I'm not 50 yet I do apply your style rules to my outfits and let me tell you something, it's not making me boring as many fast fashion girls believe but actually turning me into a stylish smart looking woman and it totally changed my life. Much love and thank you again 💕
Hi Lovin,
You are so right: looking chic means looking sophisticated--far from boring! Why look like the trend-of-the-moment when you can look timeless?
Natalia
Same for me, I'm 33. ;)
@@nataliamiles7109 totally agree 💯
@@lovinsweety6573 Yes, go for stunning and uniquely classic--not what the sheep are all following!
Love all these looks. At 75 yrs I want ideas to keep me relevant, even if going to the grocery store. Thank you.
Same here, Judy, just 1 years less. However, I don't show a belt. Why should I show the worst part of my figure?: "no" waist 😁😉. I'm sure, I'm not the only one..... But the scarf around the wrist is a great idea, as I would feel strangled with a scarf tied around my throat.
I agree with you, Judy. I'm 76 and I was taught by my mother to always look presentable. Too many people wearing their pj's out in public. 🙄
Good evening and Bonsoir. This is why I love your videos even though I am gentleman but your hacks and they apply usefully to us men. You never know how much you saved my budget and finance ever since I subscribed to you. I highly recommend every person to do like, subscribe and share. You're a life saver and because of you I have been learning French which I do like actually. It's fascinating and interesting language. It has a way life of life and the culture is mind blowing. I wish people could experienced with themselves. It's beauty of life and does make you even more chic.
Hello Enjoy With Melody,
I am so glad that a man is here learning with us ladies! Men can benefit from Ms. Lecouer's advice, too. I love seeing a man dressed in refined, elegant outfits, which is seldom seen in Arizona. I am tired of seeing grown men dressing like children. Hooray for you!
Since I began watching your videos, I have made better use of my belts and scarves with no need to buy any more. Whenever I add a scarf my husband will tell me how nice an outfit looks even if I wore it before without the scarf 🧣 These style hacks are easy to remember and most of us have these things already. 💗💗💗
This month I was assigned to work temporarily assisting my colleagues in Guatemala, so here I am.
My wardrobe was composed of just basic neutral colors. Everything carefully planned to be mixed with each piece of clothing I brought without looking the same and that applies to office outfits and street outfits as well.
The most elegant supervisor told me “you have dethroned me with that French style”. The biggest compliment ever!
The clue? Accessories that will elevate the look and make me stand out, plus planning how to look effortlessly chic and elegant.
So as you can see my dear Marie-Anne, your lessons and wisdom can work for anyone.
Merci beaucoup!
I am 70 yrs young and I love these French hacks. Thanks so much a I hope you are enjoying your home
In my mid- fifties I am having a clean out of my wardrobe, clothing that is never worn or does not reflect who I am here and now has to go, I am refilling my wardrobe with classic good quality clothing , your videos inspire me to keep on going and improving, (especially when life gets in the way and I become distracted ) after watching your videos, I become excited and motivated again to look my best , thanx
Love the adaptability of snakeskin heels. My pair just arrived, following your advice I have bought a marinere, red ballet flats, snakeskin heels, a trench coat and a french basket. It’s my style, I feel very comfortable in classic quality clothes than in “fast-fashion”.
Pearls are my go to jewellery but following your advice I only wear one piece of jewellery instead of 2. I love the less is more.
Thanks for your wonderful advice.
Hi Alexa! What designer or brand are the snakeskin hells please? I can’t find a pair that look good and confortable. Thank you !😀😀😀
I like to add a vintage brooch to jackets and sweaters. It changes everything. Sometimes I put them on my purse handle. Been doing it for years, I always get a compliment. 👍
@Phillips Mom
I have a couple in my stash that are completely neglected. I used to wear one “fun” item every day but have gotten a bit lazy. I shall put them back into the rotation. Thank you for the inspiration. 💜
I love what we call French Navy, my grandmother had many French Navy skirts and many white blouses but various shades of white the only jewellery I ever saw her wear was a pearl brooch at the top of the blouse or a cameo brooch and her wedding and engagement rings.
I asked her one day why she didn't wear her other beautiful jewellery and she said .....darling it's not chic, and it's bad taste to wear so much at once and never in the daytime. I've tried to always remember that when I'm going out and want to put on every piece I have.....thankyou Nanna 😅
@@MarieAnneLecoeur You of course Madame are many years of a different generation to my grandmother you and I are of a similar age. But I'm loving your work as a chic Frenchwoman, it keeps me doing the small things that can pull an entire outfit together.
Without women such as yourself we can sometimes let ourselves slip
That is a beautiful sweater and I prefer the look with a belt and heels. I love my scarves. I never thought about the wrist or the front two belt loops. I am fond of the darker and black jeans myself. I never got into the sneakers except once in my 20s. I bought a pair of snakeskin sneakers and wore them with jeans and a jacket. But the times I don't put on heels with jeans, I have well-made pointed-toe flat shoes. Sperry has a stylish flat with suede and cow hair and Talbots shoes are very well made. I prefer the flats to have a slight heel for a more finished look.
I love the style hacks - simple and effective! Thanks Marie-Anne x
You are so stylish and beautiful, Marie-Anne. Thank you so much for these excellent tips.
Bonjour Marie-Anne! Great tips! The change from the converse to the snakeskin heels sure made a difference! Wow, loved that!! Merci!!
Great style tips 👌. It's good to wear basically the same outfit over and over and just tweek the accessories.. thanks for once again showing that basic is not boring but chic xx
Dear Marie-Anne,
I love your reptilian heels; I had a pair like that in the 1980s. I am 64 and live in my 4" stiletto heels each and every day; they elevate (excuse the pun) all my outfits. Men of all ages go crazy when they see my high heels, and it's great to hear the compliments each day. I also wear blazers each day with my pants or skirts--even in the high heat of the desert in Arizona. Why look plain when we can look stunning?
Natalia
Proper ladies wear heels !
@@amandahuby871
Hi Amanda,
That's how I feel! An elegant dress outfit is elevated with heels, not flats.
Natalia
This video is so useful. It starts from the comfort look we always have and make little changes from there! I really like Marie-Anne’s videos and I just can’t stop watching! Merci beaucoup!
oh my that is a BEAUTIFUL jacket
These are very handy tips for those who wear jeans. I can apply them for my jean skirts too.
Thanks, Marie-Anne. You look very rejuvenated in this video. All the best for 2022
I really, really like that very nice mid brown color sweater paired with the blue jeans!!!
Great lipstick color too!
💋
That jacket!!! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! What a showstopper!
Ohhh..it's amazing how you're wearing Keds sneakers!🥰 And it looks really good on you!!
Loving the mini French lesson in my style lesson.
Merci Marie-Anne! You have inspired me to dress better in 2022! I love, love that brown sweater--and is that a new lip color? Looks gorgeous on you.
Thanks for all your tips.im back to work today from 3 weeks off.i just bought myself a new pair of jeans yesterday and it's a nice cool day today so I will be using your tips thanks Marie-Anne
Bonjour Marie-Anne! These hacks are perfect especially la ceinture w/ casual super!
Very very beautiful combinations.
Beautiful classic but simple tips - another great video, thank you Marie-Anne.
Love these tips. I do a lot country walks photographing wildlife. One other thing I do to ensure I'm not too scruffy is to put on a small pair of earrings. Always makes me feel just that bit more dressy if I bump into a neighbour in my flat hat!
Live in Florida, but love the French style. So classy!
I was in France in October and loved it. I’m from Wisconsin, USA. Loved the countryside and the little towns along the way. I also love watching your videos. You do such a great job. Great ideas always.
I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for you to say, "Jacket." Heels are my favorite, then jacket, then belt. They're all great.
xo~linda
Great ideas - And I love that blazer, it's fantastic!
Such great tips here Marie-Anne 🙏. When I started working for myself, online at home, one thing I really missed were my jackets. Usually, because I live by the sea, South Coast UK, I tend to wear lovely cardigans with summer dresses. I've recently invested in some jackets/blazers again, going back to my horse riding/country clothing roots and intend wearing them more often. Even casual linen summer jackets. I'm 60 and find I miss some aspects of my old lifestyle, loving the tailoring of my riding jackets, so I've put a modern twist on the Slone Ranger I was for a few years. I've even returned to pearls, not quite twin sets yet but who knows! 😁
This was so good. I do get depressed at the constant, over casual COVID dressing so it’s really good to know how to elevate the look and cheer myself up.
I'm old enough to remember the time when in France we wouldn't go out in trousers with empty loops (if they were showing). A belt was a must, for women and men, and no belt was a frumpy look. Another style tip is... JEWELLERY! 🙂Just a beautiful necklace (or bracelet or earrings or brooch) can elevate a simple outfit; it can be gold, silver, pearls, a beautiful stone... And it'll bring a little more light to an outfit with neutrals. A beautiful watch also does this 🙂
⏳When you have a extreme hourglass figure, the only time you can go without a belt is with an elastic waist, a drawstring waist, or a perfectly tailored trouser or skirt.
😖It's almost impossible to find off-the-rack bottoms that fit my proportions properly. A belt is needed to ➡️cinch⬅️ things in.
Often times that creates a freaky
🤖Frankenstein situation. Thus preventing a full tuck. Thankfully, the 🆕 French Tuck is now my saving grace to discreetly camoflauge all that craziness.
💫For jewelry, I stick with simple gold posts and 6 gold rings of great sentimental value. They all have slim bands, so they're not ostentatious. It works out as three rings per hand〰️two of which are designed to be stacked.
🌟 If feeling fancy, I might add single statement piece like a beaded or pearl necklace, an oversize watch, or maybe a bracelet.

Annette here. Can I "love" this one? My favorite tips are the belt and the jacket. Love the heels to elevate the outfit, but I always feel so self conscious when I wear heels unless I'm wearing a nice dress. I think carefully selected jewelry can take an outfit up a notch as well. Thanks, Marie Anne! I'm using your advice as I refine my style to reflect how I feel on the inside. ❤
I liked the unusual use of a scarf as a bracelet and also only tied on front belt loops. I have used a long scarf or man's silk tie as a belt/sash. Can't wait to try a small scarf in the front on the pants only
Always..You are fabulous Marie !! Monna from across the pond. 🌹
Ooooooh!!! Love the colors in the plaid jacket. Great video.
Thanks for the style tip to tie scarf around the wrist. I didn't think of that. Wow.
Love the jumper
Love love love ❤ this video thankyou x
Ouh Marie-Anne J'ai vraiment hâte de ressortir mes foulards carrés!
J'aime tous vos idées. Certainement le truc avec le foulard utilisé comme une ceinture. Très créative!
So stylish ! I wish my rectangle shape resembled yours😁
Do you think if I watch often enough I will just absorb the French chic way of dressing! Very inspiring thank you
Yes of course Margaret - it is just a question of getting your Style Eye in 😃 and of course if you really wanted to speed up the process and get expert help along the way visit my website 😘

Merci Marie-Anne ❤️
Great ways to elevate a style! I like each one, and will have fun implementing them!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur i absolutely will! XX
Ce pull sezane ❤️ j’ai le même et je ne m’en lasse pas !
Hello Marie-Anne! Great video. Wonderful tips. I never wear light denim jeans, they are not flattering on me. I only wear dark denim or black jeans. I loved all your tips..thank you. lol xx
Your brown sweater is soooo pretty and so are all your ideas on dressing up this casual look. Watching from Chesapeake, Virginia, USA.
Merci Barbara x
I can't walk in heels LOL! I'll have to settle on pointy toed flats perhaps. I love these ideas! I usually don't like belts, my waist is so small compared to my hips that most jeans don't fit my waist, so they pucker up and gather too thickly around my waist when I wear a belt. But I love jackets! I will implement as many of these as I'm able, TY Marie-Anne!
Merci!
Great video! Thank you so much!!!!
Absolutely love this!
Thank you.great tips as always. The jacket you chose was so special. I loved the way the plaid was carefully lined up to accent your waist and symmetrically along the back. You looked fantastic.
I LOVE these simple tips that make so much difference! I'm a basic jeans and jumpers girl and it is inspiring to see how little effort it takes to elevate an outfit.
Simple and very much effective! great video Marie-Anne!
You are an artist whose medium is clothing. Merci!
Another great video, that I just re-watched. Am so envious of the jacket you show -- it's just my style and colors. I could not find it on the Ma Reine web site, but ordered a similar one from Talbot's -- back in July! It is still back-ordered :(
Great hacks video, Marie-Anne! Thank you for the tips😍
Loved the scarf as a belt. Going to play with that!
Thank you 🙂
Around Christmas you did a video about your favorite skin care products. I did find Vichey 89 minerals and another of their products for lip area and eyes. Comes in a little tube. Both are great and I see improvement in a month of use. Thankyou!! Something else ….my hairdresser/makeup artist friend introduced me to over a year ago I’s Aragan oil. I use 100% organic from Moraco. It’s on Amazon and 4oz is not expensive. I love your videos! You are also adorable!
I just adore your advice, and it inspires me to never compromise but strife for more style. Merci 😊
Lovely ideas. Merci
Lovely outfits thank you for great tips as always 😍
Love ur tips
Tks Marieanne
Oh how I like watching your videos... and i share so much of your ideas I'm starting to feel a little bit French!!! Thank you!
Thank you Marie-Anne for yet another fabulous video. Your advice is always outstanding and I love that jacket, it's so versatile, beautifully tailored and the colors are perfect with jeans and other neutrals - you look wonderful in it. I have been watching you for about 4 months now and you continue to teach me new ideas. I have just ordered your book collection from Amazon and am ready to elevate my style even more. I am so grateful to you. Merci beaucoup! Martine
I love your video!! Very good idea. The jacket is just perfect!!
Love the shoes in this video. I can no longer wear heels, even the shorter heels, because my feet are in bad condition. I have to wear orthopedic shoes. In the last few years shoe manufacturers are coming out with some stylish shoes that don't look like "old lady shoes". I'm 76, so I'm older but don't want to look frumpy. 😁
Respect. I think I go right to you as also myself blending to find my true style! You have been at this a long time and so change with the times doing you tube channel❤encouraging me to change too. It’s fun!
Style is a journey Margarette 😃 it is always evolving around the core basics 😘
Good tips. I love your sweater!!
I was so happy to hear you say “I am a Rectangle!” Haha. I tell my friends the same, and they always yell at me thinking I am being “down” on myself BUT that is what it is! I am Athletic but with no hips. Ugh. HAHAHA But I was so happy to hear someone say it - taking your style tips to elevate my personal looks over 50 for sure ❤️ MERCI!
Great video Marie-Anne. I'm style challenged so basics really help 🙈💗
My sister-in-law taught me many years ago, in the eighties, to wear a nice scarf as a belt. She said remember you are a pretty like package and should be wrapped up in a pretty bow! Her comment gave me confidence
Really wonderful!!! 🌺🌺🌺
Great video
Genius style hacks, and everybody can use them. I personally got a pair of beautiful ballerinas in red suede. It changes my outfit right away.
Those heels are so beautiful! They are my favorite change ❤️
🥰🥰Thanks
LOVE snakeskin shoes....hard to find!
Marie Anne, Love all the hacks! They are all very practical and effective. My favorite ones are the belt, snake skin heals, and the jacket. I would love to practice wearing scarf more, but my neck likes to be bare, don't like to be bonded tightly. I will try the loose knots and see how it goes. I like to wear dark wash jeans in boot cut style to wear heals to make my legs look a little longer as I am only 5"4 . I tried dark wash skinny jeans and they made my bottom half body shrink and disappear! LOL. By the way, how do you keep your tummy so flat? I admire you. I exercise regularly and am fit. My tummy looks ok, but not as flat as I would like. What is your big secret?
Thank you very much, Marie Anne. I will check that video out for sure.
Thank You again, Marie-Anne. I can’t wait to wear my heels again. I got blisters walking in Paris even after wearing the shoes around the house for hours! I ordered Dr Scholls blister protection to carry next time. I am not happy with the way my scarfs & belts are stored for easy access. I keep trying out different ways. XO
Blazers are the go to for almost everything to elevate, look polished and classy
Loved this:)🌻🌻🌻
That blazer is so gorgeous!!!!💟
Unfortunately the jacket tip is impractical for the climate in tropical countries 😂 But I do like the look of a belt and agree that it helps to elevate an outfit!
I absolutely love that last outfit! That jacket is stunning. And the Converse make it. The only thing I may have done was add a single string of pearls. But I have a habit of gilding the lily just a bit. Thank you, Marie-anne. I appreciate that. Prends soin.
Me, too, about the pearls. I wear pearls with everything. I can't resist them.
Better not wear high heels along the flood, Marie- Anne 😂 Hope all the water has gone by now. I am hoping for some snow here in the Netherlands. So i will wear my Du * barry Irish country boots. No slipping!
I love tweed blazers. But i never wear high heels. Just not comfortable for me. I bought a cream colored 100 % cashmere aran jumper by Cynthia Rowley this December. Have a nice evening. Maybe you have the wood fire burning in your lovely new country home , like i have ;) So cosy........and a mazagran with hot chocolate milk and whipped cream. I bought les mazagrans by eb* a * y France ;) we do not know that kind / model of cups in the Netherlands.
Thanks Marie-Anne, another great video. Would love to see the whole outfit at the end: the dark jeans, the heels, the belt, the jacket and the scarf! Did I miss it? Thanks! 😘🙏💖
@@MarieAnneLecoeur ah yes! Sorry! I realized after i sent the message! Silly me! Thanks for the tips and all your wonderful content. You are great! 🙏🏻❤️
Love this natural color lipstick on you
Could u pls make a video on different movie characters, models and celebrities and examine their styles? For example Audrey Tautou, Jeanne Damas/Rouje and Rory’s style in Gilmore Girls and why it’s chic or not? Thanks in advance! :)
I need to go through my closet and get rid of shoes. The uggs and gladiators are going! I love scarves and have even made custom scarves. I tossed all belts when we moved, I need to get a few. I used to think they made me look rounder but it looks great on you.
Bonjour :) Please, make this type of video regular on your chanel! :) Merci, Boglarka
The jacket looks so lovely on you and I have to admit to be a wee bit jealous. I love the look of jackets but since I have narrow, sloping shoulders , they never fit properly in the shoulders and it would cost a fortune to have them altered (I've asked.) I'll just have to keep enjoying them vicariously thru your videos! :)
Genial! Je l'aimerai pourtant en francais.... Vous pourriez faire aussi de videos en francais..
I love this, I often add a belt and scarf to simple outfits (with leather shoes). I would also love the sweater with cream jeans or leather trousers and your beautiful “Les Mustangs” scarf. Your blazer is so beautiful, I looked all fall for one like that! No luck here in the US, everything is hugely oversized and 100% polyester, yuck.
❤️
