GUYS GUYS GUYS, I realized about one pokemon coincidence. So, this has to do something about math, sooooo. (this coincidence doesn't include generation 1) do Do you guys know about the pokemon remakes?
Lets have an example: Generation 2's remake is on generation 4. Lets use multiplication.
2 x 2 = 4!!! Each remake of it's generation is the double number of it's original generation!
2 x 3 = 6, the remake of ruby and sapphire is gonna be generation 6!
2 x 4 = 8, so diamond and pearl's remake is gonna be generation 8!
COINCEDINCE?
Notice me senpai
pikachu is also a starter in pokemon go.
if u know how to do the secret :D

Do you know who is peen?
It's interesting that you mentioned dark, psychic and fighting as potential starter types when they've already done exactly that, with the Kalos-starters. Honestly, I tend to forget that Greninja is part dark-type, because of its ability to change its type.
The Sinnoh and Alola trio had something similar but they didn’t work like with Gen 6 (Gen 4: Ground > Fire and Steel, Steel < Fire/Fighting, Gen 7: Dark > Ghost, Fairy > Dark, Ghost = Fairy)
Grass - Ground - Poison is also applicable.
@@fight_and_die1573 Well, the Sinnoh starter just literally destroy each other
@@fight_and_die1573 wait what was the other 2 line kalos starters have
@@coolalolanchampionelio7024 Delphox and Chesnaught
Fact 21: Every starter pokemon is someone's first pokemon therefore they should all be treated with respect.
@person person i really don't like its design
Except Chikorita 😤😤😤
Jk of course all starters deserve respect
@@joskalnunez381 I love it ngl
This is a quote I will live and die by
No.
Another fact: Charizard is the most used Pokemon among the Champions in core games series. Charizard is used by four champions: Red, Blue (if the player choose Bulbasaur as starter Pokémon), Lance and Leon.
Fun fact: Cyndaquil starts off as the weakest Johto starter, but Typhlosion ends up as the strongest.
“Lillie’s first pokemon was a Alolan Ninetales”
Me: Are you sure about that?
Reminds me of the time Jenny called her Growlithe an Arcanine
Yea I am pretty sure it was a Clefairy, because she said it was hers and was mad at her mom for evolving it without her permission.
Or Cleffa
@@a.m.bergeron7786 psst... the joke is that he showed a picture of alolan vulpix and said ninetails... don't tell nayone tho-
@@imnotsuspiciousshh but Vulpix was not her first pokemon. It was either Cleffa or Clefairy.
I just got up in the middle of the night and opened CZcams to see that Aura posted something 1 minute ago. This has made my day--and it's only 2am.
hi
Look behind. You'll be happier :)))
Basculegion wishes you a good rest of your day
Fellow Australian?
Nice
I had no idea Chikorita is used that often in the anime. Looks like the anime staff appreciates the Pokemon more than the player does.
Just to correct you, blaziken wasn't banned because of batton passing, batton passing is already too strong by itself. Blaziken was banned because it was too strong as a revange killer. The ability to get speed boost + sword dance in only one turn, and the fact it still had 3 coverage mooves it could use with it gave it the ability to win any match with one good anticipation.
"Swampert is the strongest starter overall"
A single blade of grass: IM ABOUT TO END THIS MAN'S WHOLE CAREER
but no matter what hes the most lovable starter
Me: nothing can stop my beastly starter

Michael with his Sceptile be like: "Oh, that's cute..."
Oh boy here I go killing again.
Bro is just a fully evolved whooper I forgot the evo name accept I'm more likely to use whooper then it
Interesting thing about Swampert being the strongest starter objectively and Incineroar being the strongest starter in doubles is they have very similar stats, being slow and bulky physical attackers with still decent special attack so could go mixed depending on the set.
Yup their stat spreads are almost identical which I find really cool
Yup their stat spreads are almost identical which I find really cool
3:16 Not only do the Cyndaquil Line and Charmander line have the same stats, but they also have really similar positions in their art. (Looking up into the corner, hands out to their sides, etc.)
Sceptile: Is a huge scary dinosaur
Blaziken: *c h i c k e n*
Swampert: *s c a r y a x o l o t l*
Sceptile isn’t scary. It’s just derpy and is a kinda terrible design. Imagine being loved so much then realizing you are a Christmas tree. And there is no reason to choose Sceptile in hoenn at all. Yeah there may be a lot of water in hoenn but Juan the water type gym leader has ice types. Sceptile also remains a pure grass type and it’s mega does *not* help that at all. A 4x weakness to ice is not good. Sceptile literally goes extinct when it touches a shard of ice. Swampert is obviously way better and blaziken gets speed boost and hits very hard. Those 2 are better options….. oh and swampert is a mud fish not an axolotl
I know they’re the evolved form of Eevee, but technically Wes started with Espeon and Umbreon in Colosseum.
Yeah it’s not clear whether or not he received them as Eevees or just fully evolved pokémon but they are pretty much his starters.
@@jizolord69 I feel it was assumed he had Eevees who evolved into them because they were the new hotness at the time. I honestly feel without Breon and Espy Wes would be a different personality
@@ashtonoak4370 ok that makes some sense

Poison - Ground - Grass can also work as starter type trio
Yeah all have resistances and weaknesses to each other.
Fire - Rock - Steel too
His Point was that the starters are not grass fire it water, in the trio you suggested, grass is still there
@@PokemonPrince_ he was talking about a type triangle that wasn't fire water and grass, so I mean technically op is right.
Electric-water-ground
For fact number 17, you could use a fighting-steel-fairy trio. This was the type combination I gave to my first fakemon starter trio. It was fire fairy, water fighting and grass steel. Now, I need to think of a way to fix the fire fairy starter.
Fighting doesn't resist Steel though. So, it won't be a complete triangle.
@@anirudhdsp4074 well, fighting resists rock, so it probably should resist steel
@@legitimate8463 well it should but it doesnt so maybe we need to find another starter trio
there's also flying fighting rock
Bruh how you say Charizard and Greninja are the most popular while even my grandpa knows pikachu and knows nothing about Pokemon lmfao
Your grandpa is irrelevant to the majority of people. Go look at any polls, pikachu is not as popular as a favorite compared to zard and greninja haha
@@QAQISH650 bro you mean to tell me that if you showed people who don't play or watch pokemon at all, they would be able to recognize greninja and not charizard or Pikachu? Legit everyone whose even heard the word pokemon knows Pikachu
@@QAQISH650 Pikachu is literally the mascot of pokémon, how would these pokémon be more popular then it?
@Swoonflower We’re not even talking about the power department? It’s just based on design
Pikachu is the most known pokemon while Charizard and greninja are the most loved ones or a lot of people consider them their favorites
6:33 when I first started playing Pokémon with Pokémon Sapphire, I picked Mudkip bc it looked the cutest and didn’t realize that it’s fully evolved form would have the strongest stats. I used my level 100 Swampert to beat all the trainers in the game, even the elite four, which is a testimony to its strength.
Gen 5 Starters are actually based on sort of an east west thing: Emboar is chinese, Samurott is Japanese, and Serperior is French
Gen 5 starters are based off of high-up or important classes in different cultures, with a little bit of an old Japanese tale of 3 or so kingdoms mixed in there. Serperior is based of of emperors/kings, Samurott are based of off Samurai (duh), and Emboar is based of off Generals
to be precisely ancient empires
I love how it's like Asia, Asia, Europe lmao
I thought it would have the whole "Three Kingdoms" thing...
Its emperor, shogun and samurai, the ruling class of japan, but emboar is also of journey of the west, and serperior in a character of romance of the three kingdoms.
One of my favorite part about Aura’s video upload is guessing if it’s a troll or not, love both of ‘em regardless.
Omg kanon pfp,,, taste
5:51 regarding Pokémon starter memes, in the spanish community there is, was, And always will be a starter meme, so powerful it trasended the Pokémon franchise itself, it was a squirtel image with the caption"vamo' a calmarno' " which translates to something like " let's calm down" but with a more chill way of speaking
I’m glad I now know this
My trust for Aura has gone so down to the point where I thought this entire list was gonna be about Bulbasaur based on the first 2 entries
Fun fact: Magikarp is faster than all 3 Alola starters….
Ye
Another Pokémon Fact: Blaziken, Infernape, and Emboar are all part of Cobra Kai!
(Only Karate Kid fans will understand this pun)
And Onix, a giant rock snake monster that weighs hundreds of pounds, is weaker than many bugs, you’re point?
@@The_Psycho_Bad_Boy what because there fighting types, thats dumb if anything incineroar and greninja would be because there dark types
@@Kylecoll1629 Don't have to be rude about it dude! I was just trying to make a Pokémon Cobra Kai joke!
Another fact is that Gen 8 is the second generation to have a full set of starters without a secondary type. The first was Gen 2
If it weren't for Emboar, Gen 5 would've been the second.
@@layerex3957 gotta love those fire-fighting starters.
I just realized, all the Fire type starters so far all ended up on two legs in their last evolution most of the Grass and Water types don't

Fact: cyndaquil line was the only pure fire type starter before the scorbunny line
can Gamefreak make a fire type starter who is dual type all the way? don't know, but it's fun to think about.
@@jacktheomnithere2127 To this day, Bulbasaur is the only first stage of a starter with an additional type. I don't think that they're planning to repeat that idea.
@@r4nd0mguy99 Rowlet is also a first stage with an additional type, since it's part Flying. Though it does swap it out for the Ghost type as Decidueye.
@Riwaj pun: It's also worth noting that generations 2 and 8 (the gens that Cyndaquil and Scorbunny were part of, respectively) are the only 2 generations in which none of the three starters got any secondary types at all
@@AuraStrikeAce he a good meme lord
Replacement types also work for Rock > Fire > Steel and Poison > Grass > Ground, but they both include types that are apart of the original starter trio, so this is less likely. Rock > Fire > Steel, is also even less likely because the Steel and Rock type starters would resist a lot of early game normal type moves that the Fire starter wouldn’t.
11:09 with Scarlet and Violet just around the corner, I’m excited to see what the theme of this generation’s trio is gonna be
10:16 we basically got that with the Kalos starters (sadly they're doubly strong and the secondary cycle doesn't go in reverse)
Yeah they should have done it so the second typings are strong against the Pokemon with the first typings... so Delphox is strong against Greninja is strong against Chestnaught is strong against Delphox
1:29
Yes, may we please have some Fs in the chats in memory of those poor Pokémon who had to be nicknamed in order to be traded, truly a sad time :,(
You forgot to mention poipole, in its dex entry, it says that poipole was a good first partner pokemon, making it a starter in an alternate universe
I always thought it would be nice if for a Starter weakness triangle, that their sub-types went the opposite direction, but tried to avoid X4 weaknesses as much as possible. So Fire Flying, Water Fighting, Grass Rock in this case.
Gen 4 almost has this. Infernape can counter Empoleon with Fighting, and Torterra can counter Infernape with Ground, but then Empoleon is Steel so they end up being weak to both Infernape’s and Torterra’s secondary types
@@zememerr2329 Yeah, the "AAAAALMOST" factor is kinda like Gen 6, except in that one they fortified the pre-existing loop. I just think it would be cool as a teaching tool for kids to learn about type match ups, and to have varying move pools to cover disadvantages. It's not even that sweaty of a concept either, and by baking it into the starter trio, it raises the chances of kids internalizing that without necessarily having to be told it, or even realizing themselves that they're doing it. And it would give something for the rivals to do, and give a bit of surprise. The first time the "Weak" rival busted out a super effective move on their subtype, it'll be an eye opener.
correction: the gen 5 starters do NOT represent asian higher social classes. serperior is based on french royalty, and I don't think I have to remind you that france isn't an asian country.
instead, the theme with the gen 5 starters is that they represent europe (serperior), china (emboar) and japan (samurott).
this was because something they wanted to incorperare in gen 5's characters and pokemon was diversity, and different nationalities, inspired by the diversity of people in america/new york compared to a place like japan.
France is in Europe, the americas, Africa,Antarctica, Oceania, and guess what they’re also In asia
pokemon designs don't use one reference only
@@pochita4996 this is true, but aside from the several snakes its based on, pretty much all of serperior's references are to things involving french nobility and europe.
@@zera5336 that joke really doesn't make sense considering there's no other places named france.
besides, I did specify the country in the previous comment, so the joke wouldn't have worked regardless.
@JayLeeBeanz that foreigners get them confused, doesn't mean they aren't diverse
I would love to see a typing variation for future game starters. The combination of grass , fire and water is good , but I wanted something new that would be very innovative
12:10 "An Alolan Ninetales"
Oh no, he just had an "anime moment" and said the wrong thing.
I had no idea The Legend of Thunder special took so long to localize! I also didn’t know that Cyndaquil had an alternate design when it wasn’t a starter.
New aura video? Let’s go!
wait he upload videos ?

@@tyranitorn8632 haha I don’t think I will but I appreciate the feedback
Y'know, I wonder what the anime would be like if Ash did start with Clefairy. What would it's current moveset be? Would it involve it using Metronome since that's Clefairy's thing in the anime? What would it be like in gen 6 when Clefairy's type was changed to Fairy. So many questions.
And would we have jerkass Clefable trainers that would belittle Ash's Clefairy similiar to Lt. Surge and Sho? Instead of Alolan Raichu (I love it BTW) would we have Alolan Clefable?
@@glumanteri imagine if we had clefairy ripoffs every gen like we get with Pikachu

"Lillie's starter Pokemon was Alolan Ninetales" *proceeds to show Alolan Vulpix*
“Ash wanted squirtle”
“Oak picked charmander”
No one wanted my man bulbasaur😭
The theme in all the starters I found fascinating.
Also, the guy you mentioned that made the design for the pokemon designed a lot of pokemon I like. I thought the Oshawott and Tynamo lines were so cool.
9:19 Kinda like the rest of Alola
Auras videos are absolutely amazing but we need videos like this weekly
6:26 YES! SWAMPERT!!
The Greninja fact reminded me that there is a Pokémon with 4 abilities, Basculin. Red Stripe Basculin gets Reckless, Adaptability, and Mold Breaker, meanwhile Blue Striped Basculin switches Reckless for Rock Head, giving 4 in total since they’re the same Pokémon.
Rockruff too :)
Keen Eye and Vital Spirit as normal abilities, hidden Steadfast and event only Own Tempo
@@obek4959 Not anymore, thanks to the Isle of Armor DLC. Raids with the yellow background are always Own Tempo Rockruff, which can only evolve into Dusk Form.
Another fact: beta cyndaquil has the same colour as shiny quilava in the coliseum
I'm thinking that the beta Cyndaquil from Gold and Silver Would've Been Grass, As the Spikes on its back Look like Thorns.
When he said swampert had 535 stat total, I was laughing because infernape has 534 stat total
5:40 that is cursed
You know it is a good day when the aura guardian uploads.
12:27 that is literally one of my most favorite parts of this video. I Love your videos!
Fairy-Steel-Fighting also works and in my opinion, are the most intriguing starter types
But the guy who gave stats and abilities to Piplup and Oshawatt was probably not good
:(
11:06 Reminds we of the last time I heard about themes people thought that gen 8 starters where going to be sports theme
And now we have the Paldean starters which follow the theme of a stage performance, with Skeledirge being a singer, Quaquaval being a dancer, and Meowscarada being a magician
I mean the whole Fighting, Psychic, Dark thing did happen in X and Y.
Fire Psychic
Grass Fighting
Water Dark
The Alola starters are all very good, especially Incineroar and Primarina. I’m glad they did something different with them, they’re all unique in their own way. Decidueye could’ve been given a better HA, though.
The thing about starter themes was so cool!! I never knew that!!!
Great video, also, I completely forgot about the mudkip memes lmao the good ol days
I'm so ready for the new Pokemon games I feel empty without catching Pokemons
it would be cool, if in a future generation, they would have more obvious differences in starters. for example: Imagine if a female Wartortle didn't evolve into Blastoise, but into a faster more special attack orientated fighter, or if Male Primarina had a drastically different form and typing. So Primarina (m) could be Water/dark, or Water/Fighting.
That would take an effort and you know gamefreak.
I didn’t know I could like cyndaquil any more than i already do, the first concept is so cute!!!!
fighting dark psychic is also the secondary types of the kalos starters
greninja - water/dark
chestnaught - grass/fighting
delphox - fire/psychic
also if ghost type was super effective against fairy:
decidueye - grass/ghost
primarina - water/fairy
incineroar - fire/dark
I remember the Gen 2 and Gen 1 starters' similarities because of Pokemon Challenge and him bashing on Typhlosion lol
Hey, TheAuraGuardian! There’s also another alternative trio of the classic
water/fire/grass starter typings. That type trio would be fighting/steel/fairy. An interesting set for sure.
Fighting doesn't resist Steel though.
"have you ever thought that oshawott and piplup looked similar?"
chespin: am i a joke to you?
“Honestly I am all for gender differences” that can easily be taken out of context
Awww, if only the Latias and Blaziken hybrid that was originally Blaziken’s beta form could be a thing.

Mya favorite part of the video was hearing the different themes each trio follows!
13:09 "Honestly, I'm all for gender differences"
Just wait til that gets taken out of context. My bet is on Twitter.
The theme of the Alolan starters imo probably fall more in line as rpg roles part two rather than circus, with Incineroar being a berserker, Decidueye an archer, and Primarina a cleric/bard
I will forever thank Yusuke Ohmura for designing my favorite Pokémon, Greninja.
Heres a fact :
The kalos Starters final forms are the two triangles being Grass - Water - Fire And Fightin - Dark - Pychic
Chesnaut = Grass/Fighting
Greninja = Water/Dark
Delphox = Fire/Pychic
NOTE:

Greninja was also the first Pokémon to get two Holowears in Pokémon Unite, and is only one of three to have more than one (the others being Pikachu and Snorlax). Charizard hasn't even gotten one yet, so it seems like they are favouring Greninja
I like how the first 3 facts are just bullying bulbasaur
What a well-researched video!
Yo! 😄 great video 😁 I really enjoyed this one 🔥🤘🔥
Blastoise also joined the rank of Ubers in Generation 8 in a form of Mega Blastoise due to his access to Shell Smash.
For number 17, There's another trio that works the same, and that's Ground, Poison, and Grass
Things like Red's Poli and Brock's Onix and Jame's Growlithe are one of the many reasons I differentiate between Starter Pokemon and First Pokemon. First Pokemon are the first Pokemon a character has, Starter Pokemon are specifically the fire, water, and grass type Pokemon given out by Professors for whatever reason they do so.

Fun fact: *This was another Top 20 video by amazing TheAuraGuardian,so that's nice*
Also I wish y'all a great day.
Most of the prontagonists from Pokémon Adventures choose the "Tank" starters (As in, their best attribute when fully evolved is their HP). The exceptions are Gold, who uses a Cyndaquil (a "speed-type", and the Johto Tank, Croconaw, belonging to Silver instead) and Blake, who has the more balanced Samurott.

10:11 You could also do Steel, Fighting and Fairy
Wait what how did I just learn that the kid in the clebi movie is a young Oak? I've watched that movie like 10 times wtf
This was very interesting!
According to beta information, Cydnaquil was orginally planned to be a steel type.
This is explains why "Metal Claw" seemed weird that only scizor got it, As it has pincers NOT claws, crabhammer existed, metal pincer move would have been easy to do.
I think it might have been planned for the steel type version of cyndaquil, something that has claws but the move was thrown onto scizor as it was already complete.
charizard and typlosion are doing the exact same pose
