I really like the upgrades, the only take-out that feels weird is that 2 mana +3/+2 equip for free to legendaries. Good stuff! 👍

24:55 Second this! I'm building a Belzdrazi Deck and being able to throw in the modal dual faced land cards from black and green is a complete GRAVY TRAIN! Love them. Defacto put the green and black mythics in any green/black+ commander deck i create and I've yet to be dissapointed when i draw into one. I either count it for my land drop or cast a MASSIVE bomb using Belbe's 6 mana giving ability to make the cost of the spell on the reverse side a pittance!

I liked learning about dowsing dagger. Nice budget nitpick over sword of the animist. I can't wait to flip it.. flip it good.

I think the precons tend to be 75% the actual deck they presume to be, and about 25% another deck that you might wanna build separately. So in a way, they are meant to start a new commander player on their way to their first two functional decks. I think that is the best way to look at Commander precons, and the most effective way to get good value from them
Ardenn, Reyav, are great picks for this deck and for Boros in general. This video shows you can make card advantage for Boros. Awesome.
Some people get too caught up in hating to see that these decks can function very well nowadays

Nice upgrade guys..one question... In your discussion on Godo, you mention "you want to give Wyleth another combat.." Since Wyleth is not a Samuri, how would you untap it? I believe you can only attack with Godo on the 2nd combat unless Wyleth has vigilance from Sentinel's Eyes, correct?

Love your videos guys! What do you guys think about changing the commander Wyleth out for Partner Akiri and Rograkh? Also I have an Aurelia the Warleader from the Boros guild kit. Would that be a good include?
You could change the commander, although you'd be missing out on card draw in the command zone so I'd recommend adding at least 2-3 more spells that do it. Aurelia is an awesome include for the deck, I'd say go for it!
so how many lands exactly do you run in the deck after the upgrade including the MDFCs? :)
In my opionion the MDFC cards with the tapped lands on the backside are rather awfully slowing you down. Basics do their job quite well.
Yeah malakir rebirth and sea gate restoration are the only 2 i really play. I dont run green much cuz I believe its a cop out color and i do agree that basics are fine in all decks minus 4 or 5 color where half or more the lands need to tap for 2 or more colors.
My picks:
Basilisk Collar cause deathtouch and trample are nasty.
Escape Velocity is a recurring aura for 1 giving a tiny buff and haste.
Gryff’s Boon similar to the above.
Open the Armory and Heliod’s Pilgrim are great tutors.
Oh shoot honestly, I think I missed Escape Velocity, I like that card a lot. We do have the tutors in here and collar was just a wee bit too expensive at $3
How about Keeper of the Accord for the ramp slot? Also creates weenies for skullclamp, which is likely to happen because you're Voltroning.
Keeper is solid, we couldn't quite fit it in budget-wise, but it's one of the first cards I'd add now!

Divine Reckoning could be a useful wrath since it can be played twice and you can spare your quarterback.
I did a little precon power up of my own for a friend of mine who picked up this as his first deck. Put in a Keeper of the Accord in place of the Oreskos Explorer and hot damn it puts in work.
Such a nice card! Keeper of Oreskos can suck it
I like gryff's boon over angelic gift. Trading a card for recursion seems like a good deal for me

Help! The card list on tcgplayer is lacking 5 cards, and after following the video I have a 106 card deck, so I definitely missed something.

Moraug is probably a solid wincon, but obviously it's not a budget card
Martial Coup does have something useful: generating bodies
I played against the deck on the table while I was playing Meren, so you can probably imagine that I shut down the board until token generators hit the field (considering there's 4 Fleshbag Marauder-type cards to force sac) - I also had a Strionic Resonator that game too
I think our version is better at getting other bodies out than the precon which was like "Wyleth is your only wincon!" for some reason. The token stuff is just kinda off theme
@@NitpickingNerds That's fair, he did turn around the board state completely with it - I know I built a Voltron with Hope of Ghirapur and I did include the token generator equipment into the deck, because I included Smuggler's Copter and Weatherlight to help with card draw in the deck (actually, those two might be nice to add to Wyleth as well, considering Skullclamp is already on your list)

Lightning greaves is a dangerous game to play, stuck with swift boot boots if you are pure voltron IMO
These guys are all over the place.
I added shuko and bone saw to the deck from my collection thinking these cards are so dumb but they really fit the deck. No one is going to think to add these. I watch this video and realize I'm no secret genius

@@NitpickingNerds yeah they are overperformers in the deck. No one removes them because they are so bad but they provide that card draw and with double strike they become relevant.
I also added cobbled wings. Having flying allows extra attacking options on a cluttered board.
I know you disagree with umezawa's jitte but this has also performed. Remove all the counters on a turn when you double strike off the land and one shot someone. It also opens attacking options because if they block you plus +2+2 as many times as needed or it acts as some sort of removal with the -1-1 while staying on theme. It's also not a budget card these days but I have a pretty large precon collection and it was in rats nest theme deck.
Dualcaster mage allows you to copy the spells that give you extra combat steps

MDFC are soo good with bouncelands. I think i would slap worldslayer and indestructible stuff for the funsies.

Kinda nice to see someone else hate on cards like Orekos Explorer. I always feel kinda annoyed by folks recommending Knight of White Orchard to every white deck......no just give me my efficient rocks 😆
Totally disagree on adding greaves. It easily screws ya over in voltron decks. Your generally creature lite so its not uncommon to have no other creatures in play.

It's not budget, but a must have for any self-respecting Boros deck is Sword of the Animist. It's worth the 12 bucks.

Flickerwisp is in the deck because it can be bad removal. (Although I agree, I'd still cut it.)

It's pretty good, but slightly pricey for something that wouldn't be a crucial piece. if you have a little extra budget I would toss it in

@@theotherguy4478 $2 dollars is just a bit high for nonessential cards. $1.22 is the average we have per card.

@@samorniv7911 wipes and massive target removal. Lots of black decks that forces to sac creatures.
Its easy to win via infinite combos in my meta, but very hard if you try the voltron style.
Commanders with cmc 4 or more are also difficult to play.

Bonesaw was Randy Savage’s character in the original Toby Macguire Spider-Man. I thought that was what the reference was.
You can use flickerwisp if your opponent puts an aura curse on your voltron and taps him and keeps him trapped until end of game.
Voltron commanders are putting all your eggs in one basket. Not keen on voltron commanders. They're both super strong and super weak. There are plenty of cards that can subdue or steal a commander creature, and then what do you do? If you play in good groups, you'll more often be sitting on your hands for most of the game with nothing to do, because the voltron commander is taken out of the game.
Wyleth will replace the cards we use to suit him up with, and we can always go in on another creature :)

Benevolent blessing is a free roll in this deck. you attack, someone uses swords to plowshare, and you say no.
It's a solid protection aura, you could play that over Spectra Ward
Personally I'd run Surestrike trident over kuzzuls fury one because I'm not killiny commander and 2 Surestrike trident Is a repeatable effect
I agree, Blazing Sunsteel is garbage in the precon…until you add Brash Taunter to the deck

minor one first. in the list under spells you have evolving wilds.
moderate nitpick as always the lack of removed cards make things tougher, but more importantly, none of the flippy lands you mentioned are in any of your decklists added or full list :o

Hey this might be a weird comment... I like/appreciate these videos (especially for the budget players out there) but I don't really want budget content from you. I think of you as the people who Nitpick their decks to perfection. You think certain cards are unplayable, which tells me you guys know a lot of stuff about the highest of power, without going into cEDH, which is exactly where I wanna be. Plus I proxy a lot.
But I can use this video mostly for what to cut from the precon at least! So thx! Take my view, comment and like!

In practice, the sword is +3/+0 and a removal spell if the creature gets blocked. It definitely is not as bad as the internet seems to think, but it isn't ideal by any means.
Ardenn targets sadly and will not work on a dude wearing greaves
Yeah you'd have to either have greaves be one of the things he moves, or move everything else and equip greaves after. shouldnt be an issue
@@NitpickingNerds sadly moving greaves off the critter you have greaves on is a good way to advertise your plans. If only two creatures are in play they can kill your target for moving greaves and then greaves is stuck on your creature until you play another one. I think overall swiftfoot boots is a clearly stronger choice in this specific instance.
