I listened to the podcast on Spotify but tuned in to CZcams to see how Ed and rich vibed and interacted. One thing I noticed is that the camera views stay locked on the speaker for most of the time. I would love now and then at appropriate moments to switch to the person listening (or to a wider panned shot) to see how they are physically holding themselves and communicating their engagement with the person speaking. One example was 1hour 7 minutes to 1 hour 8.30 minutes where Rich is giving Ed advice. Would have loved to see how Ed was recieving the message from rich but camera didn’t switch at all. Hope the feedback helps. Huge fan of show and this episode was great!

5:31 - Imagine all the bad food and substances being flushed through people. Technology cannot extend further than the hands that use it, one could say that use reflects the conditions of their environment if not their state.
6:32 - Imagine taking off all the mufflers on all those vehicles on all those highways, imagine the noise then?
6:57 - 7:16 Television has never not had a sense of the world?
10:04 -Think it started at burger and beer.
11:04 - The Russians are foaming? I read a remark somewhere that chickens in a field tend to peck much less at one another than those in a box. I wouldn't wonder the equivalent for the internet. In that regard I'm unsure the maliciousness of a government can be so much as the populations are of themselves? Though i am ill informed on that.
11:48 - I'm unsure the answer or issue is so simple to be described as a yes or no or one way or the other. Maybe the method of a question is insufficient for the scale of the issue at hand. While there's a good chance I'm ill informed on the significance of what facebook has become, it is moment to moment an extension to it's user.
12:55 Is TV going to remove political adds?
14:20 THAT is a good and challenging question, when history extends no further beyond and between the perceptions of humanity, what is it even? And what is it now that we have an accuracy of recording it to detail unlike ever before. What do we do when we could consider how much previous as a kind of unfortunately ill equipped to conceive? For lack of a better question.
23:29 - Well, the rate of loss Bolsonaro with Trump and others happen to be burning away the amazon year by year, hows that going to ripple through the future? If not the added stream of by miners, loggers, and ranchers. If not the rate it will flood? A grown forest can't match an ancient one millions of years old, and the loss of such trees.
I am unsure furthering combustion infrastructure serves anyone any good, for the amount of resource and waste is in kind flushed into the environment to keep the american dream roller coaster running.

I just think it’s silly to think that we need laws to change the world. We should all lead by example until being the highest version of yourself/ascending nihilism is the norm and unless you conform to the mindset of living above nihilism you will be in the minority. Most people are followers so we tend to just follow the leaders and currently our leaders are corrupt/nihilistic/ego centric/power hungry illusionists setting the stage for a completely negative future. “Do as I say, not as I do” should be the credo of the “law” making “elite”

    Truth to power?
How could people be so naive?
The truth, is that what Norton has been part of is responsible for unchecked power, while killing off thousands of small businesses.
Crowdrise, was funded by venture capital.
Here's what venture capitalists (VC) do.
Let's say you have a company selling widgets. You're in a big market, you're doing well. You're paying all your employees health insurance, you give them great benefits. You're a great company that the community adores.
Now let's say two kids from Stanford, Rich's alma mater, find out about you. They decide they want to compete against you. They don't compete against the old fashioned way. No. They pitch VC's with a plan to take over your market and crush you. How they do that is by either giving away what you sell for free, or, by selling what you do at a price lower than your COGS (cost of goods sold). In other words, what they charge for the same widget is less than what you can buy it for.
Because Americans have no loyalty and all they care about is cost -- thanks to VC's -- you go out of business. The VC backed startup wins. They don't just win, no one else can compete against them either. Because remember, they either give away what was once charged for, or, they sell it at a price that's less than what a competitor could buy it for. The net is the world we live in today, where a few companies; Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, Apple, and Google control everything. Everything means everything. Each one of those companies was funded by venture capital.
EDO, Norton's latest venture, is a company that's about surveillance capitalism. They're about behavioral modification. How could people not know this???
A must read is "The Age Of Surveillance Capitalism - The Fight For A Human Future At The New Frontier Of Power" by Harvard Professor Shoshana Zuboff.
    www.shoshanazuboff.com/new/
Professor Zuboff’s book is the "Silent Spring" of our time. Hey Rich. Remember when you started, when you cared about the little people, like Rachel Carson did? It details how the Internet is run by oligarchs who’s intention is behavioral modification. That by participating in social media Americans are essentially puppets, being manipulate by puppet masters.
This isn’t about privacy, it’s about behavioral modification. It’s not about a few companies, it’s about totalitarianism. It’s not about automation, it’s about the fight for a human future.
Because of people like Norton, and Rich, we want to break things down to what can be explained on Twitter. This is proof of the behavioral modification already taken place. We say, “people don’t read.” More evidence of behavioral modification.
We say, “it’s inevitable.” This is akin to allowing ourselves to be locked up without representation and a trial by our peers. It goes against the founding principles of our country.
We’ve become puppets, slaves to the puppet masters, read: what Norton has been a part of. We need to start fighting back.
Zuboff writes, “The dangers we face cannot be grasped through either the lens of privacy or of monopoly.” So we should stop using those words. We should stop saying social media, and start calling it what it is - surveillance capitalism.
She goes on to say, “The threats we face are even more fundamental, as surveillance capitalists take command of the essential questions that define knowledge, authority, and power in our time: Who knows, who decides, who decides who decides?”
Who knows, who decides, who decides who decides? That's everything, man.
We are seeing speckles of resistance and a couple minor victories. The Right To Be Forgotten was a small victory against Google. So was the California Consumer Privacy Act. Bernie Sanders is here, he's a once in a generation candidate.
People, we are in a crisis. Our planet is collapsing. The United States Constitution has been trampled on. Instead of celebrating people like Norton, we should be calling them on the carpet. My god. If the terrorists were doing this to us we'd declare war.
The apocalypse is happening, it just hasn't come to your neighborhood yet. If people don't stand up, rise up, it's the end.

This is advice for Edward on sustainable fitness. Check out Tabatas. You can do 1 or 5 per day. For people who have little time or little motivation, this is a very structured program that gets the heart rate up and requires little motivation. Also, use the Tabata Music app. Days that I have no plan on what to do workout wise I just do a Tabata or multiple. On busy days you literally can do air squats for 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off for 8 rounds. The stress that comes out of guilt for not working out can be remediated with this simple program.
