At 61 I’m in better shape than at 51. I started working out daily a year ago. I feel amazing. I’m having time of my life dressing up. I no longer want to cover myself up. Just an hour a day on the treadmill works wonders! I’ve gone from a size 6 to a 2. I have a waistline again. Everything looks better. Even my arms. There’s hope for us all at any age. 💃

Thank you so much for this video! I'm an unusual rectangle in that I have a large bust so I have to be careful when choosing pieces. A lot of garments that fit my bust are massively too big for my torso and hips. Since taking your eCourse and learning to look for shirt dresses (and wrap dresses) I've added a load of flattering dresses to my wardrobe - including a number from Boden. One other thing that makes shopping Boden attractive is that they include the *actual garment dimensions!!!* for each size - so I can see in advance if a piece will fit my bust AND my torso. That's been a game change for me!
A lot of Sezane's dresses seem well designed for rectangle shapes - the Adele is lovely and I can attest that there's plenty of room in the bodice.

@@kimberlyperrotis8962 Oh I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that I"m not the only one :-) haha I feel a bit lonely in the shops sometimes as it feels like almost nothing is designed to fit me. Oh well, I'd bet most women feel that way. My S-I-L is a pear and she struggles to find pants that ever fit her waist.

I have the black J. Crew dress. Bought it in early Spring. Very well made in a timeless style. A bit long for a petite. I am 5.2. I am still debating with myself whether to have it shortened a few inches .

I absolutely loved the blue Boden shirt dress also the blue square neckline Banana Republic, such lovely colours. The fit and flare navy blue Banana Republic is a wow! 💙💙💙

I love these dresses. Several CZcams channels emphasize that women over 50 should avoid prints, except the currently over used narrow stripe. Thank you for showcasing feminine patterns. These are summery, elegant and will never be out of style.
There are some florals that should be avoided but the trick is to find pretty prints that are not gaudy 😃 I hope that feminine will never be out of style 🙏

Such a lovely pick, they all provide the much desired waistline. That white broderie anglaise dress from Mango is so cute and I'm so glad I've got a similar one from Next last summer fully lined as well. This feels like it’s just for me, I’m definitely a rectangle shape! I was always an hourglass, then around menopause my waist just thickened and thickened, but my weight is the same as on my wedding day almost 40 years ago! Not just styling, but even just finding any clothes that fit at all is tricky. My hips are narrow, so I never had much luck with trousers, even with my 4-inch smaller, youthful waist. I wear almost entirely skirts and dresses instead. Thanks, dear Marie-Anne❤❤❤

This was my favorite episode of all time I think. How lovely are most all of these dresses. I wasn’t sure that I had a square body shape until seeing this.
I’ve always been told since youth that I look good in a fit’n’flair dress. Now I understand why. I have a definite waist line but wouldn’t consider myself hourglass shaped. These shapes of dresses create that feminine definition I enjoy wearing. So nice to see these fresh looks. Thank You for the pleasure today. ❤🇺🇸🙋♀️

I looked for the navy fitted dress from
Banana Republic but missed out on the six 6. It is also sold out in most store as well. Very popular dress.
I went ahead and ordered the dress in pink as this is another colour that suites my colouring. I’m anxious to receive it and try to accessorize it. I have a beautiful navy sweater that would look fabulous with the dress. I am working on my wardrobe and having fun building up my pieces, thanks to your help.

I am more of an inverted triangle. I like shirt dresses and bought a vertical striped shirt dress from Banana Republic in neutral colors. Instead of wearing the self-tie that comes with the dress, I wear either a natural or navy colored woven belt that matches the stripes in the dress to bring in the waist.

I recently bought three dresses. They are very similar to those shown in your video. One is a white broderie anglais dress which I will wear with a belt. I also have a broderie anglais jacket. I bought sandals to match the belt which is brown. The second dress is in a green tropical print and the third dress is for cooler days. It has a black bodice, long sleeves and the skirt is green with a black pattern on it. I just hope we get good weather to wear them this year.

White dress cut does not truly work when you have less highlighted waist line. Every time I am tempted to buy this style of the dress, but always return as the waist cut is too high on my torso, and the dress makes me look pregnant. I tried with a belt, but because of the high cut the position of the belt has to be too high. I think that a dress without any cut in the middle works the best. Overall, enjoy your videos and suggestions 😊
I have a relatively short torso so sometimes find this a problem too - especially when I try petites. Sometimes the petite model is too short for my torso,, but the standard size is too long 🙄 Oh well, paying attention to fit like this, just means we have more money for the wow pieces that do work - and fewer mistake pieces taking up space in our closets!

I've found some similar dresses in Ross store last week (US sizes 16-18). Some are pure cotton, others are cotton/polyester mix, ranging from $16-25 dollars. The downside is that you'll have to dig through a lot of weird dresses to find them, but that makes the reward of finding one (or more) great dresses even sweeter. 😀👗

I tried on that black JCrew dress, and it is beautiful. I never wear black (or the pure white or olive green that is offered on their website) because I am blond and very fair. There are no tones that work for me in these dresses. Black and white are so popular this year! Sometimes dressing is so complicated. Square necklines, for example, aren't the most flattering cut on an oblong face. Really love that you are focusing on body shape! Great video!

I’m following up regarding the banana republic tie bodice dress. I ordered the pink one and
it is beautiful. The size 6 fits well. I was visiting a friend in Montreal last week and she
took me to a mall that sold banana republic clothes and to my surprise I was able to find
the lovely dress in my size in the navy blue colour! I was so excited as this dress was completely
sold out online. Now I have to decide if I will keep the pink one or send it back. They are
such elegant dresses. I guess the navy dress was meant to be found.

One problem with these dresses for petite. They come to the mid calf which is a no-no. Makes me look like a munchkin.

The first time I raised a hem myself, it was scary and time consuming. But I'm great at it now, and I have saved probably thousands of dollars. A sewing machine is one of the most important items in my wardrobe. I can make less expensive items look more luxurious with a little bit of home tailoring.

Not that first Banana Republic dress; is it bra-friendly? Also, Banana Republic sizes run small.
It os bra friendly - it will hide the straps very nicely. There is a slight cleavage to the dress but nothing terribly plunging
Thanks for that but if you have no waist especially with that beautiful black dress, the waist bunches up. I feel that you have to have a waist in order to wear them.

Too many of these dresses are sleeveless and many can't be worn with a bra. For women over fifty? I don't think so.
I included two with sleeves and several can be worn with bras Judy. As a woman over 60 and a Rectangle I would wear them all 🙂
You can get beautiful skin coloured strapless bras as well as backless bras that would be less likely to be detectable.
