You know they joke about girl math and boy math... But I am really enjoying your book math lol, it brings a smile to my face to see the books you have finished and the books yet to read. Keep on reading and smiling it definitely makes my day to see these videos.
...and to think that I was terrible at math in high school... thanks again for your kind words
God bless you for even trying .😂. I would never be able to stop buying books. A library in my area had a bag for $5 sale. I also read a publication called the book page and make a new list of books I want every month. I'm hopeless.
Sounds plain healthy to me 😅
I paused the screen a's you scrolled through your Amazon list, and near as I can tell, there's one book we have in common there: Lonesome Dove. Let us know when you are getting to that one! Enjoy your challenge! Is time i started
doing that
Wow, sharp eyes, Erik. (I only scrolled through a portion of the entire list.) Lonesome Dove 'feels' very far away at the moment. It's on the list mainly because of Mike's Book Reviews.
It feels far away for me too. My 2024 TBR was ~50 books long at the beginning of the year (Lonesome Dove was not on it), and I've only read ONE book from that TBR so far! i'm reading spontaneously instead. But I've picked 10 books from my own shelves that I've wanted to read for a long time and I'm sticking to this stack exclusively until it's done!
@@gronskeibooks TBR's are highly overrated. It would appear that you're doing your own RWYO-challenge.
Hey that Shadowfane is the same cover as mine. I think you’re doing pretty well
Thanks, Nev. By the way, I started reading Phantastes. 25 pages in, and I am not sure if I can keep reading this. It's ancient...
@@DutchGreyBeard heh, yes. Does your copy have the CSLewis intro? He mentions how MacDondald is not the best of writers! I enjoyed later parts so try to keep going
@@NevsBookChannel No, no intro in my copy. Okay, I'll keep on reading it. Thnx
I have done the Read What You Own Challenge for three years. The whole idea is to stop buying books indiscriminately.
Impressive. Yeah, I understand the idea, and I applaud people who can do that. For myself however.... the escape-door to buying new books remains too attractive.
Good morning! I think you're doing pretty good! And that the DNF should count towards your goal 🙂. BTW, what did you DNF?
Morning! Or, Afternoon... That would really feel like cheating... I embarked on this five volume series of 'Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East' by Baird Spalding, and after about 50 pages I decided that it was way too edifying (is that right word?) for me. I may pick it up again to give it a second chance, but not any time soon.
@@DutchGreyBeard Wow! That series does sound heavy. Maybe it's more of a "thinker" series - best ingested in small bites...
