Thank you for keeping track of this confusing issue, Bruce. Greeting from Canada !!
Thank you so much! I literally was just looking around tonight for what the hell was going on with Amtech flux, and now I know! Crazy to think it lined up the way it did for you to have uploaded this only a few hours ago! Can't wait to try out the Stirri V3!
Useful info. Thanks, Bruce!
Oh finally!
Well, what an ouste review!
Thank you for the update! Stirri fluxes are awesome! 👌
Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing your follow up video.
Doing the tedious background work that we all get to benefit from, thank you! Looking forward to the full comparison!
Wow, what a morass. Good on you for keeping up with it! Looking forward to the run-down!
Love the fluxgate series.
You are doing God’s work sir, thank you!
Just recently got a bottle of their Hydra formula and looking forward to giving it a shot sometime.
I was really impressed by the HydraMA tacky flux.
Thanks for the info. Loved it.. before this video I order a V3 and an ASM 30g kits so can't wait to try them out.
Excellent video.....waiting on the next one from you. It was very confusing before but looks like Stirri gets my next order
1:46 they did not reply to my query. Well, there's your answer right there Bruce.
Ty Bruce!
Congrats on the selection of fluxes. Looking forward to the test. Could you do a second video with effectiveness of IPA and common cleaning agents in ability to clean the flux away. ie What Stirri recommend compared with cheap stuff IPA 60%, 90%, 99% and commercial flux cleaners.
That's alotta kinds of flux to go through!
Holy flux
Looking forward to the comparison.
Yeah STIRRI ASM is really good
stirri is using shopify to ship directly, not cheap at all, 1 tube $12 with $24 shipping (to canada), however, it is direct to consumer! I am absolutely pissed at amtech distribution and had some fake sent to me, so honestly this is great news, even if it's expensive, at least to have the real deal!
They seem to be on Amazon Canada as well. 30g ASM TF is 22.68 + 5.21 shipping.
i'd love to know best use cases for all different kinds, and the odor they release.
I've kept notes on the odour, and the best use cases are described on the Stirri website. I've been testing them with the sort of hand soldering I do, but unfortunately I can't really test them much further than that.
👍
Hi there, the StirriASM is probably my favourite, but I am releasing a video shortly where I test out a whole bunch of different fluxes and provide my opinion on them.
what kind of flux cleaner do you pair with this flux? do you clean the flux off the board after use?
For every kind of ROL0/ROL1 flux I've used (including ASM, V3, as well as MG 8341), I find the best way to clean it is to wipe off as much residue as you can with a dry paper towel or cotton swab, and only afterwards clean it with alcohol or MG 4140 flux remover. If you go straight for a flux cleaner you end up spreading it all over the board.
How are you supposed to use those syringes without a plunger?
They come with a plunger.
Haven't you heard of the flux tube challenge?
What's that?@@pomprocks
FAR OUT Muffin Man!!
