    I got one of these (the non-pro model) a few months back, and just haven't had time to put it through its paces. But your introduction is so clear and comprehensive that it surely must become the goto place to learn what the new gizmo will do. Now I can't wait to get my Ferret plugged in. I've also got a recent M1 Mac Mini, so my toolset ought to be reasonably complete. Thanks for the great video. Roll on Part 2!

    Brilliant video, I think I might pull the trigger on one of these. Looking forward to part 2 and seeing how two scans stitch together.

    Excellent video m8, appreciate the transparency of the review. I've had my Ferret since late last year and had almost given up on it. I updated everything tonight and it seems to work MUCH better now. Like you said, it still takes a fair amount of trail and error to get good results, but worth it in the end.

    I've experimented with 3D scanning on a cellphone. I want to eventually get a 3D Scanner Camera so I can make my own asset creations into my own 3D projects.

    Незаменимая штука для тех, кто занимается 3D-моделированием и визуализацией, но не владеет навыками художника и скульптора. Да и цена вполне демократическая для этого класса устройств!🙂👍

    Have a question hoping you can answer about the software. I haven’t had much luck finding any answers online and Creality email support has left me hanging. I got the new Raptor installed the software on my M2 Pro and on initial startup it asks me for a password for permissions. I enter my admin password and it says it’s incorrect. I tried this on a 2016 Macbook like you and my 2017 iMac Pro and same thing happens on every computer. It will not accept my admin password. Have any ideas what could be causing this?

    I see the Ferret Pro has a 5000mAh battery while the Ferret has a smaller 4500mAh capacity.
    Are there any other differences in the actual scanner unit? eg: better optical sensors?
    They are bragging about having black, shiny, and metal object scanning capabilities now. Is this the same for the Ferret (plain)?

    • @BranchusCreations
      @BranchusCreations  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I only have the Ferret Pro in my possession, so I can't be 100% certain, but based on the specs of scan volume, accuracy, working distance etc. (and from looking at the pictures) I believe the scanner itself is the same across all three models. The Ferret SE is only designed to work with a computer, the Ferret can work with a computer or be portable with an Android phone and the Ferret Pro can work with a computer, Android or iPhone. In my tests, the scanner would scan virtually anything as long as it's not reflective or transparent.

    What if the object you're scanning needs to have the bottom of the object scanned also?

    • @BranchusCreations
      @BranchusCreations  Před 2 měsíci +1

      You can scan the bottom half separately and then join the two halves using the software. I'll be covering that process in Part 2.

    Já que é para conseguir um resultado mediano como esse, melhor continuar usando o Kinect do console Xbox360. Pelo menos os aplicativos são opensource e o custo é bem menor. Mas pra quem está atrás de um prático brinquedo novo, esse aí é o ideal.

      Surely you know how to do this with any file in your slicer with the scale function..?

    I don't see where the scanned results are any better than the cheap scanners that came out years ago.
