  • 4.9% alcohol. Brewed in Germany by Paulaner.
    "This beer is credited for being one of the most popular Munich lagers. Moreover, our brewmasters were among the first to bring Munich lager beer to the Bavarian taps. The recipe for success remains: A perfect balance of malty character and the light bitterness of hops."

    INGREDIENTS: Water, hops, malt
    HOP VARIETES: Hallertauer Tradition
    MALT VARIETES: Pilsner malt (light barley malt)

    That's a good beer. I drink it pretty often. It's available here in my city. Also I love other German brands like Ayinger and Weihenstephaner. I can drink like 6 pints of Weihenstephaner original premium and not get a headache in the morning. German beers are my favorite. I've tried beers from all over the world including Russian, Czech, Belgian, British, etc. And I think Germans are the best, at least in my opinion.

      In my case, I believe that the German beers just might be my favorites, too.

    I agree with Dave, this beer is actually better then Pilsner Urquell. Yes, I said that! Don’t get me wrong PU is an excellent beer but this one is better. It is the most balanced beer that I’ve ever drank. I prefer this one over Paulaner Pils which is another fine beer but I like this one a bit more. The Paulaner Marzen is one of the best Oktoberfest beers I’ve ever drank. Great review guy! Prost to you both!

    such a great beer...used to be really hard to find here in the UK, you had to go to a specialist beer shop or a German supermarket/bar...more available now and i just saw one of our big supermarkets started stocking the 500ml bottles. again wonderful stuff and i agree that it feels like your drinking something that's good for you and healthy.

    they sell (4 packs cans) this at Total Wine in Virginia Beach/ Norfolk and you know i love my euro lagers (and especially Pils/pilsners). I have purchased a couple times. To me (even as a euro lover) I can only give it a good and not a great or whatever. Decent beer all the way but too sweet to be anything higher, wish had a touch more hops. Our old friend Hoggie once reviewed their pilsner, gave it a "glass full" even though he was never a pilsner/lager guy but i have never seen the Paulaner Pils in the stores .... just this one and i think maybe their Hefe/ weiss offering. It;s OK/ not bad but can't call it a favorite. Even for a Helles i would rather have a Lowenbrau (which i used to love when it was sold here). Or go to the new Total Wine in your area and look for Benedikter Hell (owned by Bitburger) and i also think that one is better. I give the beer you reviewed a B - but cant go higher for the reasons i mentioned - but would never turn this down (of course)

    It is a really great beer, nothing in the US, Mexican or non German/Czech Lager styles can compare in my opinion. I just wish I could find it or Bitburger at a comparable price a 12 pack to Pilsner Urquell. I don't know if I'd rate either above Pilsner Urquell, but it is definitely in the same balll park of quality.

    I paid 2.99 for a single tall can. Have no idea how much a 4 pack is. Is it still sold in 6 pack bottles ? I think its good but its not something I need to revisit again and again. That would depend on the price point.

    A lager can be a world class beer...A beer does not have to be a strong beer to be a world class beer...I think Ronald may be biased against lagers from his initial negative reaction to it being called a world class beer with a 100 score...

    • @ronaldtheriot
      @ronaldtheriot  Před 4 lety

      I'm not at all biased against lagers, but I just didn't find that it was quite up to world class level, which is hard to achieve, on my scale.
