majority of fans would not be disappointed if the boys go back in time and fix things and the show goes back to its original TV formatting of ten, hell, 14 episodes like it used to be. That's how most people got into South Park anyway. The idea of them as adults is fun, and it was a fun episode. But killing Sharon and Shelly that way and Stan being blamed for it by fucking Randy was tough. So I hope Stan is able to save his mom and sister in the next 'event'. Other than that, it was a really good post-covid episode.
Nailed it, but that's the joke. Randy's demons tell him he is right. It doesn't mean it happened that way!!!
You talked about "unvaxxed screwing the rest of us" yet someone being unvaxxed should be of no concern to you as long as you are vaxxed

When Stan and Randy are in the barn to get the missing "exclusive event," it's important to note that there are only footprints walking away from where he had it stored, none towards.
Unvaccinated people are not the reason we are still in this pandemic. There is a whole lot more to it unfortunately. But I love the way Trey and Matt make fun of both sides of the issue.
agreed
One reason why I love this show, they poke fun at everyone.
Honestly I’m getting the feeling that they are gonna keep going with the meta aspect of it like they finally achieve time travel at the end of the next special and after that we go to the past to revisit moments and add a new light to them like visiting the past and being shown things you didn’t see in the past. Idk I liked how meta this special was if they keep up with the self referencing while also keeping it subtle enough they are gonna be top tier South Park pieces.
This winds up bringing up something else that came to mind. If they go back in time to see previous events, then they'll most likely wind up witnessing some of Kenny's previous deaths, and provided that they jump forward before the curse can activate, they'll be able to retain their memories of it happening. It seems like this could be the only way for them to see for themselves that Kenny was telling the truth about his immortality--or rather, former immortality.
I like how they made fun of paramount plus with the premium everything jokes.
I smiled through the whole movie. I was 5 years old when I first saw the first movie. im 26 now and I was somewhat saddened to see everyone as adults but for a long time I wanted to see what they would be like. These guys are like childhood friends to me.
I kinda think it’s funny how they make fun of the future having “+” all over it, but then they do this LOL
Did anybody else catch the part where just before Kenny goes back in time, one of his scientist yells out, “You forgot your chin-diaper!” (mask). Kenny then comes back from the past and starts coughing… lol
I didn’t watch the special first, so when I saw Cartman it caught me so off guard I had to pause and laugh for like 2 minutes😂
If the government is so empowered it shuts down a whole town for one guy without a vaccine is Clyde really the butt of the joke? Or is it the people reacting to him?
I liked the vid btw. It displays the nuance of South Park. Two people can appreciate the joke for different reasons because the writers dont like to full on pick sides and keep the satirical spirit. They still got it all these years later and you gotta love em' for that.
It’s both
Clyde is also still alive shouldn't he have died from covid? and he's smart enough not to get tricked by Wendy.
@@Johnny2Cellos I mean, both infection rate and deaths have gone up since we started vaccinating... Soo bring on more vaccines, I guess?
The singing doorbell must be ripped from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy in which the spaceship doors have Genuine People Personality and are overjoyed to open and close.
I just want to see what they do with the siblings Ike, Kevin and Karen (possibly Shelley and Scott?)
Maybe Karen is a nurse and/or a volunteer at the mental hospital where Butters is (mostly because I have no idea how it would all tie together otherwise)
Maybe she can be a surrogate for Kenny since Carol is too old to give birth to him again
I’m betting Kevin is either in the mental health field as a recovering alcoholic or a full blown drunk like his father
Ike is probably an ambassador to Canada and the states since he was always trying to follow his Canadian roots but still very much an American. Also it would be an excuse to get more Canada gags again
Um... Shelley died, don't you remember? Unless they wind up undoing her death alongside Kenny's if they successfully replicate time travel.
I actually think Karen is more of a Martial Artist in the future.
Did anyone else get BoJack vibes when they stated “here in the future”
The Post Covid special was the most I've been invested in South Park since the superhero trilogy, to be honest.
Coming in here as Kenny's #1 fan
This special was great and some scenes were amazing. Can't wait for next month's special!
The reveal that Stan burned down Tegridy Farms and accidentally killed Shelly, which cost Sharon to kill herself was shocking. Really a sad and tragic fate for the Marsh family.
The scene with Kyle wishing for someone (like Mr. Hankey) to help them was funny, but also confusing considering Kyle and Mr. Hankey didn't leave on good terms the last time they saw each other.
When the scene with Kenny trying to time travel happend i thought that the experiment had simply gone wrong and that's what killed him, but instead it worked.
Rabbi Cartman is really funny and personally i think him becoming jews maybe because of his new wife and family.
Also the reveal of Victor Chaos being Butters was pretty clever if you remember Professor Chaos. Does make me wonder if this means that Butters has gone crazy in the future or did someone put him there?
Characters I wanted to see in the special but weren't were Ike, Timmy, PC Principal's Kids & Butters. Thankfully, the latter was teased perfectly in the last scene of the special & most likely will appear in the next one (Hopefully, along with General Disarray?). Don't know about the others though?
Edit: I hope Future Cartman ends up using the Time Machine to meet his past self & it ends up tying into the end of the episode, "Me & My Future Self"
finally someone who wants to see Ike !! i find it interesting that kyle lives alone in south park, so i wonder if Ike moved back to cananda or is he some successful traveller now..... as for the PC family, i remember seeing either strong woman or one of her children grown up during kenny's funeral
Great Breakdown, loved the Post-COVID Special, absolutely great writing.
I actually have a theory about this deal with the specials. And that is this isn't going to be a two-parter, but rather a proper trilogy. Spoilers for those who haven't seen Post-Covid.This special acts as the first act, setting up the world, it's characters, and introducing us to the inciting incident that sets the plot into action. At the end of the special, the guys make their decision to set the plot of the second special into motion. The one we're getting next month will most likely be the second act, raising the stakes and getting the characters passed the point of no return. I predict that it may be about putting Kenny's notes together in order to time travel. The subplot this one can introduce is Randy's mission to recreate the cure and possibly sabotage the guy's mission. Victor Chaos will be fully revealed by this point, possibly as the twist in the third act, and the guys will be just starting to head to the past at the end as the 2nd act low point. Finally, we get one last special, possibly in January, to act as Act 3, doing the time travel mission, which will lead to the climax and finally the resolution of the whole thing. Maybe they'll address the 4th Wall stuff in this act, and hopefully they repair their relationship with Butters as well as Kenny. Again, just a theory, but I think this set-up will make for a great trilogy.
Absolutely would be happy to see these specials continue as experiments or one offs. I think it would be great to see them focus on the crazy cast they have
I loved this special!
Didn't see the ending twist when we see the name "Victor Chaos" in the asylum coming. My jaw hit the floor and left a dent there.
Dude I'm unvaxxed and live in the fuckin woods how is this my fault .
I don't even leave the house
I was very pleasantly surprised by this special. I had some weird expectations going in, wasn’t sure how I’d like the aged-up characters, but I think the story worked really well, and I cannot wait for Part 2 in December!
Why worry about the dislikes. CZcams removed the counter because the community asked them to right?
He's not, dislikes still help the video he's just being snide to anti vaxxers who get triggered easily.
Im just curious why you think people that dont have a vax are crazy since we got 4 covids now? I mean just keep gettin them boosters i guess. Sorry you think you need to call people out for not wanting a vax that is a little sketchy.
they really need to tie this in with the cthulhu plot line and kenny's immortality
I like the special itself but I'm a little concerned how everything will turn out. We're talking about a show that's characters have been kids for over 20 years, seeing them all grown up like this is a huge milestone but I'm not sure if I'm ready for, which is why I'm hoping it's not a permanent change.
the scary part is that we could end up like that
If cartman becoming a rabbi is indeed one last long term prank, then I hope his family is in on it, instead of him having to deceive them too.
It would be such a good twist if cartman and his wife met and fell in love over having a similar dark sense of humor.
Stans life got so bad because randy wanted to grow weed. I do think randy is at fault and stan was just trying to find a way to cope or solve the main problem unlike the time he made a heavy metal band to deal with tegridy farms
The reason why South Park is so clever with their jokes is that there's always a joke about society at large underneath the arc of the episode. More specifically if they make a joke about a single person not being vaccinated and that causing a quarantine in South Park, the joke is about people not getting vaccinated but it's also possibly how crazy it might be to lock down after one case of covid. At the end of the day the joke is that people care so much either way. And this epsiode is filled with examples of that, this would just use the one you're talking about. Like at the end of the day all of their jokes have the common denominator of people are stupid for caring so much about what it is they believe, the idea being that nothing matters and who the hell cares. Very nihilistic but like.... yeah that's people at our core. We don't have a purpose so we invent purposes and saying that any person's one purpose is more important than someone else's is silly. And then the creators of South Park just piss on everything.
South park acknowledges where we live (a society)
I used to hate South Park, though it was crudeness for crudeness sake. Once you learn that they make fun of everything and nothing is off limits do you understand the show. I in no way stay current with the show but I'm happy to hear when the show is doing good and is actually funny.
Thought it was a 40 year jump
It is, I misspoke
@@Johnny2Cellosit's alright, just a small mistake
Honestly, I believe that Cartman at first was going to do a long con against Kyle for breaking up their friend group and making them all have to go through email for Kenny. He started by learning everything he could about the Jewish faith, even becoming a priest (cant remember the actual term I'm sorry)
But I believe him meeting Yentel and having a family actually changed him. I believe his kids taught him how to change so he could he a good father to them. I believe Cartman actually found god and redemption, or at least has changed for the good like most bullies do when they grow up.
So it's both he planned for this and didnt plan for this.
The word you are looking for is “Rabbi” ☺️
I think most bullies grow up to be shitheads.
I mean, where do you think adult shitheads come from?
@@libertatemadvocatus1797 I don't really agree. I think this is wishful thinking from an outsider or bullied kids experience where they always "want" bullies to lose and become raging unsuccesfull douchebags. But in reality they probably grow up, get a decent job, start a family, and become good fathers to their sons.
There are probably exceptions as with all things, but to think that everyone becomes an "back to the future" style garbage man? Nah.
My jaw actually dropped when I read "Chaos, Victor". I cannot believe I didn't put that together. An excellent special overall, and another great J2C vid. Thanks!
The great thing about this special is like you said Johnny, it didn't restore the status quo. And Kenny fighting to restore their friendship is just so much in line with Kenny's character. Also you're not alone Johnny, considering I didn't even think about Butters. I eagerly await the next special
I think the joke behind Jimmy's comedy is that they're taking "It's funny because it's true!" to it's logical conclusion.
Kenny being John McAfee is the best part of the episode for me
yes!
3:10 "if South Park has taught me anything is that Cartman never changes"
Shows a scene where Cartman having a change of heart literally whike saying this
This felt like the series finale with all of them grown up lol
Matt and Trey make fun of anti-vaxxers. Also throw a hundred jokes about leftist policies. Woke culture, abolishing police, homelessness, etc
I absolutelly loved the special! I wouldn't mind more specials with grown-up characters. But the only issue is that it is set in the future - you can't satirize too much about something that hasn't hapened yet 😅 If only it was set in the present... But whatever they make, I'm so excited for all 14 specials and probable 2 film-arcs each year.
I want them to return to the old format though, where arcs were 1 - max 3 episodes. I love complete stories which you can watch out of a context of all season. It makes episodes memorable and special.
i really liked the special. i was so excited when i saw professor chaos' name :D
I still think the future South Park is just one of the boys trapped in the oculus
I know that it was meant to be comedy/satire, but I was genuinely invested in the mystery and relationship stuff. Like you, Kenny's my favorite character and my favorite episodes are the ones where Kenny's death is plot-relevant rather than just a gag in the third act. I can't wait to find out where this is headed.
Looks like South Park has took the Rugrats direction. Make an event that centres on the main characters at an older age. Works every time as a great one-off.
-what are the round knit hats that various public servants are wearing?
-why is Strong Woman in some of the crowd scenes, seemingly not having aged? One of the PC babies?
I didn't notice when I watched the special but rn, that part with Jimmy getting powder patted on his face I think the make up guy is James Charles which is funny asf 😂
The whole episode is a look at the devastating effects that current day attitudes will have on the world. If you notice Stan, Kyle and the others are constantly looking for someone else to blame instead of doing something to solve the problems they have. The moment when something difficult arises they instantly want to avoid addressing it like when Kyle and Stan start blaming each other and agree not to talk about it or when Stan just runs out on everyone in the church. It's because of "woke" mentalities that they can't address anything controversial or difficult. Jimmy's reluctance to make any controversial joke extends to literally off stage and into the real world where he can't say anything bad about the president who I'm assuming is transgendered because of the name. Our world has already become that parody, just look at what happened to Dave Chappelle. Some of what's in the episode isn't just bleak, it's reality. People are over emotional and looking for others to blame instead of dealing with problems reasonably. The whole defund police was apart of that mentality. People didn't have an understanding of the system or a working solution to the problem that existed instead all they wanted to do was throw blame around and cause even more harm than good. They wanted to paint a whole system as bad and disregarded the individuals that made up that system. The episode also shows us a disbanded police department followed by a killing that's ignored and has become normalized. I think the episode should have put more of that as well. In fact without an authorized system the city would be looking far worse. There would be vandalized buildings and graffiti all over. Vehicles broken into, Speeding, Gang wars, stealing etc. It would be Anarchy, which was always a ridiculous system where the only ones who believed in it were the ones that are selfishly motivated. The ones who don't want to be told what to do and would commit half of that list I just made.
literally nothing happened to Dave Chappelle, he just made a metric shitton of money and some people criticized him when he was punching down. That was the whole thing.
@@christianasch9176 once again people tried to cancel somebody over something stupid or nuanced and push him to apologize but it didn't work this time. Even the school went ahead and ignored the petition to rename the theater something other than Chappelle. If you're going to comment, next time contribute something of value instead of willfully ignoring current events. Most people are tired of the bullshit cancel games and targeting people who don't deserve it just because they subjectively found what the person did or said offensive. The immaturity needs to end.
@@AmazingKevinWClark
Just as Dave has a right to say whatever he wants people also have a right to say whatever they want.
And again, nothing happened. Dave has his millions of dollars and people were able to express their viewpoints.
@@christianasch9176 Except there's a difference between voicing an opinion and demanding people into silence to satisfy your subjectivity. It's not about the outcome of the situation but the unjustified situation that was started in the first place and how it's become a common abused tool to get your own way. It's utterly disgusting and some of the worst behavours in humanity today. As I said very immature behavour.
Not to mention that eating meat is illegal and that old people are forced into retirement homes for all eternity.
I wonder if Stan (accidentally) burning Shelly to death is a reference to a deleted scene from season 1 where Shelly sets Stan on fire?
I’m so glad the next one is coming so soon!!!
I have a theory…. What if the reason Kenny dies all the timeand always comes back is bexause he actually time travels before it even happens.
I don't like how split up the show is. I want it all on one streaming service. They're already rich as hell, why cut more new deals?
I thought the south park post covid special was very great and interesting to see on paramount plus 🌟
"it tells half a story" yeah, because it's part 1 of a 2 parter
Why no one's talking about Alexa being a nagging wife? Literary one of the best concepts in the episode and also great parody of Bladerunner 2049!
