  • “When you watch the panic, you are not the panic. There is space, and this space between you and the panic comes automatically” - watch this new video that is from Tergar’s new free Intro to Mediation online course bit.ly/3r0fDsx
Mingyur Rinpoche explains that emotions are not as solid as they may first appear, but, instead, consist of different components such as physical sensations. Moreover, when we become aware of these components, he explains that a natural space emerges within our experience.
Reflecting on an instruction he received from his father as a boy, Mingyur Rinpoche guides us through a simple body-scan meditation aimed at supporting us when difficult emotions arise.

"If you're watching the river you're not in the river"
If I'm watching my panic, I'm making peace with it
If I'm watching my anger, I'm making peace with anger
If I watch my death, I make peace with it.
    Subtle but powerful.
    Thank you

I have a disease that makes it very hard for body to relax. Theres always some muscle that moves a little bit. What you said about allow that you cannot relax was so such an eye opener to me. I have struggled so long to fight with my self and try to relax when its actually impossible to me. This can be my way to relax. Your videos have great impact Mingyur Rinpoche!

I once decided to practice meditation every day for month. At the time, social anxiety was strong for me. I'd have panics in company. After this month, I didn't "feel" different. But I had to go to a social gathering and I was suddenly aware that I could observe myself and my reactions and that I wasn't my reactions and out of that, I had profound calm. I was could feel that I am God and that the fears are just flitting shadows. This stuff works and it doesn't even take that long.

@Gordon Martin It's why it is called a 'disorder'. If a state of sensation becomes overwhelming it may lead to disorder in your daily life - making it impossible to perform normal tasks; that's why it's called a disorder. Extreme cases of happiness can cause disorder as well.

Everything is okay. Be free. Be yourself. Such powerful words. Makes us accept we are okay as we are in a world where we are constantly judged not only by others but by ourselves as well. Mediation should be the way to let that go. At the end of this I had tears in my eyes realising how harsh we are on ourselves as well. Thank you 🙏

Oh man this was so helpful, I've been experiencing this meditation and just got stuck, the part about if you can't relax, then Allow yourself that you can't relax. That's where I was stuck and I get it now, it's all a part of the experience and all of the experience is there to be seen, that's all and there is no need to to do anything to that which I see, but just to see what appears inside. And it's even okay if I can't look at some part of this, just observe even the "I can't look at this anymore" and allow even that.
Ah, I think I developed a strong ego and fear of getting help with meditation in worry that people would mislead me, but this video was exactly what I needed right now.

There is a psychotherapy designed around these murky feelings you find in your chest, throat and abdomen. It is called 'focusing' and was developed by Engine Gendlin. It has been used for years and I have had a fair amount of experience in it. Very, very similar to the approach in this video. It teaches you to make friends with the unclear feeling as if it was a scared wild animal. As you sit with it, it often changes dramatically, releasing itself and bringing wisdom. I have been suicidal in the past, and went from feeling worthless, to feeling like I'd been on the most relaxing holiday once I had finished a session. Really powerful.

All so called methods are variations of a single theme. You must either keep running from the feeling, trying to get rid of it etc, or you must stop and be willing to look into it with courage and curiosity. It's either that or continue being owned by the fear.

    What is jhanna and samadhi?
To make ppl to understand like reading ABC Jhanna, samadhi made simple to be understood in this way.....
This is how it can be easily understood.......
Just say calm ,calmer, calmest or say strong stronger, strongest.
It is in this way the meaning of jhanna and samadhi can be quickly understood.
It is the mind that become peace, more peaceful, completely peaceful .
Jhana are to be easily understand in this way.
This is from my 37 over years of vipasanna meditation and experience and have come to attain to the path.
And seeing all the 8 level of jhanna and the final 9th level is ceesation of conciousness.
There are totally 4 pairs.Path and fruition in each pair so totalling eight states of calm mind.
The 9th level is magga phala.

Now we know how terrible the situation in this world is. Just writing comments or being informed doesn't help at all.
Just meditating and praying doesn't help either. We know that so many children in this world are starving to death or raped every day. We also know how everyday nature is being damaged. Everyone finds this awful but the situation does not change noticeably. Together we have to give up or share our prosperity and also be ready to risk our precious lives for the good.
Stop following temptations!!! Why do so many people risk their lives for evil(war) but very few risk for good(Peace) without a weapon like Jesus or Gandhi? We are Gods, we are Buddhas we are stronger than nuclear weapons. Sooner or later we ALLdie without exception. Let's wake up collectively and save this suffering world together fearlessly!!!🙏🙏🙏
