You should read Raja Ram Mohan Roy’s letter to the Asiatic society arguing against the Gurukal system and in favour of a Western education. History is not likely to be ever recorded absolutely objectively. In spite of great intellectual honesty a certain amount of authors' bias is bound to creep in. History can never be completely comprehensive too. It will contain more records that align with authors bias. But one thing is for sure, this bias is likely to more pronounced in the historians who champion the cause of those who did not participate in India's freedom struggle. I think that should be quite obivious.

I had some elder relatives in the INA led by Netaji who were never inducted into the Indian Army after we attained independence. They lived a life of indignity and pittance as the then ruling political party branded them as antisocials who in the name of INA created disharmony in the society. The British massacred INA POWs in thousands in an area called Neelgunge, near Belghoria in the suburbs of Kolkata which none mentions. There are similar brutal incidents that happened in Budge Budge, near Kolkata during the Naval rebellion.
