In the case of Ludicolo, it can learn fire punch, which is really strange since it's a grass/water type. Primarina is objectively the best starter for sun and moon, because it has the type advantage over all of the kahunas and a good amount of the trials.

    • @matthewkuscienko4616
      @matthewkuscienko4616 Před rokem +29

It's also worth mentioning that Primarina is the only starter that doesn't suffer from any major disadvantages against any of the elite four:
*It has a major type advantage against both Hala and Olivia
*Access to ice beam gives you a decent match-up against Kahili
*It also gets shadow ball to deal with Acerola's ghosts (don't know how many people are aware of this)
*Despite being part fairy, Primarina's water type means it doesn't do too badly against Molayne's steel types; though it's still probably the hardest match-up for it thanks in part to Magnezone

If I needed to use false swipe on a ghost type, I used foresight. Never had a problem with story challenges and if I encountered a shiny, I was ready. 6:11 In Gen IV and earlier (and maybe Gen V I don't remember), you need to buy ten at a time, in different purchases, to get the best benefit from premier balls. In earlier gens, if you buy 10 or more balls, you will always get one premier ball. So if you want 30 balls, but 10, then buy 10, then buy 10 again. And that will give you 3 premier balls. This is not the case for newer gens, thanfully.

Currently playing through Omega Ruby randomised and as a Nuzlocke. I can confirm that you can't buy 20 pokeballs and get 2 premier balls. You'll need to buy 10 and then 10 again.

For those who want a non-memey answer as to the best Gen 9 starter, it's Fuecoco. It's super effective against the two lowest leveled gyms, keeps solid momentum against 3 lategame gyms, matches well defensively against 3 of the 5 Star Bases, and matches well against one of the Titans (arguably 2 in Violet) It's so amazing that some Nuzlockes actually suggest you ban it for your playthroughs to give yourself at least a little more challenge.

I was a Tepig fan before so this was a shock for me personally. Set up moves are very effective in Pokemon Black, especially since leveling up is such a drag. Snivy gets Growth before the first gym, and late game can have Coil. My final move set was Coil, Leaf Blade, Giga Drain, and Leech Seed. Worked like a flipping charm, I didn't even break a sweat.

One of my favorite tips that I’ve learned is an EXP trick in HG/SS involving the daycare. They are possibly the hardest games in the series, but this trick makes the game much easier. Put two of your mons in the daycare, then fly to the gym in Ecruteak city, find an object heavy enough to push down the up arrow on the d-pad (such as a book, personally, I recommend Stephen King’s IT), walk into the gym, rest the object on the d-pad, and abusing the system in the gym where if you fall off the ledge, you teleport back to the start, you can have your character move infinitely whilst you do other productive things. I did this over night a couple of times and got my team from level 40 to 100 in the about 4 days.

For x/y, once you clear out the power plant, there's a dude in a side room next to the giant area where you fight team flare. Initially he sells fresh water for 300 per bottle, but after beating the evil team scientist, it's 100 per bottle.

ayy i did the pokemon quiz recently too (admittedly not fully, made it to 745 pokemon with most of the missing pokemon being from galar) and i used the same strategies (thinking about all gym leaders, elite four members and champions and their teams, considering categories like the ones you named + regional bugs/birds and pseudo-pseudo legendaries) and i also used weird evolution methods (extremely high levels, trading with items etc) and type combinations (named all of the types and then attempted to name at least one pokemon with each combination before moving on). I'm sure that you may have tried/considered trying these additional methods and simply didn't have time to mention them in the video but I thought I would leave them in the comments for anyone else who is interested in trying the pokemon quiz :)

I tried to do it btw. Took an hour and fifteen minutes and didn't get the order completely right, but I'm proud

In Unova, I literally sold all of my potions and lived off of only Casteliacones, Moomoo milks, and Revival Herbs.
Speaking of Unova, I have another (not very useful tbh) fact:
There's only 1 region with relevant gym leaders.

Turtwig would be a good pokemon for sinnoh in my opinion. Good against Roark, Wake, Byron, Volkner, and Bertha. Grotle resists most of Gardenia's moves, bite for Fantina, rock moves to cover it's weaknesses, and it's tanky. Infernape is still better though

heres a tip for ya, when ya play black and white or black and white 2, stock up on lilliepups with pickup as their ability and slowly make your team, that way you can get stuff like potions, pokeballs and hyper potions early and consistent enough

The way I pick my pokemon is through like what type I choose before for example in kanto I choose charmsnder so in johto I choose todidile and in hoenn I choose Treecko. Then i chose chimchar in sinnoh, snivy in unova bc i actually loved it design. Froakie in kalos and rowlet in alola bc I loved the idea of a archer. And in galar I choose scorbunny, so I'm forced to pick quaxly

11:00 this reasoning is actually the reason why the only balls I buy are regular Poké Balls, Quick Balls, and Dusk Balls (the last one is purely for cosmetic effect). Quick Balls have a 5× modifier on the first turn, so they're worth their price, but Great Balls only increase effectiveness by 50% but cost thrice the price, and Ultra Balls are 6× the price and only double the total effectiveness. This means that you're almost always going to be better off throwing regular Poké Balls because you can buy so many more of them that you can afford to take extra turns. Dusk Balls also aren't _really_ worth it, but they fit well, thematically, with my Dark-types, so I usually have my main team in Dusk Balls.

3:30 For Gens 3 and especially 4, I suggest turning off move animations regardless even for a casual playthrough due to how much slower paced the battle systems are in these games, its saves so much time especially in original diamond and pearl with how sluggish the battle systems are
