- The more we see of Bandai Namco's action RPG Scarlet Nexus, the more we're intrigued by it. Its anime aesthetic, unique setting, and flashy combat are promising to come together in what has the potential to be a great game, and with its release date right around the corner, excitement surrounding the game is beginning to ramp up.

I wasn’t too sure about the game but after playing the demo, a definite day one purchase for me. Really enjoyed the combat. Also, the demo’s not exclusive to Xbox… it was… but only for a week. It’s now available on the PS4 and PS5 as well.

Played the demo and really liked it. Can't say nothing about the characters yet because they're pretty much by the book anime ones, but battle system is fun and stylish. Love the close-up camera angles with special moves.
The demo actually surprised me in that the two characters play very differently from each other and the overall combat wasn't bad. The aesthetic and seeming story are very similar to Astral Chain but I like the combat more just from playing the demo. My only concern is the levels as they seem very boring thus far and while I really like the voice acting and how they are seemingly telling the story I'm worried that the game will start to feel boring over time. Because of this, I'm definitely not going to pre-order the game and will instead wait for full reviews to tell me if this is the case or if it gets better over time.
I was blown away at how the combat seemed to take faster than my actual button input speed

This demo surprised me quite a lot. It deff exceeded expectations.
The design really does look like Tales of Berseria being from the same team. Looks like an awesome game

The demo was pretty cool. Controls took some getting used to though.
I'm playing the demo right now, and I think the movement, lock on, and camera are all really clunky. Kinda disappointed to be honest.

I just saw the ad for this game and I was already hooked
Just tried the demo on a PS4 Pro. Started with Yuito. It's quite DOPE. About to restart demo with Kasane. The combat system and aesthetics are fluidly-intertwined. I can see the story going places forsure.

Tried the demo but still not convinced, the combat looks like it could fun but i feel like it could get old very quickly too since it lacks depth.

This game reminds me of Code Vein but hopefully it's better than that one was.
Played the demo and was instantly hooked. I love the idea of the game and really enjoyed it, i still have a lot of questions like will the brain map be bigger? like more combos, special moves or abilities, or some type of overdrive transformation/upgrade but regardless amazing demo to me will be preordering the game for sure it still blows my mind how some people can look down upon this game but i guess we will see when it comes out. Awesome video though!

The demo released on ps4/ps5 on the 28th
Just finished ratchet and clank rift apart it took me almost 20 hours to 100% had to do all the side quests find collectibles get every weapon to finsh the story
Played the demo, it was alright. It's just the running speed/movent, camera and lock on were too clunky for me. Was very disappointed, but I'll def pick it up on sale or used on eBay in a few months for a fraction of the price

My only gripe is the UI, especially on the cutscenes, I hate that "skip" button is always present even in cutscenes, they should remove that skip button icon.

The Demo gave off vibes that it’s one of those games you could play through in 1-3 days and with them confirming that there won’t be a multiplayer, I’m gonna wait for reviews to get it
I think they said it's going to be a 40 to 60 hour game. That's meaty enough for me...
Only curious if how different storu will be between to characters. On PS5 demo, characters you interacted with and location were different. Bosses were the same.
I wonder what the SAS plug ins in the deluxe edition will be... I might just have to get that because the SAS aspect is my favorite part of the game

I mean the anime like art style was already enough for me to buy it but it's just a bonus that it also has really fucking good gameplay from what we've seen in the demo

I tried the demo. Graphically I thought it wasn't very impressive, but it's also not a finished product, so it could improve later. I didn't like the way the game did the cutscenes either. It was mostly still frames like a comic book. The gameplay itself was pretty fun though.
The demo is also out on ps5!

After playing the demo I've come to two conclusions:
1. The game has much potential
2. The controls remind me of the time I play Nioh 2. It's as convoluted and I feel like I need a third hand to play this game.
Btw. Don't talk about the Guardians Edition that's already sold out for weeks.

Looks cool. Tried the demo, but the invisibility and super speed to take down specific enemies feels kind of boring. Also the camera is kind of all over the place. Probably will wait for review 😎 Thanks for the video 🙃
Yeah some of the assist abilities felt lacking at times but the characters have levels so probably be over powered later down the line.

Just played the demo this morning. Varying enemy types (the few that were in the demo) do a bit to spice up combat. Combat however doesn’t feel as good as it should and your hits just don’t feel like they have any real impact. Your special moves and animations could get tiresome after some time or after long sessions. The HUD is a bit too busy. The graphics fit the art style and overall esthetic. Overall a decent game but personally I don’t believe it would be worth your money paying full price for it

Sounds like it’s just not your thing to be honest. There’s a few negative responses here and there but everyone else loves what the demo had to offer from what I hear. Then again I’m used to crowded huds and whatnot.

I like the game but I think I don't like it enough to get it at full price. Also,I kind of wish I could've have created my own character.
I agree but I think it will be more story focused because of this. Still I would like my own mc for immersion.

Game wasn't even on my radar till i played the demo and now im interested, gonna wait for the reviews tho cuz i feel the story is gonna be garbage and the environments are uninteresting and lack variety
Let's be honest here, environments are rarely good in any anime type games. So if combat and characters/story aren't enough there's no other factor that will make you purchase the game.

Tbh i feel its the opposite. In the demo, we were presented some lore which if explored (the role of Crows and why our characters are famous, the public perception of the OSF, why our main characters have the same power and their clash in the anime intro, and interaction with side characters) make an interesting plot. Sadly, I think the presentation is a bit lacking because the way they present the dialogue with pictures. However, because this game is directed by a Tales of Vesperia director, I hope he will do a good job like his previous work.
i Actually really enjoyed the environment that i was in as Yuito, i liked the city layout and how their were some explorable parts i just hope their is a variety of enemies

The game is fun but way to floaty. Also the attacks, jumps, dodges etc had too much of a delay for me. May get it after a discount.

I hope this isn't one of those one offs if its good enough to enjoy the story and combat style and get attached the charactors . No point in any of its only dissapearing in a few months not even multi player . Like you play it to death and beat it several times . Then you put it away in the pile of games you used to play to collect dust .

This game looks cool, and I was hyped for it, but after playing the demo, I felt so restricted. Both sides of the demo are rather linear in progression with little to no room for exploration (Might be different in the full game). And imo it was kinda lazy that both stories had very similar dialogues at many parts( again could just be a demo thing). All in all, I wasn’t impressed with the demo and think it’s worth waiting for a sale.
