I'm in CR. Termites would eat'er up. I use steel and then real cedar 1 x 8/2 x 6 for all the jambs and backers. 15 mm Cement board plastered in and out.Trusses and all, steel . Great designs you got up'ar in Yankee land ;-)
Nice layout of the home that makes it cozy. A nice guest bathroom with two different sinks for the kids can't fight who is going to brush their teeth. One thing your forgot to show the pantry in the kitchen size. Where is the location for the washer and dryer.
More our size of home. Also looked like another barndomenium next door. I remember rotary phones. You had a friend with a 9 in their number and you messed up and had to start all over. Pitcher is spelled the same per my Scrabble loving wife.
Very nice indeed. I saw the placeholder for the wood burning stove. In a home like that I've always dreamed of having a Soap Stone wood burning stove/heater. There are some real beauties out there. But you have to pay for that of course, roughly $6,500 to $8,500 depending.

I love the design. We plan on something similar for Kentucky, but with stained cement flooring, white cabinets, and a laundry room.

@@armandoyourpersonaljeweler7558 I would love to integrate a shop into our build but I already have a shop built on our property. We are in the final bidding stages of our build now so we hopefully will be breaking ground in the next 3 months. Hopefully y’all get to build what y’all want.

Yeah, it would be nice to know cost; however, they don’t usually give them. Too many variables and they probably don’t want to “advertise” what their customers pay.

It always amazes me when I see someone buy/build in Kaufman County TX. That place is a cesspool! Burglars run the county, the Sheriff's dept is as corrupt as it gets, and the amount of Meth being cooked and sold there is astonishing.

During this season of building the majority of these homes were 8-12 months of build time. In a little slower market should take much less time. 6-8 months preferred.

Barnaminiums are not used for the efficiency. That is one of the perks to having and living in a barndomenium. But the main purpose of a barndominium when people first started doing this was to TRICK THE TAX MAN WHEN doing a fly by. The taxes on a barn ate much less than a family dwelling in a big fancy house. Are you from the Texas ranch community?
